out of date with nutritional recommendations

Nutritional info is woefully out of date. For example, the book recommends avoiding saturated fat, eating soy and skim milk, cooking in olive oil, and limiting eggs to two per day. Makes me distrust anything else in the book.

It is meandering and unfocused. I ended up scrolling through much of it and never found an actual diet.

The only redeeming quality (assuming it is true) is the easy to understand explanation for why complex carbs and insulin can knock you out of fat burning mode.

The H2O Diet: How to Eat, Exercise, Drink and Dream by Jeannette Murueta Gene Coates
Starts with TOC where chapters are broken up into important sections to make this lifestyle work for you.
Lot of introduction material about what water can really do for your body.
Chapters focus on metabolism and step by step process of digesting your food.
Explains when to drink water and why. Explains when to exercise also to really benefit and burn fat you have stored.
History of water is also discussed and spiritual happiness. Especially like the sections on strength training, exercises to do and how it benefits you getting osteo, bone loss, etc.
Very scientific information but told in a way you can understand it.
Bibliography is also included at the end.
Great resource book to keep handy.

This is a book telling you to drink more water. Lots of water. And watch what you eat. There is a couple of pages on simple exercises you can do at home each day, several times a day. This book could have been reduced to about 3 pages. Not impressed. Am glad it was free on kindle as I certainly wouldn't have paid for it.

A confused book.
The basic message of drinking more water and reducing refined products is well delivered.
Not sure why(!) we get pages and pages of social history on the introduction of caffeine, alcohol, tobacco (and others) into European nations.
If you're reading this book , you already know what's bad for you, you're looking for what's good for you and that's what it should try to stick to.

This book is not just about water or a diet, it covers spiritual matters, vices and author's opinions. It was all over the place and the last chapter almost did me in with it's exercise in creative writing. If it was the first chapter I probably would have given up on the book then and there.

A huge amount of information

A huge amount of information is presented, but I found the basic principles of this diet to be so complicated and convoluted that I'm sure what the dietary recommendations are.

For me it was very informative on what happens to the human body when drinking water at certain times.
