There's definitely been a bit more action in this one, and a few more reveals such as confirmation on the identity of "mask guy", a reveal on the orochi vessel, and the death (or "death"?) of Tenka. Hard to say if they're gone for good at this stage with a cliffhanger ending like that.

Chapter 9. Well the disguise that Sora’s wearing seems to be pretty thorough, so that’s good. But is he going to end up with the masked guy?

So Tenka has a scar over his spine from mask dude… Seems pretty lucky that he didn’t end up paralysed from that tbh.

Chapter 11. Who caused the explosion? Was it Shrasu (and black-ops guy) to use as a distraction to get Sora?

Tenka’s sick, which is not at ALL a surprise given his bad decision in the previous chapter to be naked in the rain.

Amo el drama, cualquier reseña mía que le siga a esa oración puede ser poco objetiva xD ME ENCANTA LA RELACIÓN DE LOS TRES HERMANOS KUMOH. Me parece súper bonita y conmovedora, desde Tenka haciéndose cargo de todo él solo, sin dejar que lo ayuden porque cree que siendo el mayor es su deber, hasta Soramaru buscando su reconocimiento como igual, como si quiera gritarle: no estás solo, déjame ayudarte con tu carga!!! También me gusta que Chutarou no participe demasiado, teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, tiene sentido que él siempre se encuentre en las nubes, divirtiéndose porque sus hermanos lo quieren. En cuanto a la trama, parece que ahora se complicará mucho más. A pesar de haber visto el anime, no recuerdo casi nada así que ESA escena me partió de nuevo el corazón. De los 3 tomos que van, este ha sido mi favorito; los personajes ya están bien definidos, la trama se encamina mejor y el arte es precioso, todo muy bien ambientado.

Saya suka dramanya, review saya yang mengikuti kalimat itu mungkin tidak objektif xD
Saya merasa hubungan tiga bersaudara itu sangat indah dan mengharukan, dari Tenka mengurus semuanya sendiri, tanpa membiarkan mereka membantunya karena dia percaya bahwa menjadi yang tertua adalah tugasnya, hingga Soramaru yang mencari pengakuan setara, seolah-olah dia ingin berteriak padanya kakaknya: kamu tidak sendirian, biarkan aku membantumu dengan bebanmu!!! Saya juga suka bahwa Chutarou tidak terlalu terlibat, mengingat hal di atas, masuk akal jika dia selalu di awan, bersenang-senang karena saudara-saudaranya mencintainya.
Adapun plot, tampaknya sekarang akan menjadi jauh lebih rumit. Meskipun telah melihat animenya, saya hampir tidak ingat apa-apa sehingga adegan itu menghancurkan hati saya lagi. Dari 3 volume yang keluar, ini adalah favorit saya; karakternya sudah terdefinisi dengan baik, plotnya lebih terarah dan artworknya indah, semuanya diatur dengan sangat baik.

Soramaru desperately wants Abe no Sousei – Yamainu’s leader- to teach him. He wants to catch up to his older brother Tenka. Sora first needs to complete a task for the Yamainu: infiltrate Gokumonjo and investigate the strange dealings going on there.

But will he find more than what he bargains for? Living nightmares? Or a possible ally? What will they learn about Orochi’s vessel?

I like that Sora is coming to terms with some things. He still has room for growth… but at what cost?
Tenka still makes the manga funny! I love his antics! He has always been my favorite. Still is!
This volume really gets you in the feels. So angsty! It moved me to tears!

This third volume’s ending had me in tears! The rest of the story was alright but I kept getting confused as to what was going on. It didn’t feel like it was being explained enough as things progressed.

I’m still not entirely sure what the point of a certain plot point was. I hope it is better explained in the next volumes and that we were purposefully left in the dark for this reason.

The ending did leave me wanting to continue as it ends on quite a cliffhanger so I most likely will! But overall, this volume wasn’t my favourite of the series so far.

Il volume è un crescendo di grandi rivelazioni (forse troppe in un solo volume) fino allo straziante epilogo. Non c'è alcun margine di dubbio? Non ci voglio credere...

Nel mentre, la questione degli shinobi si è fatta complessa: di discendenti dei Fuma doveva esserne rimasto uno solo, ossia Shirasu, ma in questo volume troviamo ben tre discendenti di questa stirpe di shinobi e la faccenda non mi piace per nulla. Spero che Shirasu non stia nascondendo qualcosa ai danni dei fratelli Kumo.

I'll be taking Tenka's advice by laughing at the fool I was when I thought this was going to be a light-hearted read once the rivers stop running down my face.

Me imagino lo triste que debe ser para muchas personas este volumen, y probablemente lo es, pero no me llegó la muerte de este personaje como los dos capítulos especiales. Me encanta leer historias íntimas, donde se sienta ese apego por esos personajes, pero aquí terminó siendo una muerte evidente, era una crónica de una muerte anunciada. Lo más destacable es el carisma que irradian los personajes, pero que sinceramente me han dejado un poco indiferentes ante lo ocurrido.

This series is amazing, but this volume is probably the most emotional. I’d seen the anime before starting the manga and a certain scene in this still hurts.

Between the manga and the anime though, I’m starting to like the manga more. I absolutely love the anime and movies too! I’m also an absolute sucker for brotherly love stuff. These three brothers are so entertaining and sweet!

But now I need to continue the series with the way this volume ended!

Uff, der Band war hart - vor allem das Ende.. 🫠
Aber es war auch alles so gut! Soramaru ist hier klar im Fokus und so hat er eine tragende Rolle. Um stärker zu werden, geht er einen Deal ein.. währenddessen trifft er auf jemanden, der seine Erinnerungen an seine Vergangenheit hervorruft. Und dann Tenka.. bin sehr gespannt, wie’s weitergeht! ❤️‍🔥

This historical manga takes place in the Meiji era and follows the story of the Kumo brothers, who ferry inmates to an inescapable prison in the middle of Lake Biwa. Meanwhile, an elite military group arrives searching for the vessel of Orochi, a serpent demon reborn every 300 years, bringing destruction to the land. In this third volume, we get some of the brothers' history and I definitely needed a box of tissues at the end. So emotional! Highly recommended to manga readers who enjoy historical fantasy. Thank you to TOKYOPOP and NetGalley for the advance digital copy to read and review.

This is an intense volume. The characters are being fleshed out. We get to see inside the prison. The orochi reference that was familiar to me is from Naruto; Orochimaru. I wonder what happens in the next volume.

Soramaru regains his memory thanks to the man in the fox mask, who seems to be the author of many crimes that wipe out entire families. Apparently, Shirasu's family is far from extinct. The finale takes a dramatic turn.
