She came to Copper Ridge to rebuild her career. She never expected to rebuild her heart.
Sloane Matthews has been dismissed her entire life—too curvy, too opinionated, too much. When her ex trades her in for someone "more conventional," she takes her considerable skills to a small Montana town and a motorcycle club that needs her expertise.
He's spent five years protecting everyone but himself.
Hawk never expected the Iron Brotherhood's new security consultant to be a gorgeous, confident woman who sees past his leather and tattoos to the man underneath. One look and he knows—she's his. But protecting her means keeping her at a distance from the club's darkest secrets.
When danger strikes close to home, Hawk will risk everything to keep Sloane safe. But can she trust a man whose world is built on loyalty, violence, and unbreakable brotherhood?
One curvy heroine. One protective biker. A love that breaks all the rules.
I went into Hawk with a lot of curiosity because the blurb sounded promising — unfortunately, the story didn’t fully deliver on what it set up.
One of my main struggles with this book was consistency. From very early on, I noticed several incoherences, especially around the timeline and the way certain events unfolded. I kept reading because I wanted to give the story a fair chance and form a complete opinion, but those issues remained present throughout the book. At times, it made the story feel confusing rather than immersive.
That said, I do think the book has potential. The core idea is there: a curvy, competent heroine, a protective MC hero, and a club setting that could have been compelling. Some of the elements individually work, but the execution made it difficult for me to stay fully engaged or emotionally invested.
Overall, this wasn’t the right fit for me, but I don’t think it’s beyond saving. With tighter editing and a clearer structure — especially regarding pacing and timeline — this could become a much stronger story.
As always, this is purely my personal reading experience, and other readers may connect with it more than I did.
I enjoyed this story and the characters pulled me into the story and I like being immersed in their lives. The guys are tough bikers with hearts of gold. She was coming off a relationship where she was not valued. Together they became a force to envy. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger. Enjoy!
Hawk is a member of the club and runs the garage. When Sloane comes to town to help the club he falls for her . This was a new author and series for me but enjoyed this uncomplicated mc romance.
I couldn’t even finish. The inconsistencies were just too much. The scenes were sweet and held a lot of promise, but the jumping around was not worth it.
