Rate this book
Faith runs deep — and so do secrets.

The Salvage Yard is still there. So is the secret headquarters. And so are the Three Investigators—smarter than ever, a little older, and ready for their most challenging cases yet.

Conceived and co-written by Elizabeth Arthur, the daughter of Robert Arthur, the creator of the Three Investigators universe, this exciting reboot of the classic series takes its iconic characters into a new age. They return reimagined, reinvigorated, and more relevant than ever.

In the twelfth book of a 26-book story arc, Jupiter is alone at the Salvage Yard one late summer morning when an unexpected visitor arrives - a retired Catholic priest named Father Samuel. He comes as an emissary from Adam Suleiman, a teenager from Alameda, in the Bay Area, who has become an ardent fan of The Three Investigators after reading Bob's case reports online. Adam has a mystery for the a leather portfolio containing twelve famous villanelles, written in the 16th century by French poet Jacque de Boissy, has been stolen from Adam's father's library just as the poems were about to be donated to the Tri-Faith Center for the Study of the Abrahamic Religions.

Amazingly, the portfolio is abandoned in Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, then returned to the Suleimans. The poems are unharmed, but something has been removed from the portfolio's secret pocket - something Adam and his father hadn't even known was there. What was taken? And who was the thief?

Jupiter can hardly wait to begin investigating, but when The Three Investigators travel to the Bay Area, they quickly discover that San Francisco seems to be spiraling into chaos. The day after meeting Adam and his father, Adam is kidnapped in broad daylight by two black-masked men whose ransom demand is the portfolio with the twelve poems.

Using social media to enlist help, The Three Investigators are fast on the trail of the kidnappers' highly visible car when it suddenly and mysteriously vanishes. With their usual blend of skill, intuition, and luck, Jupiter, Pete, Bob, and Mallory close in on the kidnappers' lair. A daring rescue by Pete and a brilliant insight by Jupiter lead to the surprising solution to not one, but two mysteries.

Join the team as they discover a secret hidden for four centuries and face the dark forces at play in this thrilling new installment of The Three Investigators series. Will they solve the puzzle in time to save Adam - and the priceless legacy hidden in the labyrinth?
