She’s chasing her dream. He’s guarding his heart. Together, they discover a recipe for love.

On the brink of her dream career as a New York City sous chef, a phone call shatters Paloma Orzo’s world. Her mother’s death sends her back to Boise—and back to Orzo’s Italian Ristorante, the family legacy she never planned to inherit. Grief, guilt, and a pastry chef’s secret follow her she can’t cook the recipes everyone expects her to recreate.

Dante Spanos is exhausted, guarded, and carrying wounds no one sees. Between two struggling businesses, his devotion to his Greek family, and memories of a war he can’t escape, love is the last thing on his mind—until Paloma walks in. Their first meeting crackles with tension, and the attraction only deepens as two broken hearts circle each other.

As secrets surface and dreams collide, Paloma and Dante must decide whether to cling to fear or trust God’s healing grace. Together, they may discover that the most powerful recipes aren’t written down—they’re made with love.

Recipes with Love is a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging Christian romance, filled with lessons in love, loss, healing, forgiveness and new beginnings. There are so many interesting and well developed characters, with their journeys beautifully interwoven and exceptionally well written. You know an author is outstanding when a book thoroughly engages you, and you are able to laugh and cry along with the characters. From the time I started to read Recipes with Love, I had a difficult time putting it down! I love to bake, so found the inclusion of Dante's family Greek restaurant and Paloma's family Old World Italian restaurant utterly charming! As a native Idahoan, the author's inclusion of all things Idaho, this time Boise specific, also hit a high point with me. Erma Ullery is an award winning author, with this being the third outstanding Christian fiction novel she has written. I highly recommend Recipes with Love, as either a book for personal reading or a gift.

I thoroughly enjoyed this conflict-filled romance. Recipes with Love takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. You’ll smile, ache, and rejoice with Paloma and Dante, cheering them on as they break down their self-constructed walls and open their hearts to the love of their life. I highly recommend this page-turning romance that is also rich in the love of family.

Author Erma Ullrey’s rom com, Recipes With Love, toggles between flirtation and suspense. One moment I was smiling at the lead couple’s banter, the next, holding my breath as they stumbled into secrets and doubts. Ullrey’s well woven humor heightens the tension and twists between Dante and Paloma’s romance. What kept me engaged wasn’t just the twists, but how the story uses those twists to reveal genuine vulnerability. Well done.

Like all good recipes, this easy read romance blends faith, the challenges & changes that are part of life, a hodgepodge of characters and romance and whips up a delightful story that is especially endearing if you have an Italian or Greek heritage!
