Podcasting about polyamory is easy. Explaining it to two well-meaning firefighters? That’s where things get interesting.
After my brother moved out to be with the loves of his life, his two best friends sublet his apartment. Which would be fine, except they kept his keys to my place. And his promise to “look after” his little sister.
Soon, Troy and Rhett are spending every night off at my place—stealing my leftovers after a long shift, or dropping off takeout to make sure I eat. And even worse? They’ve started listening to my podcast.
Everything goes sideways when they put two-and-two together and realize I never get to experience the sexy fun I love to discuss on air. They don’t know why, and I don’t tell them. Instead, they come at me with increasingly ridiculous suggestions for throuple research. Romantic dinners for the three of us. Group yoga at their gym. They even offer to put on a sexy show for me, fooling around so I can watch… all while insisting they’re not at all into each other.
And when I finally snap and tell them to just kiss each other already, everything changes.
Turns out watching Troy and Rhett discover each other is the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. And judging by the way they both start tearing at each other’s clothes, they’ve noticed how hot it is, too. And when they turn to me with hunger in their eyes, all bets are off.
Now the guys are convinced this isn’t just research, it’s destiny. And maybe they’re right. If only I had the courage to let them in.
The Care and Feeding of Meddling Himbos is a steamy MMF romance featuring two firefighter best friends who are the last to figure it out, a podcast host who’s done with their nonsense, and enough heat to set off every smoke alarm in the building. No choosing required—she gets both, and they get each other.
Him is indeed or should I say at least one Himbo putting on a good front. This is basically a cute rom com with an extra side of cheesy puns from a golden retriever who doesn’t know the word no. Sad puppy dog eyes ensue otherwise. If you want a light read, pic this one up. No real angst among the characters other than an itty bitty stalker problem, but lots of heat in this one.
A really easy read, exactly what you’d expect but maybe a bit spicier (both in spice level and number of scenes). Kinda wish there was a bit more plot tho I won’t lie.
Okay so the setup alone had me hooked. Her brother moves away, but his two best friends stay behind — and he literally asks them to look out for her. Which they do. Very thoroughly. Perhaps more thoroughly than he had in mind. 😏 What makes this work so well is that the slow build feels genuinely earned. These aren't strangers — there's already history, already comfort, already trust. Watching that shift into something more is delicious, and the forbidden-ish element of it being her brother's friends adds just the right amount of tension without it ever feeling forced. The polyamory podcast angle is such a smart touch — it gives the female lead a voice, a confidence, and a clear sense of who she is before the romance even kicks off. And the threats she receives because of it add a surprisingly gripping layer of suspense that keeps the plot moving beyond just the romance. This is not a book that coasts on heat alone, and that is a big plus. Speaking of heat — it is spicy. Properly spicy. No complaints there whatsoever. And the ending! Fully resolved, genuinely satisfying, no frustrating loose threads. In a genre where cliffhangers and "part ones" are everywhere right now, getting a complete and happy ending felt like such a treat. If you love why-choose romance with actual plot, great characters, and heat that earns its place in the story — this one is absolutely worth it.

Aimee gets her story, and her guys, in “The Care And Feeding Of Meddling Himbos”. Troy and Rhett are best friends and firefighters who are subletting the apartment across from Aimee. The guys have taken it upon themselves to keep an eye on Aimee, much to her chagrin. They seem intent on blocking her from enjoying any of her dates, and she’s more than a little annoyed. The guys really are sweet, even if they are subconsciously messing up Aimee’s dates because they’re attracted to her themselves. But when online threats to Aimee become real life danger, the guys insist on moving her into their place and things start to heat up.
The author has a great writing style and I was pretty much hooked from the first page. All three characters were well-rounded and it was so easy to root for them as a throuple. There are, of course, many very spicy times, but there is also a lot of heart and joy. I’ve enjoyed this series from the start, and finally getting Aimee’s story was everything I hoped it would be. You might be tempted to read this one because of the spice, but you’ll find there are a lot of sweet and savory moments, too. Recommended.

Kristin Lance's The Care And Feeding of Meddling had me smiling from beginning to end. I have wanted Aimee’s story ever since she was introduced in Gamer Rules, and the Aimee Position series felt like the perfect buildup to her long awaited standalone. That said, this works beautifully as a standalone, so new readers can jump in without missing a thing.
I loved the rom-com energy at the start, especially when Aimee’s dates keep getting hilariously cock blocked by two very sexy firefighters. That chaos slowly builds into a spicy MMF romance about halfway through. The evolution of the bromance adds so much heart to the developing dynamic.
Aimee’s personal growth is another highlight. She gives great advice on her podcast, yet her own life is a mess. Watching her stop and ask what Podcast Aimee would say, or what advice she would give a listener, was both funny and surprisingly heartfelt. Her journey to finding her voice feels authentic and earned.
The story is spicy, funny, and full of heart. If you have been waiting for Aimee’s story like I have, it absolutely delivers. And if you are new to this world, this is a perfect place to start.

The text of “The Care and Feeding of Meddling Himbos” is as full of wit and humor as the title. The MCs have all known each other for years, and the MMCs have been best friends for years, so there’s a pre-relationship level of trust and care for each other that allows them to go from 0 to 60 in one kiss each.
One of the things that I loved was Aimee’s responses to the various actions of her stalker; at one point you spend about half a page wondering if she’s about to be the idiot character who goes off on their own without a flashlight in a haunted house, but instead she tells herself the same advice she’d give someone who called into her podcast, and then she follows her own advice (she does that more than once).
I also love that the MMC perspective chapters are as much about their relationship with each other as with Aimee. The throuple really is equal in every side of the triangle.
The spice on this one is 4/5 ghost peppers; hot, hot, hot!.

Book 3 in The Aimee Position series, The Care and Feeding of Meddling Himbos let us finally meet Aimee, the voice behind the podcast. And with her, we find her two neighbours, Troy and Rhett.
The story follows the three, and their growing and deepening relationship, from friends to lovers. I really enjoyed the different aspects of the three characters: Troy, used to always being left behind or forgotten, Aimee and her trust issues, Rhett and his need to mask emotions with humor.
While the stakes aren't that high, and the evolution of the relationship tends to cute and steady rather than soul changing, I really liked the emotional depth of all the characters, how each one has to battle with their insecurities and past demons to reach happiness.
There's plenty of spice in the story, which breaks the narrative and gives some respite from the more intense emotional side, while the podcast subplot grounds the story, making it stand out more.
Overall, this is a cute, low stakes read, and a nice addition to the series.
4.5 stars. This story is triple POV, well written, and a sweet and spicy, neighbours/brother’s best friends, contemporary erotic ménage a trois romantic comedy between Aimee, the female podcaster lead, and firefighter leads, Troy, the male dominant, and Rhett, the male submissive. I enjoyed Aimee’s entrepreneurial attitude and empathised with the difficulty of online trolling. I enjoyed Rhett’s playfulness and his joyful acceptance of himself. I enjoyed Troy’s calmer charm and empathised with his initial reticence to pursue his interest. I chuckled at the boys’ antics in the name of protection. I appreciated how disability and neurodiversity were woven into the story, rather than highlighted. I enjoyed the building spicy scenes and the developing pair relationships within the triad. I enjoyed the respect and consent between all characters. I enjoyed the happy ending.

An amazing reverse harem story. Aimee is fed up of always finding Rhett and Troy in her apartment. Her brother had asked them to look out for her. But they keep coming over at all times and ruining her dates. Rhett and Troy have wanted Aimee for a long time and Troy also wants Rhett. When Aimee dares Troy to kiss Rhett he accepts and the kiss has Rhett feeling things he never had. Rhett starts wanting Troy but he is also crushing on Aimee. When a stalker sends Aimee snakes in a box both Rhett and Troy want her to stay with them till the stalker was caught. This leads to them sleeping together. But Aimee has been hurt in the past. Will Aimee accept that Rhett and Troy love her? Loved reading their story. Thanx.

Aimee and her podcast the Aimee Position has featured in previous books in the series, and she now gets her story. Her neighbours are her brother’s friends Troy and Rhett, who have taken it upon themselves to look out for her. Annoyingly this has resulted in them scaring off her dates. She isn’t as confident and put together as you might think though, and when a stalker starts escalating threats towards her, Troy and Rhett rush to protect her. The intense and longstanding attraction between the three of them inevitably leads to a more intimate relationship. I loved the vulnerability between the men and the kittens but not the whining, bratty behaviour, and seemingly sudden submissiveness of Rhett towards Troy. The seriousness of the stalker situation was a bit at odds with the fluffy tone of the of the rest of the story too.
Amiee has a successful podcast where she gives advice on unconventional relationships but leads to a stalker but she is really did not take it seriously til a package that has a bunch of snakes in it. Her brother has asked his friends, Troy and Rhett to keep an eye in her since he moved away to be with his with his loves. First she helps them discover their feeling for each other and when he stalker figures out where she lives they come to her rescue and makes her stay with them. She hears a private conversation and they want her together. How will she fit in their relationship? She does not want to break them up but could she have the same thing her brother has, only time will tell.

This was a fab finale and I enjoyed finally getting Aimee's story. She does podcasts and her new neighbours, Troy and Rhett, are firefighters. They moved into her brother's apt and have taken it upon themselves to keep an eye on her. These guys are so sweet and it was funny that they didn't realize they were sabotaging her dates because they were crushing on her, themselves ;) As you may imagine, she gets rather miffed with them but when real danger shows up, they move her into their apt... This was such a fun read that really hit some sweet moments but also some more serious ones. There's plenty of spice, as well, and it leads to a fab HEA. I really enjoyed this one and would definitely welcome more books set in this world :D
This was the sweetest book. It was relatively low angst and so much fun. There was a lot of drama and even a little bit of suspense. The spicy scenes were really spicy, and oh, so good. Both MMCs were super hot and kind. The FMC was a content creator and a little on the shy side. There are stalker issues in this book. Parts of this book were so heartwarming and a little emotional. The pace was perfect and it moved the story along. The author created a happy story with a good balance of turmoil. The three main characters were pretty good at communicating their feelings, which I loved. I would definitely recommend this book.

Book 3 of The Aimee Position series. Can be read as a standalone but why would you?!
'No choosing required—she gets both, and they get each other.'
The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

I'm pretty certain after reading this story that I will never look at a box of donuts again and not think of all the dirty things you can do with them. This book is super steamy, has a little bit of suspense, has hot firefighters and adorable kittens. So much fun reading about these two adorable men who are clueless on how to "watch" their best friend's little sister and watching Aimee finally get her poly relationship after years of mentoring others on theirs.

Love, love, love this book. The FMC has appeared in a couple other books. She’s strong, intelligent and independent. The MMCs are her brothers friends. They are just supposed to be making sure she’s safe after he moves away. They come together in a sweet way. This book is really spicy. The HEA is fantastic. I wish it was a bit longer.

As the story begins, Aimee has her podcast, which covers a somewhat controversial topic. Interestingly, she knows two firefighters - Troy and Rhett. They are her older brother's friends. They mean well and want to help look out for her. But it turns out that they are pretty good at getting on her nerves. As Aimee keeps working hard on her podcast, she announces a bold observation that gets things really fired up. I enjoyed this steamy, hot romantic comedy story.
Aimee finally gets her story. We've been reading Aimee as a secondary character providing advice from her podcast so it is great to finally read her story. Troy and Rhett are her brother's friends and lovable himbos living across from her loft. They all have been secretly crushing on each other until circumstances pushes them together. It was a low drama fun read. Totally enjoyed it.

I don't think I could have picked a better book to refresh my love of why choose novels. The humor and wit found throughout is genuine and added a delightful layer to character development. I also enjoyed the modern setting, and the fact that our MC's jobs were still relativity at the forefront of the plot. But by far what charmed me most are these three. They were all unique from one another and multi-layered; so much so that I felt like a friend reading their story instead of an outsider. I also am SO happy to report no third act breakup!!!! That doesn't mean there isn't a healthy dose of bumps in the road and learning how to grow with one another, but that only added to the development. Also, I am hands DOWN the biggest fan of "my boyfriends are boyfriends" trope, and this book just proved it. The spice with any (and all) pairings was absolute delicious, and left me wanting more. But!! the balance between spice and plot was perfectly done.
Feelings on Fire Aimee is frankly tired of her brother’s best friends and neighbours, Rhett and Troy, busting into her apartment and wrecking her dates. They mean well, but they’re a bit too…much. I loved these three - the journey of discovery Troy and Rhett go through was touching, Aimee was fantastic, and Olive and Cheeto were so darn cute! Truly, I loved all of the stories in this series - they were such a blast to read!
A sexy read with podcaster Aimee and her brother's two best friends, firefighters Rhett and Troy, who are also her neighbors. The men are longtime friends who suddenly can't keep their hands off each other, whilst thinking of Aimee too. A spicy why choose read with MMF, filthy minds, banter and longtime friends turned lovers.

Loved this story. It had everything; the pining, the secret crushes, the self discovery, the chemistry, danger and drama, and the final letting down of walls to accepting love. Ticked all my boxes and would recommend.
