Like many people, this series is what got me into reading eastern fantasy novels. I would highly recommend this series for people who like martial arts, magic and fantasy.
The ending was pretty awesome! I’m loving the action.
I know these books are easy to read and quite simple which I love cause it’s great for relaxing, but holy this author loves repeating himself so much, he’ll give this descriptor one page and then literally verbatim repeat it a page later. I promise I have an attention span greater than two pages :)
I'm not good at making reviews. I just want to rate this novel because I think it deserves a higher rating. I got hooked to reading novels because of this.
The title of this volume is rather fitting. We see what is behind the cliffhanger of the last volume and Linley goes against a hell lot of powerful persons to have his will. Also a new major player is introduced that was teased in the previous arcs. Linley becomes a bit anti-protagonistic, but in chinese fantasy the norms and values are a bit different compared to our western ideals, so maybe he is a 100percent hero in eastern literature, it's just a bit weird to read it with a western set of wind.
Nevertheless a really great volume that pushed the story forward quite a bit and develops something that could potentially become a greater overarching plot and a chance for us to see more of Yulan than just Fenlai City.
