Casting Shadows: A Mags and Mori Story

Rate this book
Some people run toward destiny. Mags would rather punch it in the face.

Too bad fate saddled her with a prophecy, a blade-happy mystery woman, and an annoyingly attractive shifter she is stuck with as a partner.

Magnolia Warren runs Bountiful Flora, a flower shop with a supernatural bounty-hunting side hustle, and she is damn good at what she does. She also wants nothing to do with ancient magic, fated roles, or the slow unraveling of her carefully compartmentalized past.

But when a routine bounty blows up in her face, she winds up tangled in a prophecy she does not believe in, alongside Morrigan, a stranger with lethal combat skills and dangerous secrets, and C.J., a maddeningly calm shifter whose steady presence is starting to get under her skin.

With dangerous forces closing in, Mags has to untangle half-truths, unstable magic, and a bond she never asked for, all while trying not to set anything, or anyone, else on fire.

Snarky, fast-paced, and packed with heart, Casting Shadows is an urban fantasy full of firepower, found family, and slow-burn tension. It follows one sharp-tongued heroine who is ready to fight fate, kicking, screaming, and flipping it off every step of the way. Sometimes literally.

Casting Shadows

This book was recommended to me by a friend that knows one of the authors and the setting was close to the area I live. The story pulled me in right from the beginning. It was different reading a book that was set in local areas I could actually picture in my mind, which was quite different than usual when I read, but I actually looked forward to what other locations would I know as I kept reading. I love to read, but the book has to be good to keep me going, and this one did, non stop! I actually read the entire book in one sitting! Looking forward to the next book they write! Can't wait!
