Victoria, rich, attractive, and perhaps a bit snobby, is also smart, focused, and most definitely not in the market for a girlfriend. Thanks to her ex-wife, she’s sworn off relationships well and good.

As a hairdresser, Carmen’s passion is making her clients look more beautiful walking out of the salon, than when they stepped in. The occasional difficult client is not enough to break her stride or wipe the smile off her face.

That is, until a mishap with Victoria’s hair causes their paths to cross. Carmen can’t help herself being mesmerised by Victoria’s cool blue eyes, and Victoria’s usual infallible focus is faltering in the presence of the Spanish woman who infiltrates her thoughts in more ways than she ever expected or wanted.

With opposite worlds and personalities colliding, Carmen and Victoria have very different thoughts on what they want from each other. As tension builds, and feelings grow, will they be able to find a happy middle ground?

A sweet and light sapphic romance where love finds a way despite the odds. The stark differences in socioeconomic status made Victoria and Carmen an unlikely couple, but I just rooted for them even more. Opposites attract is one of my favorite tropes, but pile on age-gap, rich girl/poor girl, and ice queen tropes? Say no more. The dual POV gave insight into just how different their worlds were, and the efforts put in to reach a middle ground which led to some funny moments. One of the things I loved was how they challenged each other to see the world through a different lens without trying to change the other and that was beautiful. There were just a few things that prevented me from giving it a solid four stars, but that’s just a me thing and I won't give spoilers. Overall, it was a light and easy to follow read that included supportive family/friends, a lurking ex-wife, and the cutest pup.

This book offers a compelling and emotionally engaging romance, driven by a well-developed relationship between its two main characters, Carmen and Victoria. The gradual evolution of their connection is one of the story’s strongest elements. Their chemistry feels natural and believable, and the tension between them is built up with care, making their interactions genuinely engaging.

One particularly strong aspect is how the author portrays the contrast between their backgrounds. The differences in upbringing, wealth, and social status are thoughtfully explored and woven seamlessly into the narrative. These contrasts don’t just serve as surface-level traits, but actively shape how both women see the world and each other, adding depth and realism to their relationship.

That said, while the journey toward their emotional connection is handled beautifully, the ending felt somewhat rushed. The conclusion seemed to skip over important developments, creating the impression that there were gaps in the story or even a missing chapter. Because of this, the resolution didn’t feel as fully earned as the rest of the book, and it wrapped up more quickly than expected.

Despite this, the novel remains an enjoyable and worthwhile read. The strong character dynamics, emotional tension, and thoughtful exploration of social differences make it a book I would still recommend, especially to readers who enjoy character-driven romance with depth.

A Beautiful, Heart‑Opening Story That Stays With You

No Price Tag is one of those rare books that quietly pulls you in and then surrounds you with warmth, perspective, and genuine humanity. Lindie du Toit writes with such authenticity that you feel every moment — the struggles, the breakthroughs, and the gentle reminders of what truly matters in life.

The storytelling is honest and uplifting without ever feeling forced. Each chapter offers a blend of vulnerability and strength that makes the characters feel incredibly real. I found myself thinking about the messages long after I closed the book.

What I loved most is how the author balances emotional depth with hope. It’s the kind of book that inspires reflection but also leaves you with a full heart. A thoughtful, beautifully written work that I will absolutely be recommending to friends.

If you’re looking for a meaningful read with soul, sincerity, and unforgettable moments — this is the one.

The story was a nice light and easy read. It was sweet, sometimes funny and sometimes angsty. A rich girl-poor girl romance where the extravagant and the mundane collide.

Victoria feels awkward and uncomfortable in Carmen's world, Carmen on the other hand is totally overwhelmed with Victoria's. She reacts negatively to the excessiveness, the overindulgent and pretenseful lifestyle of the rich as the pair tries to find a middle ground between their two worlds.

There is also the age gap issue which also presents another obstacle to their fragile relationship.

Victoria and Carmen must learn to negotiate compromises and manage their differences while trying to shield their budding relationship from friends, families and a troublesome ex.

No Price Tag is a cute sapphic story about a corporate ice queen, Victoria and her hairdresser, Carmen. The dialogue is quick and snappy and Lindie does an excellent job contrasting the two characters. At times, I felt like the build-up didn't merit the bedroom scenes, but it could also be Victoria's no-nonsense personality. Overall, it was a fun read.

My one real issue has to do with the tense -- third person present. It made it quite difficult at times to figure out who was thinking what as there is quite a lot of internality. Because of that, it broke up the flow and I had to reread a few times to figure out who's head I was in. First person present or third person omniscient would have fixed that issue.

No Price Tag is an age-gap / wealth-gap story. Victoria could be considered an ice queen; her upbringing and prior relationship leaves her standoffish and relationship shy. Carmen grew up in a family where money was tight but love was abundant, but has been unlucky in love.

This was a fairly light read, with minimal drama as the MCs navigate their differences. It’s slightly angsty balanced with 🌶️🌶️.

A fun and sweet read! 3,5/5 ⭐️

I love an ice queen romance and Victoria was just the right amount of ice. The dual pov was great although I would’ve preferred alternating chapters instead of it just flowing into each other on the page.

I devoured this book in one day and it was an easy read but I missed some more depth to the charachters.

The love and tension between Carmen & Vic was great and I loved getting glances into their power dynamic.

This is the first book I ever read from the author, and I enjoyed it so much that I have a strong book hangover! The age gap, rich girl/poor girl and opposite attract sapphic romance is addictive and sweet, with well crafted MCs and great storytelling. The author addressed the huge wealth gap pretty well, convinced me that the couple that from a totally different socioeconomic background can find true love and their happily ever after. A heartwarming love story that reads like a modern day fairy tail, gives me hope for humanity!

I really enjoyed this rich girl/poor girl book. This trope is my favourite and Ms Du Toit knock it out of the park. Victoria has had a bad haircut and is looking for a new hairdresser; her assistant recommends Carmen. Victoria is your typical Ice Queen, who had been burnt by her ex wife and is very wary of any kind of relationships, but is interested in Carmen. Although this is a typical plot, it is written in a very complying way that I just couldn’t put down. Would highly recommend.

****

One of the best elements of this story is how Victoria and Carmen's connection evolved over time and how strong it did. This story also shows how they are from different backgrounds and how strong they were. I just wish it didn't feel so rushed toward the end of the book. Other than that I loved it!

10/10 would recommend!

Devoured this in half a day. A fun and easy read. Only issue I had was with time jumps that weren’t quite clear..how far down the road are we now? But otherwise I enjoyed this and the different backgrounds the MCs came from. Will be looking for more from this author!

Gorgeous  cover and smart title. We are off to an ice queen start with right amount of grumpiness.  Even her last haircut  was a disaster. No one can tell if she is satisfied  with the new hairdresser but the tip certainly  shows she is. How great that Victoria  can still have a competitive  game of tennis with her mother. Of course dating after her divorce 6 years ago is the topic of conversation. I love how she is finding excuses to visit Carmen's hair salon .Carmen's family  set up for lunch is well written including her brother in a wheelchair . When the no strings arrangement  changes the emotion is well written. I love the flirting in the hair salon but to have the lunch date picked up in the red Ferrari  is great. The title weaves its way through the story, but so does the age gap. When mother visits to tell of her divorce I giggled out loud. This is a gorgeous romance tale Thanks for the ARC opportunity
