As a longtime fan of Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk and their music, I absolutely loved this book. It was honest, vulnerable, and gave such an interesting look into their relationship and lives behind the music.

I also really enjoyed the relationship advice woven throughout, especially around communication and conflict resolution. A heartfelt and relatable read

2.5⭐️ For a memoir about two famous Canadian musicians this was pretty boring. It read like it wanted to be a self help book about marriage advice. I wanted more chapters like Raine’s titled Boarding School where he talked about the very beginnings of the how/why he got interested in music instead I got a lot of chapters on what or what no to do when you get into a fight with your partner.

Also a big pet peeve of mine that I’ve noticed with most celebrity memoirs I’ve read is that they are never in chronological order. They jump forward and back in time as if they’re saying ‘remember that time, oh and remember this time’ but then in the editing process nobody thinks to put these events in order. Just put your life in order please!

I thought the book was fantastic it was really well done it was a nice companion to the film it show when u read it how much u actually know about Raine and Chantal I hope they right more good job on this one it should be a contender for Canada reeds

This started out as potentially interesting but then just turned into any other music memoir. Seeing as I know nothing of their music - yes, I know, heresy for a Canadian girl like me - I just didn’t care and I couldn't relate.

Give this to a friend who is a fan of their music - and by extension them - but it wasn’t for me.

I am the target audience. I have grown up listening to both Chantal and Raines music and loving it. I’ve been to many concerts, I’ve watched their documentary numerous times. So this book I impatiently waited for and loved. I have now read it twice. I don’t buy many books, and if I do, I usually give them away when done. I will not be giving this one away. Looking forward to November for their next concert!
