Argumento:

Todos merecen ser los héroes de su propia historia, y este es mi arco de redención. El último recurso que no merezco, pero aun así me arriesgo.

Nací en la opulencia, me criaron para ser despiadado y perfeccioné el arte de arruinar todo lo que tocaba. Especialmente a ella.

Mi humilde opinión:

Romance con madre joven, aventura de una noche, embarazo sorpresa, segundas oportunidades.

Al principio la historia me resulto confusa porque había conflictos que sucedieron antes con los padres de Jamie y no entendía como estaban las cosas pero después se hizo más fácil y fluyó.

Dos adolescentes de 16, una noche juntos, un embarazo sorpresa, malos entendidos, los dos vienen de mundos diferentes y las familias no lo hacen fácil.

Cuando Jamie descubre que Tiff quedo embarazada en su única noche juntos y que su hija tiene tres años, va en contra de los deseos de su padre y las busca para hacer lo correcto. Entendí que Tiff creyera que Jamie era igual que los padres, además tenia la reputación del chico rico, que no le importara nada mas que él pero ella tampoco le dejo su numero para que él pudiera localizarla. Me pareció injusto que le reclamara que él no la buscara, como podía hacerlo? Como podía él enterarse de las cosas que su padre estaba haciendo a sus espaldas, imaginarse que ella quedo embarazada? Me gusto la carta (me partió el alma) explicándole lo que sucedió, pidiéndole una oportunidad. El chico estaba tomando responsabilidad cuando dejo todo para ir a buscarlas y quedarse cerca para hacer lo que no pudo hacer antes. Tiff me parecía que iba a seguir corriendo pero por suerte después de leer la carta quiere tener una charla con Jamie, fue un alivio porque esta historia necesitaba protagonistas que se comunicaran!

Jamie hace lo imposible con lo que sabe, tiene que aprender a ser un padre, mantenerse a si mismo y ponerse a estudiar de verdad en una nueva escuela porque ya no tiene los privilegios de su nombre y el dinero. Me gusto verlo hacer todo para estar con su hija, que tuviera las cosas claras sobre lo que quería, recuperar el tiempo perdido con su hija y también Tiff. Me enamore de ese lado de Jamie como padre primerizo y me dio pena el tiempo que perdió por culpa del padre manipulador.

Me gusto también como se fueron acercando Jamie y Tiff. No me importo que las cosas sucedieran un poco rápido porque ellos ya tenían una conexión especial desde la primera vez que se conocieron cuatro años antes, esa atracción estaba allí todavía y ninguno pudo olvidar al otro, eso me convenció del amor que se tenían. Y obviamente Tiff nunca pudo olvidarlo ni podía estar con alguien mas, y eso que lo intentó. Entendía todos sus miedos y dudas pero por suerte Jamie estaba dispuesto a todo por ella y su hija.

Me hubiera gustado saber la historia de Zack y Honey pero por lo que ella decía se separaron porque las redes sociales la acosaban por su relación con él? Me pareció tonto que no estuvieran juntos porque ella estaba abrumada con el tema del Hate. Zack no tenia la culpa del de lo que la gente hacia en las redes. Me pareció que se podría resolver hablando con Zack sobre eso porque se notaba que él estaba loco de amor por ella. O quizás había algo mas? No se, tendré que animarme a leer su libro.
El final casi me da un infarto porque no sabia que pretendía hacer Jamie para detener a su padre pero fue Honey la que salvo toda la situación, gracias a las cosas sucias que encontró sobre sus padres pudieron liberarse al fin de su control.

Me encanta todo el tema de las segundas oportunidades, mas con un personaje que tiene que redimirse y Jamie lo hizo en grande así que disfrute mucho el libro. Me gusto el romance apasionado, la dulzura, bromas, con un poco de angustia y otro de deporte.

Tiff and Jamie met at a random party in Highschool and had a fun night together. They only gave their first name so they both can’t contact eachother afterwards. Tiff ends up pregnant and had their babygirl Ella. Tiff and Ella move in with Zach while he is in college. After various custody battles with Jamie‘s parents, Tiff thinks she is finally done with that family, but then Jamie knocks on her door and wants a second chance.

So I did not like Jamie in the previous books, but I am hurting for him and he won me over so fast! He just wants love and for someone to understand him 🥹 I mean he wrote everything important down on his phone to remind him of all his little girls favorite things - how sweet?! 🥹
Tiff is one strong woman - I bow to her. She juggles being a single mom and working on her GED while also being a good friend to Zach during a difficult time in his life. She also always wants the best for Ella, so she lets Jamie have a relationship with her, eventhough she is scared 🥹
Ella is the funniest four year old you‘ll meet! She is obsessed with everything princess Blanca and already has ALL the boys wrapped around her little finger!
Definitely a book I recommend, although I would suggest you read the first two books before, to get the best possible reading experience!

So good!

I really enjoyed the story. I had set a reminder to download it when it was released and I’m very excited I did. I was worried that I wasn’t going to leave in Jamie‘s redemption, but I actually did. If anything I was a little frustrated with tiff. She was really immature and I know she’s a young mom. I completely get it but so was I. I was about her age when I had my first kid ending what I didn’t do? I didn’t lose myself like she did. Now granted I didn’t have lawsuits thrown at me and everything else, but it did frustrate me a little bit that she floundered for so many years. It also disappointed me a little bit that I didn’t understand better financially how they were living, but it was still a very enjoyable story. I have to admit, though that I’m not really looking forward to last book because I have become very disenfranchised with what honey has put Zack through I don’t actually think I want them to end up together anymore. I don’t care what her families put her through the fact that she’s like I don’t know who I am and I can’t be with him because of it just really disappoints me so if I’m honest, I don’t even think I’m gonna read the last book in the series, but this one was good.

The False Start - @authoranashay

The redemption story of all redemptions is here! So I will be really honest and say I was nervous going into this story because Jamie had a lot of making up to do due to his shenanigans in the Quarterback Sneak and I just couldn't see how he was going to turn it around. So the question is, did he?

And for me he absolutely did.

This story is part three in the Four Quarters series and it's an important one and integral to the series especially as we head into the finale. Jamie connects a lot of characters in this book and so there is a lot of unfinished business that needs attended too. As secrets are revealed we find out why Jamie is the way he is. And in true Ana Shay fashion I didn't see it coming.

Can Jamie prove to the love of his life, Tiff and his gorgeous wee daughter that he is the man they need and want?

Parts of this book had me squealing with excitement. And Jamie had me swooning and crying during scenes in this book. I never thought that would be the case as he's truly the villain in previous books but Ana's storytelling is just always such a treat.

I love that her books are filled with drama as they are pure escapism for me and I get totally lost and absorbed in her stories. Her talent for this just proves why she is one of my favourite authors. She delivers time and time again.

And the banter between Zach and Jamie is so entertaining it will have you chuckling all the way through.

I can't wait for the finale.

You know what this book really missed? An emotional scene where Ella is told that Jamie is her dad. Isn't that the whole point when it's this trope???

She just started calling him dad the same way it would've even if it was a random guy her mum started dating??

Give them the conversation where they get to meet as parent and child. And for thatttt, I'm taking away a few stars.
