Wish Granter and Other Enchanted Tales

Rate this book
In Wind Whisperer, Aurora is cursed with eternal invisibility--until David discovers her. David is the only person in the world besides Aurora's captor who can see her. An old Stregoni Benefici, he understands a thing or two about dark spells. But the breaking of Aurora's spell will summon an ancient enemy, throwing the two of them into a dangerous love triangle.

In Truth Gazer, Sarah travels to Lisallight for the first time. She finds herself involved in a deadly mystery and must quickly learn that looks are not always what they seem. Can she use her gift to decipher friend from foe, real beauty from false, before more lives are lost?

Finally, in Wish Granter, Grace is given a very special gift--a gamelan, a musical instrument which, when played correctly, unleashes a genie. A genie whose origins are tied to dark secrets--and to a secret saboteur within the very castle walls. Grace must make her three wishes count if she hopes to save both the genie and her friends from a terrible fate.

These exciting stories filled with mystery and magic conclude Schulze's trilogy, The Stregoni Sequence. Sit back, prepare for adventure, and grab your magic books--there are a few last spells to be broken before the end.

Hullo there, dear reader! Christine E. Schulze here, author of YA fantasy, as well as a few kids’ books about special needs. I’ve been living in castles, exploring magical worlds, and creating fantastical romances and adventures since I was too young to even write of such stories. My collection of YA and children's fantasy books, The Amielian Legacy, is comprised of series and stand-alone books that can all be read separately but also weave together to create a single, amazing fantasy.

One of my main aspirations for The Amielian Legacy is to create grand fantasy adventures with characters that connect with readers from diverse backgrounds. My current focus is to include racially diverse characters, as well as those with disabilities. The latter is inspired by my day job working with adults who have autism and other developmental disabilities at Trinity Services in Southern Illinois.

I draw much of my inspiration from favorite authors like Tolkien and Diana Wynne Jones, favorite games like The Legend of Zelda, and especially from the people in my life. Some of my exciting ventures include the publication of my award-winning Bloodmaiden, as well as The Gailean Quartet, my first series with Words Matter Publishing. My books for younger readers include In the Land of Giants and The Amazing Captain K.

I love connecting with new raeders! Come find me on Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, or at my author website: http://authorchristineschulze.com

On that note, God bless, happy reading, and may you be truly inspired! I’ll see you in my next book.

First off I’d like to thank the author for gifting me this book for free in exchange for my review! Now let’s get into it!

I think book three was my favourite of the series, the writing improved SO MUCH and there were WAY less errors and the overall flow was much better! This book was actually three short stories following three different leads and was broken up accordingly into those three stories much like Sarah J Maas’ Assassin’s Blade which was a welcome change from book two where there was separate stories that were kinda all over the place

I really enjoyed how God showed up in all three books but particularly in this one, His love and understanding is unmatched and you can really see the author pouring that onto these pages

Story one we follow David as he navigates a world where he’s no longer a vampire and meets a mystery girl only he can see and finds out only he can save her from a wicked curse placed on her a long time ago by a man who did it because he loves her and wants to protect her, terrible way to show those things but as a God loving women she finds it in herself to forgive him which I do feel like she definitely should’ve ended up there but I do feel like she forgave him REALLY fast, as did David which was wild but good Christian themes overall

Story two we follow Sarah the man hater which I always felt was odd but even more so when we found out how strong of a Christian she is in her story, turns out it’s due to some trauma from her mom but still odd in my opinion but of course these are romance books and so she has a male love interest and it’s very Beauty and the beast vibes which I enjoyed very much. Matt looks like a Beast on the outside but Sarah is lowkey a beast on the inside and has to come to terms with her man hatred and judgment based on appearances which was a very enjoyable read! Along with of course another spell to break and a mystery to solve!

And finally story three! We follow Grace who is struggling hard with grief and blaming herself for some very bad circumstances that wore out of her control but we can’t help to blame ourselves right? I think this was my favourite overall, the story of coming to terms with something awful, learning how to forgive yourself and move on and know that it’s okay to find happiness again and fall in love again because God calls us not to be alone. It was all very powerful and I definitely enjoyed her journey! And her love story was very sweet!
Side note I think this author plays sea of thieves because a Hurdy-Gurdy is heavily involved in this story and that really made me chuckle cause of that video game

Finishing thoughts overall I enjoyed the first book, had whiplash from the second and really enjoyed the third, the improvement I saw in the writing, the storytelling, the almost nonexistent errors made me really happy cause I really saw the author grow! If love Jesus and fantasy I would 100% recommend the third book and if you really want to know all the characters going into it read the first two but be warned they are a little rough to get through (especially the second)

One more side note this line also made me chuckle
“I couldn’t help staring, taken aback at the man standing beside Lisal. He was, in three clichéd but oh-so-appropriate words, tall, dark, and handsome.”

In "The Wish Granter," Christine E. Schultz blends fantasy and Christian themes, weaving a tapestry of redemption, forgiveness, and acceptance. This collection not only introduces captivating new characters but also offers a heartfelt reunion with old friends from the series.
My journey began with the gripping story of David and Aurora,a wind whisperer, visible only to him. Their bond, tested by impending danger and a desperate curse, proves that faith in one another can overcome the strongest of foes.
While "Truth Gazer" skillfully brings back beloved characters as Sarah must discern friend from enemy, the titular story, "The Wish Granter," captured my heart. Grace's poignant growing relationship with the genie Arjhan is a powerful tale of overcoming grief, fraught with peril but shining with hope.
This trilogy is a true pleasure, offering something for every reader. Schultz's unique blend of spiritual depth and enchanting fantasy creates a world that is both thrilling and profoundly moving.

This is the only story about a genie I have ever read and I loved it! I especially appreciated the pop cultural reference that he was not what the FMC expected to see because he wasn’t blue like in the Aladdin movie.

I really loved the different storylines. I found they all pulled me on for different reasons and I think there was just enough to keep younger readers engaged without getting bogged down in too much information. There were some great life lessons in here about having a relationship with non-believers which I thought was really interesting and important for young Christian readers to read about.

Such a good conclusion to an incredible series!

I loved how nicely everything was wrapped up and I was so satisfied with the ending. I'm sad to leave this unique characters behind, but I will most certainly be reading some of this author's other books!

I love this 3rd book in the sequence especially Aurora's tale and romance with David an ex-vampire, i loved that she was a banshee who could still find love after her imprisonment by yet another who also loved her. Sometimes love can make people do horrible things to the one they 'love'. However in this book I had reservations about the very religious slant it took in the last tale where Grace shows such prejudice against those not of her own faith, so much so that she turned away from the genie she had professed to love because he was a non-believer. It is this total prejudice and lack of empathy for those who like myself do not believe that makes me even more sure I will have nothing to do with religion of any kind. However saying this I feel that Grace did finally accept to be with her genie even though she felt she had to create a world away from real life to be with him, escapism much in my opinion. This 3rd book is full of tension as we get to fear for the friends lives when darkness tries to overpower them. This has been a very magical series which overall i thoroughly enjoyed.

This was an excellent concluding book to The Stregoni Sequence. I really enjoyed how many biblical parallels there were in the story. I also enjoyed seeing Christine grow as a writer because there was more passion and more detail with this story than the others. She has done an exceptional job with this series. I immediately thought of Matthew 7:15 in the middle of the book --- "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves" because there was a lot of deception going on with some of the villains in the middle of this book. Great job conveying that message too, it was beautifully executed with this story. Overall I rate this series 4 stars only because the multiple POV took some getting use to and at times I struggled following alone so I definitely had to annotate. Other than that this book and this series was fantastic!
