Windfall

Rate this book
The wind always tells Mor when to run, and he always listens.

Drifting from town to town, never sleeping in the same bed twice, Mor has survived by trusting the omens the wind brings him. When it carries him to the glittering town of Esk, he doesn’t intend to stay. All he wants is a warm bed and a few quiet nights before he moves on.

Then he meets Earle, a teashop owner with a crooked smile and a knack for making Mor forget every rule he’s ever lived by. Earle is as charming and warm as the tea he brews, but the longer Mor lingers, the louder the omens grow. The wind is insistent. Misfortune is never far behind.

Mor knows he should go.

But for the first time, he isn’t sure he wants to.

Cute, cozy and beautifully descriptive of the magic infused world of the Esk series. The romance felt a tad odd in how it started - maybe I wish there had been more to it, but this short tale is all about the calming vibes. Cozy fantasy isn't my usual type of read, but the writing was truly enchanting.
