Motivating Students Left Behind: Practical Strategies for Reaching and Teaching Your Most Difficult Students

Rate this book
Motivating Students Left Behind looks beyond the obvious yet often ineffective reward and punishment strategies to show educators how to get students to want to do their work. This very practical book shows teachers how to create exciting lessons that turbo-charge instruction to engage even their most discourage learners. Several proven methods are shared that show how grading and evaluation can be used to ignite motivation while other strategies are offered that increase homework production.

Though this book was written in 2006 and I am reviewing it in 2023 (17 years later), most of the research and practices proposed are still relatively up-to-date, and are even becoming normal practices in some cases.

I'm giving this book 3 stars because the subject matter is relatively shallow and could be dove into a bit more.
