My friend wrote Reclamation, and I am truly impressed! Her ability to put her heart out into the world like this is something special.
I really enjoyed the story and the challenges the main character had to endure. There were many moments where I completely forgot this was a debut novel; I genuinely got lost in the story, which is no small feat.
My main critique is that I wanted more. I would have loved deeper exploration of the characters and their backstories. At times, it felt like pieces were missing, parts I wished had been expanded on.
Overall, I truly enjoyed reading Reclamation. I appreciated that, much like real life, not everything is wrapped up neatly. Instead, the story reflects how we learn, evolve, and do the best we can with the life we’re given. A beautiful and impressive first book.
