Hot Country #3

Rough Ryder

Rate this book
When a hot little strawberry blonde from the audience interrupts country music superstar Ryder Landry’s concert and accuses him of stealing a song, he thinks she’s just another fan using an innovative method to get his attention. Backstage, she doesn’t want anything to do with Ryder’s seduction—not right away, anyway.

Brooke Davidson barely has the willpower to put a stop to Ryder’s foreplay, but she’s there on business. Illegal business because he’s taking credit for a song she’d written. When they determine it had been stolen by a third party, they set out to find the man, ending up together in intimate, sexy, tantalizing situations.

Ryder normally keeps his public and private lives separate, especially now, with all the secret family matters he’s working through. His rule has always been to never spend more than one weekend with a woman, but Brooke has him wondering if his rule needs to be changed. She’s quirky, uninhibited, and intensely sensual, but a new revelation about the stolen song has him doubting her and his feelings for her. Will he be able to get past his uncertainties, or will Brooke’s jealousy and distrust keep them from exploring the irresistible connection between them?

I was given a copy of this book to write an honest review for Cocktails and Books.

This is a charming story about hot country star Ryder Landry. Ryder meets Brooke when she interrupts his concert claiming she wrote the song he’s currently singing. Women are always trying to get Ryder’s attention so he doesn’t take her seriously. He assumes she’s just another groupie, but when he meets her after the concert, he’s surprised to find she isn’t there for a hookup. She really believes he stole her song. Ryder doesn’t want any legal problems with his new hit and agrees to help Brooke clear up the problem.
Ryder’s a complicated man. He’s happy living a solitary life and his fame keeps him insulated from the rest of the world. He has few friends, has never been in a relationship with a woman and has no interest in starting one. He’s content having sex with random women who are excited to spend time with a big star like Ryder. Once Ryder meets Brooke, there is something about her that draws him to her, but he’s afraid to let anyone get too close. Ryder has built up a lot of walls and he doesn’t trust easily. Even though he is drawn to Brooke, he’s too afraid to let go and see where it might lead. Ryder has never met anyone like Brooke; she’s feisty, smart and says whatever is on her mind. Plus, they have incredible sex whenever they are together. Ryder’s confused and frustrated. He doesn’t want a relationship with Brooke, but he also isn’t interested in being with another women. He keeps pulling back and each time he does he hurts Brooke’s feelings.
This the third book in the series and each one is a stand-alone about a different country star. The guys featured in each book are all friends so they are included in this story too. Randi Alexander writes an entertaining story about a sexy country singer afraid to open his heart. I liked Ryder and Brooke and wanted Brooke to help Ryder tear down his walls and learn to love.

I loved this story. As always, Ms. Alexander has written a book with snappy, a little wacky, hot, handsome characters that make you wish you were their friends. Lucky for us, we can be with them for the craziest and most intimate moments without being arrested for trespassing or peeking!

The story starts off with a bang. Ryder Landry, country music rock star is on stage and ready to sing his latest song, dedicated to his mother. Just as he introduces the song a feisty young women pushes up toward the stage carrying a sign that says that Ryder stole her song.

Brooke Davidson is at the concert to get her song back and to find out how Ryder Landry got a hold of her song. She's not leaving until she gets justice, that means carrying a sign and yelling that he stole her song. After Brooke's demonstration Ryder has Brooke brought back stage, thinking that she's a creative groupie wanting to meet him.

Brooke lets him know she's there to get justice for him stealing her song, until push comes to shove and Ryder pulls her to him and lays a steaming kiss on her.
Brooke and Ryder are both determined, but not exactly on the same page. Focusing on finding and resolving the song's ownership is not the only thing on their minds.

"Rough Ryder" has two truly likable and hot main characters, a supporting cast that is supportive and caring.
The relationship is believable and the sex will steam up your reading glasses!

I absolutely loved this book. I had the opportunity and pleasure of being a proofreader for Randi Alexander on this book. It was very well written book and such an enjoyable read.
Ryder and Brooke were both very likable people. Ryder really was a player but there was something about him that you just had to like him. Brooke was totally likable and I loved her tenacity. Together they just worked even if took them time to figure that out.

'Rough Ryder' (Hot Country Book 3) by Randi Alexander is a great read. I have been anxiously awaiting this story since I finished reading 'Heart of Steele' (Hot Country Book 2). Randi did not disappoint. I loved Ryder's story! Ryder and Brooke are a great pair! This story will have you laughing, fanning yourself, possibly getting teary and of course sighing. This is a great addition to the Hot Country Series. Highly recommend to all fans of romance and smoking hot cowboys.

I had the honor of proofreading Rough Ryder for Randi Alexander and I must say... I absolutely love this series. I have read all of Ms. Alexander's books and there is not one that I didn't like.

Randi Alexander has that something that lets you know she loves to run. Once you start reading Rough Ryder, you won't want to put it down. The characters are interesting, the story fast pace and well-written. You get romance, humor, steamy sex, and then it all wraps up with a great HEA.

This is the third book in the Hot Country series. I haven't read the first two books but this works very well as a stand alone. At no time did I feel I was missing part of background that would have been provided by reading the first two books. This is a great story that is well written with some humor mixed into the romance. I really enjoyed that Ryder is more than just cowboy and he's also a country star.

I just loved this book by Randi Alexander! When Ryder & Brooke are together sparks fly. He doesn't know what hit him :) . First she's out to get him, next they need to team up and then he realizes he can't and doesn't want to live without her. We get to hear from Chase and Reno along with Steele and Tracy. I especially loved the way it ended. Good job Randi!!
