So honored to have received this book from Camille Johnson herself! I couldn’t put this book down. The 4 man characters: Naomi, Cecil, Kenny & Margaret were all beautifully developed and intertwined. This was my first experience reading about Gullah Geechee heritage and loved the presence of the main character being a woman of color with unique heritage ties down south. This was a quick and easy read- a great psychological thriller with tension and anxiety throughout.

Highly recommend

I made it 49% through this book and just cannot continue.

Maybe I’m in a book slump. I don’t know but this book was SO repetitive. The same things have been said multiple times with various words in hopes of making them new. I didn’t feel any suspense, maybe that’s in the last half of the book but it was DRAGGING.

Also, I have a weird feeling this is an AI written or AI assisted book. 🫣
