I need to purchase a copy for every single person I know who is dealing with Christian Nationalists. It was fascinating to read how the Bible and the story of Jesus is used for such hateful rhetoric and actions. Seeing these ways to refute the crazy was invaluable.

This insightful and informative book was written by a sarcastic and sassy yet completely in earnest comedian. Fuglsang tackles a complex and difficult subject matter that is definitely unfunny in its impact on our society and world at large. With a consistent sincere and sometimes irreverent view, shaped by a well-developed faith, the author highlights both the harm and the hilarity of some of the most far-reaching belief sets and how scripture can refocus us by seeing the authentic Jesus. So worth the read.

4.5* I listened to this book with my husband while driving across the country and had some fantastic discussions. Interesting ideas were presented; some I agreed with, some I did not. The author sometimes pretends impartiality but obviously has his own biases or incomplete info. I think it was a worthwhile read, as I feel that I would like this to very much like this separation to occur.

Lots of great info in here about the Bible and its true meaning. The problem is, it’s going to always be open to interpretation and that will breed difference of opinions.
