Ah to be reunited with Roc James and Wendy again is exactly what I needed. I can’t get enough of these two men. When James says “Bloody Hell” it gives dopamine hits.
I never want this series to end we wasn’t even expecting this lil treat so to have it I’m so happy.
Of course I binge read it in one sitting - smiling and giggling the whole time.

Those that get it .. get it .. those that don’t are missing out!

This first half of this book is delightfully sweet. Roc, Hook, and Wendy are getting married! They go about their lives, settling into their new roles and surroundings. Loving each other and building one another up. Adorable and delightful. Blissful in their devotion.

Then, the plot thickens. Hook is snatched of the streets on his way to his own wedding. Roc and Wendy must band up with Peter Pan and his Lost Boys to save their swashbuckling lover.

It's bloody gruesome madness and yet delicate and beautiful. Have I mentioned that I adore this series?

A novella about Roc, Hook and Wendy getting married and a kidnapping the day before the wedding!!! Of course I ate this right up. The books in this world are just fun filthy absolute nonsense and I love em. Fantastic audio again from Shane East, Robert Hatchet and Stella Hunter. 🐊🪝👸🏻

Did i enjoy this? sure. Was it necessary? not really.

I like the idea of the story, but i was expecting more when i read the blurb about kidnapping. I feel like that part of the story was less than 5% of the book.

It was still entertaining seeing Hook, Roc and Wendy again (and the little cameo from Winnie, Peter, Vane, Kash & Bash).

It's a royal wedding and we get a front row seat to Roc, Hook and Wendy's happily ever after. The shock that left my body when I found out that this was coming! I love this world so incredibly much. And anytime I can see Hook getting all soft for Wendy and Roc, you better believe I am going to ... devour it. 🙂‍↔️👀

I thought I was happy with where the Devourer duology ended. But apparently I needed exactly what Nikki St. Crowe had to offer as an addition to the story. Because this was absolutely perfect. There was contentment and humor, mixed with a little bit of imposter syndrome and doubt. Roc, Hook, and Wendy are the perfect trio full of unconditional support and love. I couldn’t have asked for a better novella to add to their stories. Plus we got to see all of our favorite characters from VLB? Absolutely loved every page of this book!

Reading this the day it came out with high hopes, only to be left slightly defeated. For this to "be the last installment" according to Nikki, it definitely didnt leave me satiated. It was very boring in certain parts of the book and vastly lacked that nail biting experience of the Origin story. I was ecstatic to have the 4 boys and Winnie briefly in this book however. I really really hope there's more books in the future as I never want this world to end. Give me more Nikki

Protective MMC

Per usual, there’s a lot happening. There’s a wedding to plan and another shadow to contend with. It’s cool to see Wendy, Hook and Roc settle into their relationship and their roles. I always love a protective character and Roc did not disappoint in this department. I’m interested to see if this spin off series will have four books as well.

This is a short story about Croc (now the Darkland King) asking Hook and Wendy to marry him. Of course, a royal wedding between Hook, Wendy and Croc could never be normal.

The day of the wedding, some poor, misguided soul decides to kidnap Hook! And you can imagine how well that goes.

I love any excuse to come back to this universe, and seeing a Royal wedding is a great reason. This trio is more established, but still new enough in the relationship to still have insecurities. Wendy felt more part of the throuple in this story, which was such a welcome change.

The casting for this series absolutely fantastic. Stella Hunter was perfect as Wendy, and she was so great as the other characters in this story. I hope Stella Hunter had a blast giving voice to all of these bad-ass female characters. There were no misses in this. At one point Roc tries to go get Hook without Wendy and she just side eyes him and basically asks him if he’s dumb. 😒 No, you are not marrying a damsel, babe. I’m going with you to save our Fiancé. 💅

I adored the MMCs for this story. Robert Hatchet is dripping swag as Roc. OMG, I cannot get over this character. He’s so fantastic. I love Shane East as Hook. I literally cannot fathom another person playing Hook.

TLDR: The Royal wedding story for our favorite Neverland throuple.

I have been dying for more Roc and Hook ever since the Vicious Lost Boys series and the Devourer of Men duology, so getting a 3rd Devour book felt like a personal gift. And honestly? This was everything I could have hoped for.

The chemistry, the devotion, the violence, the obsession - it all hits exactly the way you want it to. Nikki St. Crowe understands how to write morally gray characters who love fiercely and protect ruthlessly. The pacing is addictive, the tension is delicious, and the emotional payoff absolutely lands.
I especially loved seeing how this story handled a throuple with a true happily-ever-after. It felt intentional, earned, and satisfying - though I’ll admit, I would have been perfectly content with just Hook and Roc. Their bond is magnetic, raw, and deeply rooted in shared history.

Seeing familiar faces from the Vicious Lost Boys (and Winnie!) made my heart ridiculously happy and reminded me how much I adore this twisted little universe. Even Dark and Darker Still - the Vane and Roc origin story - holds a special place for me, and revisiting those dynamics here only made this book richer.

Also, Hook getting kidnapped on his wedding day is possibly the most James thing that could ever happen, and Bash and Kas’ reaction - “Who the fuck was stupid enough to kidnap the crocodile’s boyfriend?” - lives rent-free in my head. "RIP to that guy," truly.

There was also an unexpected surprise for Hook that I did not see coming, and it fit the story beautifully.

This book was a blast, a comfort read, and a feral indulgence all at once. And while the ending is a lovely HEA… I will absolutely not complain if Nikki St. Crowe decides to write more stories with these characters. I’d devour them instantly. Pun Intended

Just like the rest of the Devour series, I devoured tf out of this novella. Nikki St. Crowe truly never misses for me.

The love I have for Roc, Hook (James), and Wendy is honestly ridiculous. I thought I got my fix in the last Devour book, but nope. This was the ending I didn’t even realize I needed. They already had their HEA, but this novella shows them actually settling into it, and I loved every second. Roc stepping into his role as King? Wendy being asked to marry him? And then Roc asking James to marry them too because James is still unsure where he fits? My heart. 🖤

And SMEA?! We get to see her again 😭🖤 I didn’t know how much I missed her until she showed up on the page.

Then chaos hits (because of course it does) and James gets kidnapped right before the wedding. I mean…who tf kidnaps a man with a hook?! Or as Kas so perfectly put it: “Who the fuck is stupid enough to kidnap the crocodile’s boyfriend?!” 🤣 This series just keeps getting better.

With James taken, you already know Daddy Roc is about to do what he does best. 😏

Roc, Hook, and Wendy are the perfect trio, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say they give the Vicious Lost Boys a run for their money. (Except Vane. Because… well. VANE. 🤤)

If you love this series, don’t skip this novella. It’s the perfect chaotic, dark, and satisfying cherry on top. 🖤🪝🏴‍☠️🐊

Being reunited with Roc, James, and Wendy healed something in me. I will never get enough of these two men—especially every time James drops a “bloody hell” (instant dopamine, no notes). I wasn’t even expecting this novella, so imagine my joy when it showed up and I immediately binge-read it in one sitting… smiling, giggling, kicking my feet the whole time.

A novella about Roc, Hook, and Wendy getting married… with a kidnapping the day before the wedding?? SAY LESS. I devoured it. This world is pure fun, filthy, unhinged nonsense and I love every second of it. And getting cameos from our fave VLB characters?? Absolute perfection. No crumbs.

We’ve returned to the Darklands, and Roc, Hook, and Wendy Darling are getting married!!

I am a complete and utter sucker for Nikki’s Peter Pan retellings and their spin-off series; especially this one, The Devourer series.

Roc, as usual, is an absolute snack. Captain Hook is sultry and smooth, and Wendy is stunning as she fully steps into her place as the future Queen of the Darklands. But beneath the excitement, all three are grappling with emotions, nerves, and the question of whether their happily-ever-after as a trio will truly last.

Then Hook is kidnapped before the wedding, and everything spirals; plot twists, secrets, and revelations I did not see coming.

This book is quick and fast-paced, the spice is absolutely spicing, and the twists kept me hooked. The characters are perfection, and we even get a visit from some old friends from Neverland. The ending wraps everything up with a perfect bow, tying beautifully back into the rest of the series.

Nikki is so clever with this world, and I honestly wish these books would never end. I’ve fallen in love with every character; they truly have my heart. This is the book my heart needed and I didn’t even know.

It was a fun and quick read.

Like all things in this universe, was it the best thing I read, no, but have I bought the last 4 books on the day of release? Yes. And I don’t see that changing any time soon.

This book was what it said it would be. Roc proposing to Wendy and Hook, a brief moment of drama, and a wedding. It gave all those points in the way one can expect from Nikki St. Crowe. With as little details as possible but progression to see it through. Seeing as I’m this far into her books I don’t say that as a critique as obviously she’s doing something that’s kept me around, so the score is giving in that sense. I smiled while I read, and I read it in one sitting.

That’s why this is a 4 star book for me. It’s going off my impression of Nikki st. Crowes other books. At the end of the day I like the characters and who doesn’t love a random ‘episode’.

Also it was fun having the brief revisits of old characters. Kas and Bash and their banter and chiming secrets conversations is a pleasure, Vane was not as present as I would have liked him to be seeing as this book was about his brother’s wedding. I wanted brother moments! Some lines regarding Winnie and Wendy was a nice add on.

Devour the Snake was the final book in the Devourer series. I loved getting a final look at the MMF relationship between Roc, James, and Wendy.

This throuple has already had their HEA, but this novella shows how they settle into their new roles. Roc is becoming King and asks Wendy to marry him. James is not sure about his place till Roc also asks him to marry them.

I loved seeing Roc be more stable and supportive to his two loves. I always feel his connection more with James, but I did believe they were all perfect together.

James gets kidnapped right before the wedding and Roc does what he does best to get their man back.


AUDIOBOOK REVIEW

I have listened to all the audiobooks in this series and I have loved the full cast, duet narration by Robert Hatchet, Shane East and Stella Hunter. I always love Shane East, but Robert Hatchet is a new favorite. He is perfect as Roc. This was a fast-paced audio that I flew through in one sitting.

This was definitely better than the second book in the series, and genuinely interesting, too. I loved the dynamic between Hook, Roc, and Wendy Darling. Even though she’s one woman among two men, Wendy is the one with almost no ego. She’s incredibly strong, keeps her head held high, and carries herself with such quiet confidence. A true queen, honestly. And what can I even say about Roc and Hook? I loved them both. Hook, especially, fascinated me, the way he has two sides: one that’s constantly annoyed by Roc’s shenanigans, and another that’s completely captivated by him and secretly wants to let Roc take control.

The book was short, but that’s exactly how I like it. A story doesn’t need more words or extra paragraphs if it works perfectly as it is, and this one did. It was brilliant overall.
My only real issue was the kidnapping of Hook and the action surrounding it. It was heavily marketed as a major reason to read the book, but it fell short for me. I expected something much more impactful, and that part ended up feeling a bit disappointing.

Devour the Snake was an amazing way to end the Devourer Series! I’ve been enjoying this series so much! I can’t get enough of Roc, Hook, and Wendy. After some hijinks, we do get to finally see Hook, Roc, and Wendy get their HEA. I still can’t believe anyone would have the audacity to kidnap Hook on his wedding day!

I love these characters so much and this story was spicy, funny, and full of adventure. They also had me in my feelings a bit as they originally struggled to find their places in their new life together in Darkland. It was such a great listen!

The audio of this book was especially enjoyable! The story is narrated in duet by Shane East, Robert Hatchet, and Stella Hunter. I loved all of their performances!

Devour the Snake is the third in the series and it does not stand alone. You have to read Devourer of Men and Devour the Dark first.

Her books always lift my mood!

This little MMF treat has the trouple I love (Hook , Roc, & Wendy) ready to enter into martial bliss !
Hook is feeling not worthy , and Roc & Wendy are set to be King & Queen.
Chaos breaks out when Hook is kidnapped. And Wendy & Hook will stop at nothing to get him back!
But in the end all is well and love conquers all!

I truly enjoy this and excited to see if Nikki writes more without this universe! Because I’m totally obsessed 🤩

I am obsessed with the characters in the world, and I will always purchase her books and read every single one. But I was very disappointed and how rushed and unimportant. This book felt. This felt like she was just giving us something to throw something out there. There is so much room to add in things that could’ve made key points in this continuation way better. I did like the subtle hints to the new series that she is going to be putting out and is coming out this year. It makes me think that she is potentially going to be tying in some own characters with the new because she did this with the ending of her other series as well. We could’ve easily had another hundred pages and this book would’ve been a five star book.

I love this series. I love this world. I love these characters. I'll always want more of these books.

Roc and Hook are definitely my favorite couple (no shade to Wendy). I really love their dynamic. Roc is so cocky and sure of himself. He's hot and he knows it and loves using his good looks and charm to disarm people and make them squirm. Hook is very insecure, and although he has both Roc and Wendy, constantly feels like he's going to lose them. Roc finds his insecurity adorable, and he just loves him through it. Since this book was technically a novella, there's not a whole lot that I can say without spoiling anything, but it was nice to see Roc, Hook and Wendy finally get their happily ever after.
