What happens when the man who swore he'd never feel again meets the woman who makes him feel everything?
I haven't smiled in three years. Not since the call that broke me. Not since I buried my sister and decided feeling anything was too dangerous. I built walls. Froze everyone out. Made myself untouchable. Then she showed up. Bright. Bold. Refusing to be intimidated. Jordan Blake reorganized my entire life and had the nerve to look pleased about it. She argues with me. Challenges me. Smiles at me like my worst glare is a joke. I should fire her. Instead, I can't stop watching her. Can't stop wanting her. Can't stop imagining what it would feel like to let her in. She's trying to make me smile. She has no idea I'm trying to make her mine.
I knew this job would be hard. I didn't know it would come with a six-foot-three Swedish problem. Mikael Lindqvist is rude, demanding, and looks at me like I personally offended his ancestors. He sends me seventeen-point memos about bottled water. He hates every change I make. He watches me like he's waiting for me to fail. But I've seen the cracks in his armor. The grief he hides. The man underneath the ice. I told myself to stay professional. Keep my distance. Don't fall for the broken captain with the blue eyes and the tragic past. Too late. Now we're stuck together on a week-long road trip, and every late night, every accidental touch, every moment alone pulls us closer to something we can't take back. He thinks he's frozen solid. I'm about to prove him wrong.
CHECKED is a scorching enemies-to-lovers romance featuring a grumpy hockey captain, a sunshine heroine who refuses to quit, and the kind of heat that burns slow and explodes hot. This BWWM standalone delivers all the tension, all the steam, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
I loved the character of Mikael. Loved that he was flawed. Jordan was strong and lovable. Luka and Kade were wonderful characters. I believe this is my final read in this series. I really enjoyed it. I will be looking for more of Ms. Viktoria books
