Stepbrother Rules

Introducing STEPBROTHER RULES, book one of the dark and sexy new adult romance series, HIS TWISTED GAME, by Chloe Hawk…

Dark secrets and a complicated past spin together to create a tangled web of attraction that’s impossible to resist…

AVERY

He looked at me, and in that moment, I remembered why I hated him.

He was devastatingly gorgeous. Dark hair. Ripped body. Piercing blue eyes that contrasted perfectly with his dark complexion. He had a smoldering gaze that made everyone around him fall in love with him.

My friends used to joke that if Cole looked at you, you’d have your panties off by the end of the night. And it was true. He’d slept with most of my friends, and any other hot girl he happened to want.

It had been infuriating when we were younger. He’d had things handed to him because he was beautiful and smart and good at sports. No one at school had cared about the fact that he was poor or that he lived in Culver City, which everyone knew was full of drugs and prostitution.

I hated him because he was everything I wasn’t. He was outgoing, I was shy. He was smart, I made mediocre grades. He was special, I wasn’t. But the biggest reason I hated him was because he left us. He left me.

COLE

I should have left. I should have turned around and walked out of there and never came back.

But I didn’t.

Stop, I told myself. That’s your stepsister. She’s off limits.

But nothing was off limits.

I had money, good looks, and power.

And those things made it easy to get whatever you wanted.

I should have walked away.

But I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

I wanted her.

And I always got what I wanted.

I really don't know what to say about this book. Being a novella it's a shirt taste of the story of Avery and Cole, but that's not my issue. I cannot get my head around this book. One minute Averys all like 'he's my brother blah blah blah' next line she's playing with her self all pent up?! It's like a switch, there's no transgression at all. I almost can't say if I like this book and feel like I'm reading it and the next one out of a morbid curiosity.

Nope, I've no opinion at all on this, sorry. 3 stars

EXCELLENT SHORT READ!!!

Stepbrother Rules is the first book in the powerful new series, His Twisted Games by Chloe Hawk. This is a fantastic read but be aware, this is a serial. Personally I love serials but I recognize they may not be everyone's cup of tea. The story is exciting, thrilling, erotic, romantic, sensual and sexy. The dialogue is smart and well written. The characters are captivating, engaging and intriguing. Wealthy older stepbrother who managed to escape an abusive father and forced to leave everyone behind-check! Beautiful angry and abused stepsister trying to escape an abusive stepfather-check! Heated attraction and forbidden love-check! A fantastic short read!

Overall: I liked the idea for the story, but my only problem was how Avery and Cole approached each other. I felt like every other second we were reminded that they were step siblings and their relationship shouldn't be happening.

Characters: Avery & Cole

Recommend: Yes

Book?? Novella at best... took less than an hour to read. Don't get me wrong, there's the makings of a story, but definitely not enough substance to be called a "book" on it's own.

Cole went to a strip club with friends one night, and sees this chick dancing. He was interested in getting in her pants. She was hot as hell. Problem was when she turned around Cole discovered the girl was his step sister Avery that he hadn't seen in 5 years. Talk about effed up.

Avery never wanted to work in the strip club. She needed money to get out of her house fast. Her step father was coming in her room and watching her while she slept and masturbating all over her stuff. She was desperate to get out before he did something they couldn't come back from.

Cole's father is a piece of crap. He is extremely abusive and hes a sexual predator. He is constantly hitting his wife and "making her pay" for any situation he doesn't like. Avery's mother is a typical abuse victim, sticking around, hoping he will change. She makes excuse after excuse for this d-bag.

Cole decided he was going to take care of Avery. She was going to come live with him and never have to go back home again. The issue with this is they are so sexually attracted to one another they can't keep their hands to themselves. Even though there is no blood relation between them, they were raised as brother and sister, so its hard to see the relationship any other way. To make matters more interesting Cole is a Dom. YUM.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about the whole step-brother thing, but I ain't gonna lie....it didn't bother me like I thought it should. Ill be reading the rest of the story. :) PURRRRRR

This is a good beginning. It is the story of Cole and Avery. They are step-siblings, who seem to have strong feelings for each other. They have not told each other their feelings up to this point. Cole leaves home and Avery behind. They meet again when he helps her out. Avery needs a places to stay. She discovers that Cole has not forgotten about her, when she see his tattoo. You should be warned that it is a cliffhanger. I am going to read the next book to see what happens in Cole and Avery's relationship.

Great start and build to this story. I thought I was gonna be weirded out by the taboo content but I wasn't.

Cole and Avery spent time as (not sure how long) as kids. Cole day just up and left in the middle of the night. Avery is upset and broke up about it because he left her to deal with the bullshit of their life. He comes back....and then pick up.

So far it a great story. there are grammatical errors but it can be over looked. I do hate serials (especially extra short ones) but I am glad I didn't have to wait to move on to book 2.

Stepbrothers

Quick good read. Very short could've been longer. But love that it got to the point and the characters are ok. Feel like Avery is weak not putting up a fight with her stepfather and now her stepbrother. It's ok have to read the next book to see how it all unfolds.

Avery and Cole

She lives with her depressed mom and abusive step-father. The step-father, Gordon, was beating her up when Cole stepped in and took her to his apartment in Manhattan.

Interesting, I hope there isn't cheating or sharing. It seems he's possessive so it looks promising.

Mmmm not much to say about this really, it was very short and the storyline is quite complex, there seem to be many "links" in the story and because the book was so short you never got an answer.
