Sara's Secrets

Rate this book
On the sacred heights of Montserrat, thirteen-year-old Sara receives a vision that will shape the course of her life, a luminous woman bearing a whisper of memory, loss, and awakening. So begins a journey across lands and centuries, through the wilds of Gaul, the temples of Ephesus, the sacred groves of Compostela, and the edge of the Atlantic where the world seems to end. Born between tongues, raised as a migrant, Sara becomes the secret thread binding apostles, exiles, and ancient faiths.

Carrying the bones of James and a black stone gifted by Mary, she is more than a witness, she is a vessel of what must be remembered. She walks among Druids and disciples, where Gaia meets Christ, and the Mother takes many names: Mary, Artemis, Astarte, Kâli. Her faith is not in dogma, but in mystery, in the quiet fire of truth passed through hands and stories.

Sara bears secrets too great for a child, and questions too large for a single world. But it is her path to walk toward the rising sun.

Hello, I’m Bernard Grisoni.

Much of my professional life was devoted to developing medical devices. Though I hold a PhD in physics, it was a deeper curiosity—about the human soul and the nature of willpower—that set me on a lifelong spiritual journey. Along the way, I explored the teachings of many of the world’s great religions, past and present—an exploration that continues to shape and inspire my writing.
As an archaeology enthusiast, I’ve had the joy of visiting many of the ancient sacred sites that appear in my novels.

My first novel explores the intertwining destinies of Sophia and Tesimo, two seekers separated by thousands of years. It’s a thrilling adventure with spiritual depth—perfect for readers who loved The Alchemist.

In my second novel, Ark of Secrets, I follow Sophia again - this time alongside Roland, a young peasant in 12th-century France. Their parallel paths uncover a forgotten wisdom passed down through generations and hidden within the Knights Templar. It’s a gripping historical mystery that fans of The Da Vinci Code will enjoy.

My most recent novel, Sara’s Secrets, seeks to uncover when this ancient knowledge was absorbed into early Christianity. Set against the backdrop of Roman Gaul, it follows a young girl’s spiritual awakening - interweaving ancient traditions, lost sanctuaries, and encounters with Mary, James, and Magdalene - not as icons, but as living, struggling humans. From the shores of Gaul to the edge of the known world, Sara’s Secrets is a journey through faith, exile, and rediscovery.

Sara’s Secrets is a beautifully written and unexpectedly enriching read. Grisoni’s narrative is not only engaging but also layered with depth, history, and meaning.

One of the aspects I loved most was the richness of the geographical descriptions. Each location feels alive, textured and immersive.

Additionally, the book is filled with thought-provoking questions and poignant reflections. Grisoni raises ideas that feel both timeless and relevant, prompting me to pause and consider how the themes resonate today.

The most compelling element, though, was the exploration of the biblical figure Sara. I enjoyed learning about her history and significance. Grisoni’s portrayal encouraged a genuine desire for me to research the historical and spiritual context surrounding her life.

This book is a rewarding and meaningful read, rich in setting, intellectually engaging, and historically illuminating. Sara’s Secrets invites both reflection and discovery and should not be missed.

This is a fictional biblical story about Sara. As a young girl, she has a vision that she can't understand, but knows it's important. When she and her family come across a group of people that have been run from their land - Mary, Mary Magdalene and James among them - Sara knows it's her destiny to be with them and help them spread the word in her part of the world. As the story progresses, Sara eventually returns with Mary and James to Jerusalem where the other apostles are.

I had a difficult time reviewing this book, as the genre just isn't for me. However, I thought the writing was very good and the story itself was solid. Someone who is interested in biblical stories would likely really like this one, so I'm ranking it as a solid book, just not a book for me personally.

I received an advance review copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I received a free digital copy of this book in a give-a-way for an honest review.

Readers should be cautioned that this tale focuses on spirituality, faith and numerous religions, especially Christianity. However. if that is not a deal breaker, this novel is worth the read.

"Sara's Secrets" is well written and evocative. I enjoyed seeing this story through Sara's eyes.

Wow - what an incredible book! You will find yourself immersed in the sights, the smells, the thoughts of a 13-year-old girl with a vision and a task too big for small shoulders. This book is a combination of fantasy, religious beliefs, spiritual journeys, dedication and vision. You name it, this book has it.

An interesting read.

Being a non Christian I found this story intriguing. I took my time reading it in hopes of something remarkable. For me, it wasn't there.
