She came to Copper Ridge to rebuild her career. She never expected to rebuild her heart.

Sloane Matthews has been dismissed her entire life—too curvy, too opinionated, too much. When her ex trades her in for someone "more conventional," she takes her considerable skills to a small Montana town and a motorcycle club that needs her expertise.

He's spent five years protecting everyone but himself.

Hawk never expected the Iron Brotherhood's new security consultant to be a gorgeous, confident woman who sees past his leather and tattoos to the man underneath. One look and he knows—she's his. But protecting her means keeping her at a distance from the club's darkest secrets.

When danger strikes close to home, Hawk will risk everything to keep Sloane safe. But can she trust a man whose world is built on loyalty, violence, and unbreakable brotherhood?

One curvy heroine. One protective biker. A love that breaks all the rules.

so many inconsistencies - the plot idea should have worked, sadly, it did not because of the execution

such a weird book from this pov ... so many mistakes, makes me think if it's AI :p but you know, I don't want to accuse, so I'd say maybe that it was just not properly edited before being published

luckily for me, I got it as a freebie

I went into Hawk with a lot of curiosity because the blurb sounded promising — unfortunately, the story didn’t fully deliver on what it set up.

One of my main struggles with this book was consistency. From very early on, I noticed several incoherences, especially around the timeline and the way certain events unfolded. I kept reading because I wanted to give the story a fair chance and form a complete opinion, but those issues remained present throughout the book. At times, it made the story feel confusing rather than immersive.

That said, I do think the book has potential. The core idea is there: a curvy, competent heroine, a protective MC hero, and a club setting that could have been compelling. Some of the elements individually work, but the execution made it difficult for me to stay fully engaged or emotionally invested.

Overall, this wasn’t the right fit for me, but I don’t think it’s beyond saving. With tighter editing and a clearer structure — especially regarding pacing and timeline — this could become a much stronger story.

As always, this is purely my personal reading experience, and other readers may connect with it more than I did.

DNF. Way too many mistakes, and I’ve got past 50% and they’ve kissed once!

I can cope with small spelling mistakes or plot mistakes but these are really big mistakes. It’s totally spoilt it for me. In the first chapter Sloane MEETS HAWK, then the same night when she’s at her hotel she has car problems and MEETS HAWK!! It says she was supposed to meet him the next day, yet she’s already met him. Sloane is working till gone midnight, and he tells her to text him when she gets back to her motel. Sloane TEXTS HIM to say she got back okay. Then the next day he asks what she’s doing in the clubs gym in the early hours of the morning and she said she’s spent the night in the Mc as it was so late!!!! Apart from the fact that she can’t have spent the night, It’s early morning, and she only left the Mc at 1am ish. Did she not sleep? How did she have spare clothes? How did she know she could sleep at the clubhouse and what room?
NONE OF IT MAKES ANY SENSE!!!

Even taking away the huge mistakes, they have a weird relationship. Hawk blows hot and cold, and they barely speak but then apparently they’ve had long talks! HOW??? WHEN??? What is she still doing there at midnight?

NO, JUST REALLY REALLY NO!!! There are a lot of other mistakes, but I’ll leave it at that.

enjoyable read

I enjoyed this story and the characters pulled me into the story and I like being immersed in their lives. The guys are tough bikers with hearts of gold. She was coming off a relationship where she was not valued. Together they became a force to envy. HEA, no cheating, no cliffhanger. Enjoy!

Hawk salvation

Hawk is a member of the club and runs the garage. When Sloane comes to town to help the club he falls for her . This was a new author and series for me but enjoyed this uncomplicated mc romance.

This was an enjoyable read! I flew through it and it was exactly what I was craving. I loved our main characters, Sloane and Hawk, they were perfect together. The found family in here is adorable too and I cannot wait to read about the rest of the brotherhood!

Worth Everything

She was too much for her ex and coworkers. He was too damaged took too many risks. Then they found each other. Instant attraction, romance, brotherhood, protective instinct for loved ones and townspeople. Wonderful story and best happy ever after.

I couldn’t even finish. The inconsistencies were just too much. The scenes were sweet and held a lot of promise, but the jumping around was not worth it.

A boring, typical story. No excitement, just words. I’ll try again with the next book. Hopefully, it will be different.
