Spice ✔️
Emotional turmoil ✔️
Humour ✔️
Heart ✔️
Action ✔️

I cried. Many times. I laughed. Again many times.

It felt like I went through every emotion I could in this final instalment of the cursed queen series. I loved it, truly. Meg has done such a fantastic job not writing 1 but 4 books (so far 👀) in her career & I’ve been sucked into the her world from day dot.

Look I even cried at her acknowledgments page about her husband, I was ruined, RUINED emotionally.

I loved the characters, their journeys were wonderful (and traumatic) to go through, and honestly I want to know more about them. That’s the beauty of this series, even though it’s closed a chapter you still want to know what’s next, what happens with this person and this, and that’s when you know the author has sucker punched into your soul.

I’m so grateful I’ve been able to read such a wonderful series so early on in Meg’s author career and I can’t wait to see what she does next. 💜✨

Something I will take from what Meg wrote was this “If only I could give grace to myself.”

I think as people we forget to be kind to ourselves, to not add so much pressure & strain to our personal and professional lives, and I’m gonna try and remind myself to give myself grace when things get tough, or work gets stressful or I’m not happy with how I look etc. Because ultimately we’re human, as much as we’d like to be witches… or an elf I’m not too picky 😉.

But with that I want to say if you haven’t read this series. If you see this book (series) on your socials, good reads, Amazon etc PLEASE I BEG YOU, to read it.

Im sitting here with eyes raw from crying so hard!!
What an amazing ending to this series. I have been lucky enough to ARC read each book in this series. I have cried, laughed, cursed out loud in anger, and giggled nonstop. Meg is an amazing author, and I would recommend this series to anyone - especially romantasy fans.
From start to finish I was hooked. The character development was fantastic. I think this book cemented my love for Cole and Luna. I just love them so much 💕 their chemistry, humour, bravery = perfection.
Each character has their flaws and issues. Meg doesn't skirt around this fact. No difference is made between human, witch or elf, which from my perspective is one of the main driving forces in this series.

Even the epilogue had me in tears 🥹 hats off to you Meg - im truly sad to say goodbye to this world ❤️

You know that feeling when you finish a series so incredible that you instantly know it’s going to be a lifelong comfort read—the kind you’ll devour again and again? That’s exactly how I feel about
The Cursed Queen series by Meg Humble.

I just turned the final page of book four, and honestly… how am I supposed to recover from this? I’m completely in love with these characters and this world, and I’m not ready to let them go. Meg’s writing is absolutely stunning—her magic system is mesmerizing, the emotional depth is breathtaking, and the friendships and family bonds feel so real and tender. And don’t even get me started on the darker moments… the trauma and heartbreak hit hard in the best, most powerful way.

This series is an easy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me and one I already know I’ll be rereading. If you love immersive fantasy with heart, beauty, and just the right amount of pain, this is one you need on your shelf.

The Promised Queen is the culmination of a story which began with fear, hatred, and a desire to burn it all down to avenge a hurt which defined the life of Blaise’s mother, Agnes, whose powerlessness in her own trauma drives her greed. Throughout the series Meg reminds us of the dangers of allowing grief, hatred and a desire for power to tarnish the good in our world, the purity and the love. She does this through Blaise, a child incubated by grief and honed into a weapon, and her sisters, all of whom have been raised on the poison of their mother. And yet, by the time we find them in The Promised Queen - a damaged but wholly loving family, with a few surprising additions - that trauma is a distant memory, that poison drawn from them by the warmth that they are surrounded with. And so amongst the grand battle, the action and the adventure, what shines in The Promised Queen is the love in unlikely places, between unlikely people, but that is powerful enough to defy the stars and change the world. A perfect conclusion, that had me sobbing with my whole chest on the train to work.

A perfect ending to a truly compelling series. This final instalment was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish, balancing heartbreak and joy in a way that felt completely authentic. The use of multiple points of view once again added depth and richness to the story, allowing each character’s journey to fully unfold.

What stood out most was how seamlessly every storyline — including the side plots — was brought together. Nothing was left unresolved, and every thread found its place, making the conclusion deeply satisfying. It’s rare to find a series that ties everything up so thoughtfully without feeling rushed, but this one delivered.

I laughed, I cried, and I felt completely immersed until the very last page. A beautifully executed ending that does full justice to the journey.

I feel immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to follow this story from the very first book, The False Queen. I knew from the beginning that it was going to be great but I couldn't have possibly imagined the hold that it would have on me.

I found reading this book bittersweet. I so very much wanted to know how the story concluded for the characters I had fallen immensely in love with BUT at the same time, i knew it was coming to an end.

The Promised Queen was an absolutely brilliant ending to the series. Although, my heart is secretly desiring a certain Novella about 2 of the characters... 🤫 I truly cant wait to see what comes next from Meg.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book 💜

The Promised Queen is a powerful and utterly perfect finale about fighting for those you love and making peace with the past, present and future. The stakes are the highest they have ever been, the emotional rollercoaster is hurtling over 100mph, and the spice is most definitely spicing, like damn!

Reaching the end of Blaise's journey is truly bittersweet and looking back, it’s such a breathtaking journey from the Iron Woods' born human to her destined fate in a world full of shifting darkness and light. It's honestly so hard to write about whilst trying not to spoil absolutley anything/everything through excitement but so many (if not all) of these characters have my heart ♡

This book was such a great wrap up to the series. I loved getting to see more of Cole and Luna and the world of the Moonkeepers. The tensions and angst from the previous book was resolved in a way that felt true to the characters with respect and space given to the trauma they’ve endured. I liked that we went back to Reili and the political divisions and instability at play while still moving the main plot forward. So many swoony moments and some serious tear jerkers. It was a rollercoaster at the end, but I loved it. Such a great indie series!

ARC Review - I have never mourned a loss of a series more, instant sadness for finishing my journey in this world.

This book is the final book in the series and I couldn't have picked a better ending, everything is so tied up and perfect and yet I still want more! I miss the characters immediately.

This book gave everything it plays with your emotions, it has incredible and powerful scenes throughout, you find yourself cheering, crying, laughing and gasping.

Incredible, hands down one of my go to recs.

This series has been a five-star experience for me from the very beginning, and this final book absolutely delivered.

I’ve loved following this story from The False Queen through to now, and I genuinely didn’t know how it was all going to come together. There are so many twists, so many moments where everything shifts, and more than a few points where my heart genuinely hurt for these characters.

The character development across the whole series has been brilliant, and this final instalment really leans into that. Everyone has come so far - shaped by everything they’ve been through -and you can feel the weight of those choices in the way things unfold. I still love them all… even the ones I probably shouldn’t 😅

The relationships remain one of my favourite parts. There’s tension, loyalty, heartbreak, and those big emotional moments that feel completely earned because of everything that’s come before. It never feels rushed, it feels like a culmination.

I couldn’t put this down. I was laughing, shouting, and crying my way through it, completely caught up in how it would all end.

And the ending… without giving anything away, it felt right. Not easy, but the right one, and true to the journey these characters have been on from the very start.

Finishing this book has left me with that slightly lost feeling you get when a series you’ve loved comes to an end - what on earth do I do now?

An incredible conclusion to a series I’ll be recommending for a long time
