Rate this book
When Kylie Andrews had the best first kiss of her life, she expected a whole new chapter of her life to begin. Instead, Drew Campbell skipped town, leaving her to wonder what went wrong.

But that was four years ago, and since then, Drew has buried himself in work, chasing notoriety in academia to escape the crushing death of his mom.

Meanwhile, Kylie is seeking anything that will break through her fog of rage and sorrow in the wake of a bad breakup.

In a chance encounter on a thrilling ride, Kylie finds herself seated next to Drew, and all of those unresolved feelings burst through. Is it luck or fate that Kylie and Drew end up crossing paths thanks to a job interview and a St. Patrick’s Day parade?

Now back in each other’s orbit, Kylie and Drew hope their fake fiancée scheme helps each of them get what they want. But with a little bit of luck, maybe they’ll find something even better than what they hoped for.

📖Kylie Andrews is trying to get over her ex by seeking thrilling moments ... But when she gets on the roller coaster that is supposed to fix her life, she doesn't expect to see Drew Campbell. The one who got away, sitting right next to her.

With Drew looking to move back to Ruston for a job opportunity, the two become reunited and closer than ever before. Kylie ends up helping Drew with convincing his possible future employer that he is here to stay. . . And the romance finally has an opportunity to bloom.

📝This was such a fun read!!! The story was wonderfully developed and the characters had me constantly smiling. I loved the banter between Drew and Kylie and the butterflies it brought. Like always, Jessica added some furry animals in for all of us let lovers out there. This book felt complete even if you didn't read the previous books in the series. It really is the perfect March read for St. Pattys day.

I received the ebook of this novella as an ARC. I loved how fast paced the novella was. The cute fake dating/engaged troupe was cute. Jessica really brought through Drew’s quirkiness. I’m not familiar with the Rustin Series but now I plan to look into her other novellas.

Read if you like:
• second chance romance
• fake fiancée
• slutty little glasses

This is the perfect novella! It’s sweet, full of heart, and will be out just in time for St. Patrick’s day! ☘️

Kylie and Drew just may be my new favorite Ruston couple. Then again, I say that about every character Jessica introduces us to because they are just so darn good. 👏🏻 Fake fiancée is one of my all time favorite tropes and this was so fun to read.

If you are in the mood for a festive, HOT
novella full of yearning, romance, and a little bit of luck - check this out!

Was absolutely blessed and delighted to be chosen to be an ARC reader again for Jessica Booth and definitely wasn’t disappointed! Visiting Ruston again was such an incredible treat! Kylie and Drew are so incredibly relatable as adults in their thirties who have been through heartache both in personal relationships and in familial relationships. I absolutely love that they have this second chance at love and find it so seamless how Jessica Patel them into a fake engagement that seems so real. This novella is an incredibly quick read and a perfect palette cleanser for when you’ve been reading a ton of long books. This was most definitely a 5 star read!

It’s light hearted, has such lovable characters and the pages turn so easily! I had so much fun with this little book and can’t wait to read more from Jessica as this was my first book of hers!

I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to Jessica Booth for sharing a copy of your book with me.

I loved how Kylie and Drew have a second chance meet cute when they wind up sitting next to each other on a roller coaster.

It’s the perfect small town atmosphere with Kylie being neighbors of Drew’s dad in Ruston, Louisiana.

We get back story on how Drew and Kylie were friends in college and shared a kiss they both still remember to this day but life circumstances got in the way and they lost touch until now.

Kylie’s ex is one big giant red flag and seeing the juxtaposition of how sweet and caring Drew is gives me all the smiles.

I loved every second of this novella!

The perfect slice of second-chance romance in a novella that I inhaled in one day! Kylie and Drew have the most magical chemistry, their banter is unmatched and the spice?? In a novella??? Too good. As alway, it was a cozy trip back to Ruston, enjoying a festival and catching cameos of previous favorite characters. Don’t sleep on this book, you need A Little Bit of Luck in your life!! 💚

Four years ago, Kylie shared an unforgettable kiss with Drew, and she thought that was it, her happily ever after. But when Drew left town without any notice, Kylie had no idea why. Four years later, and fresh off the heels of a bad breakup, Kylie is searching for anything just to feel alive again, which brings her to a theme park for some adrenaline filled rides. Kylie expected to feel something, but she didn't expect her partner on the rollercoaster, Drew. Still trying to cope with the death of his mom, and the reason he left town, Drew cannot help but feel thankful that his path crossed with Kylie's again. As memories and feelings come flooding back for Drew and Kylie, they get caught up in a fake fiancée debacle when Drew comes home to interview for his dream job. The only problem is it doesn't really feel all that fake. This may just be the second chance they were hoping for, one they are lucky to get!

This was such a cute, quick, and satisfying read. It didn't feel like we were jumping into an already half told story, you immediately felt you knew the characters. Their banter is perfection and their chemistry sizzles on the page. I love how both characters were perfectly imperfect, and perfect for each other. And I mean, who doesn't like a man in slutty little glasses? This was my first trip to Ruston, but I don't believe it will be my last! Thank you to Jessica Booth for sharing an advanced e-ARC of this novella with me, it was a pleasure to read!

I'm already obsessed 🍀✨
A Little Bit of Luck by Jessica Booth is the second chance, fake fiancé, small town novella I didn't know I needed and now I'm upset it wasn't longer.

Kylie Andrews and Drew Campbell shared the best kiss of their lives in college. Then Drew skipped town and Kylie was left wondering what went wrong. Years later, fate (or the luck of the Irish) keeps throwing them back together, and they decide on a fake fiancé scheme to get what they both want.

Spoiler: they might find something better.

What you're getting:
🍀 Second chance romance with all the unresolved feelings
🍀 Fake fiancé trope done RIGHT
🍀 Small town St. Paddy's Day parade vibes
🍀 Bailey's Irish cream
🍀 A pug AND a calico cat
🍀 Overcoming insecurities together
🍀 Drew Campbell in slutty little glasses being the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC

This story is short, sweet, and completely drama free. The chemistry between Kylie and Drew is adorable, and Drew wearing those glasses while being the softest book boyfriend? Chef's kiss.
If you love second chances, small town charm, and the ones that got away finally getting their moment, add this to your TBR immediately.

Thank you for letting me be part of your ARC team, Jessica Booth! 💚

Thank you @jessicaboothauthor @thebookishpa for the #gifted copy of this eARC!

YOU GUYYYYYYYYYS! There is another Ruston Festival book coming and it is the CUTEST little love story. A Little Bit of Luck by Jessica Booth is perfectly timed for St. Patrick’s Day and just pure sweet romcom magic.

Every single time I read Jessica’s books I am BLOWN AWAY by her writing. She immediately transports me into these adorable small towns with swoony moments and characters that feel so real I just want to grab popcorn and watch it all unfold. This one has EVERYTHING!! There is four-leaf clover lucky chance at love, a roller coaster chance meeting, a touch her and die moment (say no to exes!), the smoothest fake fiancé situation ever that played out like butta and the most adorable neighbor setup that had me smiling the entire time.

I truly cannot think of a single critique…except that I didn’t want it to end. You know sometimes novellas aren’t my thing becuase they don’t pack enough punch. This one was not that. It’s simply just sweet, lucky, cozy and completely addictive.

I will forever and always read anything Jessica writes. Keep them coming because you’re just freakin amazing. 🍀✨

Friends if you’ve not checked out the Ruston Festival series you’re truly missing out. I’d make sure to add this to your March TBR immediately. Trust me.

This was such a soft, comforting second-chance romance 🥹🍀

Friends-to-lovers has a bit of my heart, and Drew and Kylie truly felt like they were always meant to find their way back to each other. When Drew’s mom died and he ran, it hurt but what I loved most was that when he came back, he knew. He knew what he lost, and he wasn’t going to let fear win again.

The rollercoaster meet cute? Adorable.
The St. Patrick’s Day parade vibes? So fun.
The emotional growth? We love to see it.

And let’s talk about the real scene-stealers:
🐶 puppies
🐱 kitties

Automatic bonus points. No notes.

Also, let’s take a moment to appreciate a novella with NO dragged-out miscommunication? Drew tells Kylie how he feels. Clearly. Quickly. Like an emotionally mature king 👏

This story felt like “a patch of clover that managed to take root in a crack in the concrete” ahhhh. It’s hopeful, tender, and proof that love can bloom again.

If you love:
🍀 second chance
💚 friends to lovers
🎢 cute meet cutes
🐶🐱 animal moments
✨ cozy, heartfelt romance

…this one will absolutely charm you. See what I did there? 😂

This is a really cute and fun novella, with all the swoony moment you expect from this series.
We first meet Kylie & Drew in The Spite Before Christmas and it was not enough time.
Thankfully, Jessica agreed and let us in on the tea.
These two have a bitter sweet past with a sickly sweet present that I just wanted to read more of.
This could have been a full length novel and I would have eaten it up, alas it is only a short.
At least Jessica does novellas beautifully.
She wraps everything up, but still has you craving more because the story hooks you so well.
And don't worry, there are adorable pets with quirky personalities in this one too.
A Little Bit Of Luck is being released on February 26th 2026 and you should definitely spend some time with these characters.
Much love to Jessica Booth for hooking me up with an ARC!

If you love the Ruston Book series, this is a fun novella centered around St. Patrick's Day. A second-chance romance (my favorite trope) centered around Kylie and Drew, set in the small town of Ruston, LA, author Jessica Booth gives us another wonderful holiday love story. I have just read the entire series through in order to enjoy this one, but this is written so it can be read as a standalone. The mix of second chance and fake dating is delightful, and the chemistry between Drew and Kylie is hot, hot, hot.

Review:
I love this series so much. It fills my heart with joy and brings such a sense of calm in a world that can feel so heavy lately 💛✨ Jessica’s characters are kind, thoughtful, and full of heart, and there is so much love poured into every page.
Even though this is a novella, it felt like a complete and satisfying story. I was giggling, swooning, and rooting for these characters the entire time 🥹💕
I am such a sucker for a second-chance romance, and this one delivered perfectly.
What more could you ask for?
🍀 Second-chance romance
🐱 Cute cat
🐶 Adorable dog
🏡 Small-town setting
🎉 Holiday romance vibes
This can absolutely be read as a standalone, but truly, this whole series is something special, and I highly recommend diving in 💚📚

Besties - you know how I feel about novellas. It isn’t even necessarily the author’s fault, or an issue with the plot. There’s just not enough to a novella for me to be bought into it. This had no conflict, it happened so quickly. I also found that the dialogue felt stiff, due to the fast-paced nature of the storyline.

I wouldn’t rule out this author as a whole, since her full-length writing could be better than this. But this wasn’t my favorite, despite being objectively a cute, low-risk romance.

This is such a fun short and sweet novella! I loved The Spite Before Christmas so much so it was fun to see glimpses of Frank & Margie in this book too! Even though it was short the characters were fully developed and it was sweet, a little spicy, and just a fun read!

Who meets on a rollercoaster?

Who thinks about a kiss that happened in college?

Kylie and Drew do!

They are such a cute couple. Friends in college, Drew experiences a traumatic loss and abruptly moves out of Ruston.

Post-breakup, and now finding herself again, Kylie yearns to feel emotion. And boy, does she ever.

A Little Bit of Luck is a short and very cute read. The small town of Ruston, Jessica Booth has created, is cozy, welcoming with people you’d want to hang out with or somewhere you’d want to live.

I gave this book five stars…and story I wish I could read again for the first time.

Here we are back in Ruston once again, this time with Kylie and Drew.

Kylie is looking for any distraction to get over a recently break up. Her final attempt is to go on a thill seeking roller coaster ride. Who knew that the person she would end up sitting next to would be Drew, her college friend who she always hoped would end up being a little more.

Drew never thought he would want to move back to Ruston after his mom’s death but then he runs into Kylie again. After spending time together he realizes that the comfortable friendship they had and the feelings he never acted on are still there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was definitely a 5 star read for me. I have loved every book I’ve read by Jessica so far, and can’t wait to continue on with the other books she’s written and whatever’s to come.

This book was a wonderfully quick read but didn’t feel rushed, it was the perfect pallet cleanser after I dove it a really long read before this. Kylie and Drew were easy to fall in love with and I had so much fun following along with their journey.

🍀 Another great read by Jessica Booth! 🍀

I loved reading Kylie and Drew’s story. These two truly got lucky 🍀 with their second chance at love. I fell for them as they went from fake fiancés to actually dating.

And their pets!!! The second I found out the dog was a pug, I couldn’t wait. I love how Jessica includes a dog with an adorable personality in each book in this series. Woof!

If you’re looking for a quick read with a St. Patrick’s Day theme, be sure to check out A Little Bit of Luck! 🍀

Thank you, Jessica, for allowing me to read this as an ARC. It’s always a pleasure!
