BLOODMONEY is a dark romance set in a brutal, capitalistic dystopia where the world is quietly controlled by an anonymous society of elite vampires. In this system, the majority are forced to purchase blood through a regulated healthcare network. And as for hunting humans? Well, that's a crime punishable by lobotomy.
The story follows Phillip Arlington, a violent, morally complicated vampire who hunts ravenously. Pre-selecting a middle aged man that frequents Gentleman's club to be his next victim, Phillip awaits the opportunity to make his first move, until plans derail. Entranced by a mysterious dancer named Cleo, whose tender words promise an easy hunt for Phillip, it ignites a dangerous chain of obsession, manipulation, and the thin line between predator and prey. Cleo has her own agenda. Phillip has his own demons. Neither of them are safe from what they begin to feel.
Bloodmoney explores themes of trauma, control, redemption, and blurs devotion with destruction. With tons of spice and tropes like obsession, psychological unraveling, and dubiously redemptive love, it originates as a love letter, and now for readers who crave stories that are equal parts unhinged and deeply tender.
I just finished this book and I’m still shook. It was sexy, intriguing, and completely captivating from start to finish. The writing style pulled me in immediately I couldn’t put it down. And that revelation? I did not see it coming. Apollo truly did his thing with this one. If you haven’t read it yet, go read it right now. It’s that good.
This book was really good! It is single pov but love the fact it's from the males perspective. Most books aren't that way and so it stands out. I love the fact this book is a romance book written by a male! this was amazing and hope to see book 2 at some point in the future!!!
I was selected as an ARC reader for this book, and I am so glad I was! I'm a sucker for vampires as it is, but I honestly was surprised with the take on them in this. The author does an amazing job of putting you in the MMC's head as you read. You can feel everything from his strife to his pleasure as you go, even from the first few pages. In a world where the elite "control" the monopoly on blood and vampires have insurance, understanding the main character was an essential part of plot development and understand the basis of why strip clubs are important! Andddd on the basis of strip clubs? Cleo is absolute PHENOMENAL. The depictions of her seem a little "overkill" initially, but again, they're from the mindset of the MMC so you're getting a depiction of her from how he sees her and it's just beautiful. Their chemistry is absolutely off the charts, and the banter is so much fun between the two of them. Without giving spoilers, their cat and mouse game of will he, won't he keeps you on your toes and you absolutely feel the spiraling of the characters, especially Phillip, as they come to terms with one another and what they absolutely need to do. The little plot twists surrounding Cleo are a blast and even made me shake my head that I didn't catch them initially, but her bad*ss FMC vibe doesn't lack any and actually becomes more understandable! I just really want to rave about this book but I can't without spoiling it! It does end on a happier note than I actually expected knowing it was book one in a series, but it's still a little bit of a cliffhanger that leads into book two. The author definitely sets the stage and leaves you waiting to see where the story goes and impatiently waiting on book two!
Did I finish this book in one sitting?!? YES!!! I INHALED this book with an intensity that is borderline scary! Cleo is an AMAZING FMC and I support her in absolutely all of her endeavors. And Philip??? I’ve never met a more pathetically down bad man in my LIFE!!!
I can’t really say too much because I don’t want to give away spoilers, but I will say the Apollo has created a very dark, twisted, spicy world that felt so completely immersive it should be studied. My jaw is STILL on the floor and my brain hurts in the best way possible. I love love LOVED this!!!
Thank you to Apollo Infinity for the eARC and thank you Kaitlynd for putting this book and its incredible author on our radar!!!
I received an ARC of this story, and wow! What a journey! I rated this a 4.5 rounded up to a 5!
Stories written with the MMC as the main POV are not my usual reads, but the story line and plot twists really kept me engaged and pulled in.
Both the MMC and the FMC were written with great backstories and character development throughout the book. I was shocked at how invested I became by each of their journeys.
Without giving away any spoilers, I can say without a doubt there is no way you will not be surprised by the twist and turns of this book. I generally find myself guessing the twists in advance, and I was pleasantly surprised within this story and got to enjoy those moments of my jaw dropping with shock.
This is my first book by this author, and I really enjoyed his writing style. The spice level is THERE with these characters and their chemistry is off the charts.
I was chosen as an ARC reader for this book. It took me a total of 7 hours to read. The plot twist had me screaming, gasping, and holding on to the edge of my seat for dear life. They became more intense as they continued to come in unexpected ways. The author has amazing sentence structure and the ability to draw me into the world of the book. He was able to tell the background information on the FMC and the MMC without making it boring and sounding like directions. This author was captivating from the first chapter. I enjoyed the fact that both of the main characters were sassy and savage towards each other. I found myself laughing at a few of Philip's comebacks towards Cleo. The biggest plot twist came in the last chapter, and it made me squeal with delight. Nowhere in the book did I see any of the events of the last chapter coming. I definitely recommend this book. I will be buying a physical copy as soon as possible!
To start off when I started this book I thought it was similar to other dark stories, but as I continued to read I was surprised, A Infiniti writing is very detailed, and a much heavier style, pulling you in as up go. There are a lot of inner POV thoughts and I was also surprised at the twist in this book ( I was not expecting some of them) . The relationship between Phillip who is very dark but has his funny moments and Cleo who is a strong, no messing Fmc , is a bit to get your head around but written with very high spice. I really enjoyed this book and I was given an advance ARC copy. My review is my own and is impartial
Fresh take on classic lore with relatable characters. Not predictable with exciting story full of twists. Kept me on my toes and interested the entire book, can’t wait to see where this series goes in the book(s) to come.
I just love when my friends give me books I can eat up like my favorite dish! Apollo really gave us an MMC who’s down bad for the baddie FMC? Ugh! Loooove! This story was so sexy, twisted and delicious! I love Apollo’s writing style! It kept me interested and I quite enjoyed the way he pulls you into that plot. I felt like a little fly on the wall and lowkey felt like I was interrupting the main characters sometimes too 🤭
I could smell Cleo through the pages! lol need a perfume inspired by her ASAP!!!
Over all, I had a fun time! If you’re looking for something quick to satiate that dark appetite, this is the book for you!
Bloodmoney is a dark, addictive read with a really unique dystopian vampire world. The idea of blood being controlled through a healthcare system while elite vampires secretly run everything is such a cool concept, and it creates a gritty, brutal atmosphere that pulls you in fast.
Phillip is a messy, morally gray character in the best way—dangerous, complicated, and hard to look away from. His dynamic with Cleo is intense and full of tension, obsession, and manipulation, which makes their relationship really compelling to watch unfold.
If you like dark romance with flawed characters, lots of spice, and a story that leans into the chaos while still having emotional depth, this one is definitely worth checking out. Apollo has so many strengths and the brilliance shines brightly through this piece.
If you want something that grabs your attention and holds you like a tight vice and escape into another world, this is for you!
From the start of this book I was captivated. Strong Female and Male lead. Sabotage, love, action. This book will take you on a wild ride, be prepared!
This book is WILD and I loved every minute of it. I loved that it's equal parts freak shit and social commentary. Genuinely a really unpredictable read. Lost my mind at the couple of twists at the end. Highly recommend to anyone who likes romance with some edge to it!! Definitely veers into "dead dove don't eat" territory, so this book is for the girlies who look for that kind of thing on purpose.
I received this as an ARC from the author. I absolutely devoured this novel. I thought this story was going to go one way but to my surprise IT WENT SOMEWHERE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and I couldn’t be happier. Philip and Cleo were caliente and I needed more from the book. There’s yearning, begging, worshiping women, need I ask for more? YES! WHERE IS BOOK 2??
I loved the mix of smut and plot. The characters were great and I loved the confidence and attitude coming from Cleo. The story was great and I'll definitely end up re-reading it. I love the switch up of being from the male POV.
I was graciously selected as an ARC reader for this book. I am a sucker for a nice vampire book and this book slaps. Bloodmoney is very different from previous books I’ve read as this book is told from the MMC POV. The MMC (Philip) and FMC (Cleo) both had well-explained backstories, great chemistry between the two, and the spice… 😏 (don’t wanna give anything away). Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will probably re-read when I need a comfort book (yes, my comfort books are sometimes my dark books, leave me be 😂).
Bloodmoney is an indie debut, and honestly? The writing itself is pretty solid for a first book. You can absolutely see the effort and the potential here. With some additional editing for flow, it could be even stronger! There were moments where the prose felt a bit mechanical or stiff, but overall, the author clearly has a story to tell and the skill to tell it.
Before reading - please keep the trigger warning in mind! I love how the triggers were written in this book, the story telling style instead of a list was fun! BUT I underestimated a few of them (as mentioned below) and it did disengage me from the book at points. There are no explicit spoilers below, but something’s can be deduced so move forward with caution.
That said… my issues with this book are almost entirely personal taste.
I prefer my plot-to-erotica ratio to sit around 50/50 or even 75/25. This book felt more like 25/75 - erotica with a side of plot…and at times the plot itself felt more like a vehicle to move us from one spicy scene to the next rather than the main event. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably have a great time. For me, it made the story feel a bit thin.
I also really didn’t vibe with the dynamic between the FMC and MMC. The unprompted use of “daddy/mommy” (I don’t think mommy was used directly but man was it FELT) during spicy scenes gave me major ick, and it happened often enough that I’m pretty sure I had a permanent, exaggerated frown on my face while reading. On top of that, I learned something new about myself: I do NOT like groveling men. It’s just not my cup of tea.
All of that said - if you’re looking for an erotica-forward read where the FMC gives strong “bad mommy” energy and the MMC is deeply grateful for the privilege of worshipping at her feet… this book might be exactly what you’re looking for. Even though I didn’t enjoy that dynamic, it was very well written. The author definitely knows how to write a specific kind of power exchange and character dynamic.
The book also has an interesting take on vampires and vampirism - it actually reminded me a bit of True Blood with the whole “vampires trying to mainstream into society” angle and the growing pains that come with that. Since this feels like the first book in a series, though, some of the lore and background dumps felt a little forced, unnecessary, and even far-fetched at times.
Overall: 3/5. I hated the micro-tropes, didn’t really care for either MC, but the writing itself is promising - and I do think the author has a unique story to tell. My yuck might very well be someone else’s yum. Please read if you enjoy some of the things discussed above!
I’m a total sucker for vampires, but I was blown away by this unique take! A. Infiniti’s writing is heavy, detailed, and incredibly immersive, pulling you into a world where elites control the blood monopoly and vampires actually have insurance.
The Characters: The author puts you directly into Phillip’s head—you feel every ounce of his strife and pleasure. He is dark, complex, and surprisingly funny. And then there’s Cleo. She is a phenomenal, "no-messing" badass FMC. Their chemistry is absolutely off the charts, fueled by a cat-and-mouse game and banter that kept me on my toes.
The Heat & Plot: Fair warning: the spice is high and written beautifully. I loved that the intense descriptions of Cleo reflect Phillip’s obsessed POV. The plot twists surrounding her identity totally caught me off guard, making her character even more impressive.
The Verdict: It ends on a surprisingly happy note but leaves just enough of a cliffhanger to have me dying for Book 2! If you want a dark, high-heat urban fantasy that breaks the mold, this is it.
(I received an ARC of this book and am leaving this honest, impartial review.)
Please make sure you read the trigger page before reading this book. There are some touchy subjects talked about as was as mature content and gore.
With that being said I really enjoyed this book.
The characters have a lot of depth and the story is easy to read while still keeping you in your toes. I definitely did not expect how the book ended but now I need a second book to find out what happens with the characters.
The spice in this book is absolutely phenomenal, but one of their scenes in particular might make you question you're sanity for picky a book with a gore filled spicy scene
A book having a trigger warning is always a green flag in my opinion because it shows that while the book may contain dark subjects, the author cares for the readers mental health and wants to prepare them. Most trigger warnings are just a list of things but I like how this author kind of elaborated on how the triggers are used within the story to help you decide a little bit more if it is something you can handle.
Blood Money A. Infiniti. This is a dark, ambitious book with a strong and original concept. The vampire world and hierarchy felt fresh and different from anything I’ve read before, which immediately pulled me in. I also really appreciated the strong female lead—she’s confident, intelligent, and constantly challenges the male lead, often trying to push him out of his own self-destructive patterns rather than enabling them. The writing is very detailed and leans heavily into inner thoughts, symbolism, and atmosphere, which creates a strong mood but also slows the pacing and makes this less of a casual read at times. Some sections felt a bit overwritten, especially during extended POV moments, and I found myself skimming in places; however, once you adjust to the heavier writing style, the unique concept and character dynamics make the book worth the effort for readers who enjoy complex, layered, and darker stories.
I am a sucker (pun on words) for vampires! Bloodmoney is a world that is controlled by the "Elite" vampires. Most are being made to purchase their meals (blood) from a network. And actually hunting for humans is a big NO NO - punishable by lobotomy. Well, Phillip does his own thing but hunting middle aged men that go to the "Gentleman's Club". But lo and behold one stripper grabs his attention. But Cleo is a creature he doesn't know about. Phillip has demons. I was absolutely obsessed with this book and story. So glad this will be a series because Apollo has me needing more from him and this story! Spice, obsession, redemption, love, trauma, & control all in one well written addictive book. Can not wait for the next book. I received an advance review copy at no cost and am leaving this review voluntarily. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I was chosen to be an ARC Reader and I was absolutely shocked when I found out this was the author’s debut novel. The storyline encompasses so many of the types of books I enjoy reading which made this read incredibly fun for me.
Without giving too much away…
If you enjoy mob storylines, vampires and a hot spice level - you are absolutely going to LOVE this book. There are so many twists and turns and there aren’t chapters upon chapters of world and character building (which was a plus for me).
You may think you know where this story is going when you read the first few pages, but you have NO idea.
*This book deserves a 3.5 to be fair. However, whenever I’m rating a debut novel, I feel there is always ways to improve and get better which is why I don’t give 4s or 5s. I am anxious to see what else comes from the author if this first book is any indication.
Bloodmoney is a dark and tempting book that will keep you on the edge throughout out the book.
You will be pulled into a world of power, hunger, an obsession where nothing is clean and no one is innocent with both the Phillip and Cleo.
Bloodmoney will give you morally grey corrupt characters, tension, and chemistry that will have your heart rate spiking from the spicy senes alone as well as the plot.
You will get hooked from the first chapter and struggle to put the book down especially if you’re into dark, morally grey stories then this book is definitely for you.
Bloodmoney ends beautifully if you want to end it there, but I do know it’s part of a series and can’t wait for book 2 now as I want to follow the the growth both of Phillip and Cleo to the end.
Bloodmoney is arguably one of my favorite books i have read and it kept me on the edge on my seat the entire time. All of the plot twists were unexpected and insane to read! I love the idea of being a male main character and hearing all of his thoughts and feelings. You dont see it often in books and to show the vulnerable parts of a male character and the battles he faces in his head are so important to the story line. Not to mention the spiciness of the book!! The spicy scenes were written so beautifully! The descriptions of the main female characters beauty in the eyes of the male character were so beautiful and have absolutely set my standards to the highest level. if my partner doesnt worship me like philip does i dont want it.
I was selected as an ARC reader, this did not disappoint! This book was exactly what I needed! I kept wanting more and couldn’t put it down! Exceptionally written, vampires, blood, depth, SPICE, and so much more! I am eager to see what’s next (quite literally can’t wait)…..and the twists. So much different than what I expected, in the best way! So many dark vampire books seem repetitive and this is far beyond any other I’ve read. I don’t like spoilers but this is a must read, nothing bored me here not even the character backgrounds. I will have a physical copy of this when it comes out.
“Show me what it would take to make you feel like a god”
-Vampire/human, secret society, -morally black MMC -Firecracker FMC 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Bloodlust is absolute torment when your at the bottom of the ladder. Especially when the society favors its rich. Step out of line? You’ll be hunted. Phillip and Cleo find an attraction they can’t let go of even though they run on opposite sides of the coin. Both have their own demons to share. I’m excited to see where this book goes from here!
This book is absolutely amazing. From the world building to the perspective its written in; you get lost in its pages. This is not a novel for the faint of heart, though it is an absolute page turner. The author writes in such a way you can really visualize the settings, smell the scents. As I was reading I found myself shocked, how could a first time novelist write something so compelling. Give this a proper chance and PLEASE read the trigger warnings. I promise you won't be disappointed.
I was able to begin my journey into this world as an ARC reader and am anticipating its full release! The world building is so descriptive! A. Infiniti has such a way with imagery. The book tastefully presents the storyline in a mix of being character and plot driven. You get invested as early as page one and by the end you're craving more. (Cleo, you will forever and always be my queen).
I had the pleasure of reading blood money and ate the book up🍽️! I love that we got a morally gray mmc but a baddie fmc that does not play! The book had me at the edge of my seat the whole time and how everything unfolded was so satisfying! Can’t wait to read more and will definitely be recommending to other dark romance readers😊
