My idiot brother stole two million dollars from the Bratva and disappeared.
Now Dominik Morozov—the Bratva’s cold, lethal underboss—has taken me as collateral. I’m his hostage until my brother returns the money.
Dominik swore he wouldn’t let anyone hurt me, not even his own brother, the Pakhan. I’m stupid for believing him, because every day my brother refuses to show himself, the danger grows.
I should hate Dominik for threatening my only family, taking my freedom, and locking me up in his penthouse guarded by armed men.
But I secretly love the heat in his stare, the possessive way his hand lingers at my throat, and the promise of ruin in his kiss.
As the Pakhan grows impatient, I can feel Dominik being torn between me and his loyalty to his brother. Time is running out—for me and for Archer.
Because I’m no longer just Dominik’s hostage. I’ve become his obsession.
In Dominik’s world, loving someone is dangerous. It’s a weakness that might be a death sentence for us both.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
This suspenseful, first half of the storyline was full of everything we love from this author: betrayals, bloody conflicts, firm loyalties and impossible choices.
The pages turned themselves as I followed Alina and cheered her firey spirit, in the face of a situation she was set up in to fail. As much as Dominik believes he's capable of keeping her safe, Gardiil was always pulling the strings, and we all know, the Pakhan is the boss, and gets what he wants, regardless of the casualties.
While this does end on a cliffhanger, it is absolutely a perfect opportunity to take a breather from the intensity of the storyline, and I appreciate it, because this was a pulse pounding read. Certainly kept me on the edge of my seat!
The second portion of the storyline is lining up to be even more intense, and has eluded to have more steamy scenes to come, more than this one... and I absolutely need to see how Dominik and Alina find their way back to each other, because, to be honest, I'm not sure they can! But being a huge fan of this author, if anyone can make it happen, I know she will!
I can't wait for the next part of the storyline, and recommend this author and any and all of her other addictive series.
Fortunate to have received an ARC (thank you) I happily leave my review.
I need a moment after that ending.. I mean... My goodness.... This one was a very rough ride that became all the more intense emotionally and messier as we went ahead in the book.
But I'm still hung up on that ending and I don't know how to feel right now. On one had I need THE NEXT BOOK RIGHT NOW and on the other hand I'm so angry and freaked out over everything that happened.
This is a Dark Mafia Romance and it's a slow burn vibe because from the moment Dominik lays his eyes on Alina, there's just something that makes him protective of her.
After being taken captive and realizing she had been betrayed by her own brother for her to come on the bratva's radar, Alina has one goal to save her brother somehow because no matter what, he's helped raise her when their mother didn't and didn't let her go to foster care.
Alina is such a strong woman and yes, she might have been a bit much on occasions, not backing down in front of dangerous men, she's a woman who doesn't break down easily and makes the best of the situation.
Dominik, that man puzzled me in the beginning. Garviil, his brother and the Pakhan wants the stolen shipment and the money that was stolen from them. The Pakhan is the most dangerous man and always gets what he wants.
So, when Garviil demands Alina be given to him, Dominik doesn't back down and every time he stepped in and protected her, I was so intrigued.
Dominik does everything he can to save Alina and so begins a Dark and dangerous wild goose chase of finding the people who stole from the bratva, collecting Intel, among many more things that gives us really many scenes that are full of Mafia action.
Graviil, is the villain but one that does with a smirk on his face while he delivers threats and ultimatums. The way he's obsessed with Alina would have been something but he just wants her so that he can one up his brother and I just detest that man so much right now.
I really wanted to scream with that ending... Because... What the What FFF happened... 😡🤬😠... March can't come fast enough but I'm equally freaked out... what will happen next.
𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: ☑️ Dark Mafia ☑️ She's in captivity ☑️ Obsessed with her ☑️ He's the Pakhan's second in command & brother ☑️ Slow burn ☑️ Full on action filled.
This is a mafia romance. Alina is Archer’s sister. He’s made bad choices, aligned with the wrong people and stolen and betrayed the Bratva to get what he wants. In the end she is kidnapped off the street as a way of making him talk. Dominick is the kidnapper, but he’s gentle with her. He gives her choices and respect, but the Pakhan is always watching and isn’t happy with what he sees. In the end her brother is found, what he stole is partly recovered and someone has to pay the debt. This book is a cliffhanger that I read too quickly and enjoyed a lot. I can’t wait for the conclusion of Alina and Dominick’s love story.
Lane Hart has once again written a spectacular story! This was so much more than a mafia novel!!! From the very beginning, I liked Alina! She was likable, relatable, and had me rooting for her survival. She didn’t deserve what was happening to her, but she wasn’t giving up either. Dominik…was everything I could have asked for of a morally gray MMC! He was calm even when he was ruthless, but he had lines he wasn’t willing to cross. And how he protected Alina…SWOON!!! His single and two word responses such as “Until now,” “Watch me,” and “Mine” had my heart stuttering and my mouth salivating! One of the things that shocked me most, is that this was a relatively clean read! If you’re a Lane Hart like I am, you know that she brings the STEAM!!! Her books have been known to have me fanning myself after some chapters. Yet this book didn’t have or, frankly, need the explicit scenes to depict the growing connection between Alina and Dominik. The was a slow burn that was sultry and was building to something before things took a turn. I’ve read many mafia/Bratva books (too many to count) and several where the Enforcer falls for someone he shouldn’t. But this book, with two sets of siblings is pretty original. And the growing rift between Dominik and his older brother Graviil, the Pakhan, truly had me on edge. It does end in a cliffhanger of sorts, and it definitely ended with my heart in my throat. I absolutely can not wait for the next book! How will Dominik and Alina get out of their current situations? I need to find out ASAP!!!.

Oh my Gosh I can't believe the cliffhanger this book ends on. I wish there was more than five stars this book has become definitely my favourite. Alina works long hours, lives in a small apartment and bearly makes ends meet. But she does it with her head held high, even when her older brother ends up making yet another stupid mistake, and she ends up bailing him out if she can. Except now shes in the boot of an SUV and deep down she knows it has to be something to do with her brother. Dominik has one main rule and that is you don't hurt innocent people. Yet here he is with the girl who fought harder than most. She got the best of two of his best men, plus bust his own nose and his hands bear the scratches. He needs her to understand he has to get her brother to hand back what was stolen. If not the Pakhan will take her, and she won't survive what he has in store. This is a story that just keeps giving. Just how much can you accept from family before its too much. What's the line that you just can't cross. Is everything black and white. Just how far will someone go to protect those they love. Can they live with the consequences. This story not only grips but you find yourself hoping that something good will come from so much hurt. Can anybody walk away. Or will it end with the ultimate betrayal. I can't wait for the next book in the series
I have been a fan of Ms. Hart for a long time and I have enjoyed all of her books and this book is no different. I will start this review by saying that if you are not a fan of cliffhangers, then you need to wait for the next book to be released since this book does end on a cliffhanger. With that disclosed on to the review.
Alina's brother takes money that belongs to the Bratva. As a result of his theft, Dominik - leader of the Bratva takes Alina until her brother repays the money that he took. Unfortunately while waiting, Dominik becomes obsessed with Alina and his brother Gavrill - the Pakhan of the Bratva is getting tired of waiting thus causing both brothers to be pitted against each other since Dominik is drawn to Alina and will do anything to protect her.
This is a book that had me hooked from the start. The characters are well written and they have chemistry that is off the charts. The plot of this book moved along well, keeping me interested in seeing what is to happen next. The only issue is the cliffhanger but once the next book comes out that problem will be solved! Overall, this is a great read that I would recommend to others.
This is the first book of two & it’s a doozy! Alina is captured & is held hostage as her brother stole money & guns from the mafia. Dominik has kept her instead of sending her directly to the Pakhan (Dom’s brother). Gavriil is as evil as ever & wants her. Surprisingly, Alina has a spine & rather than being docile & quiet, she stands up to both brothers, asking questions & demanding answers. Alina’s brother, Archer, is a pain in the neck & in real deep trouble with the Morozov Bratva. This book builds up to a really good cliff-hanger story-line leaving you hanging with the “I can’t believe this happened” & leaving you wondering who will live & who will die. It’s intense with mysterious secrets surrounding Archer, men who are attracted to Alina by her beauty, her bravery by standing up to them & defending herself, demanding respect & freedom. Lane Hart has chosen a different path in the mafia-theme stories, uniquely hers & I love the new direction & uniqueness this one is heading into book 2.

Another compelling read from Lane Hart. Compared to her Sin City Mafia series, the spice in this book is on the milder side, but the story more than makes up for it—can't wait to read the next book, His Savage Claim, hoping he'll get to reclaim his girl. Dominik Morozov, second-in-command of the Russian mafia in New York, is the younger brother of the Pakhan (mob boss) and every bit as dangerous as his position demands. Cold, lethal yet deeply honourable and respecful, Dominik is an enforcer who operates by his own strict code and is not afraid to stand up to his brother where Alina is concerned. When she is kidnapped and held as collateral while they hunt down her brother—who’s made the fatal mistake of stealing two million dollars’ worth of their merchandise—Dominik never expects to fall for her. One line in particular perfectly captures the darkness of this world: “God,” he whispers. “God, please don’t—” “God doesn’t come down here.” A haunting moment in a story that balances brutality, restraint, and slow-burning tension and romance.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
His Savage Obsession was a gripping and intense start to the Savage Bratva Brothers series. From the very first pages, the story pulled me in with its dark tone, high tension, and undeniable chemistry between the main characters. This is the kind of book that’s hard to put down once you start reading.
The hero was dangerously compelling—ruthless, obsessive, and very much in control—yet layered with moments that revealed depth beneath the brutality. The heroine was strong and resilient, holding her own in a world filled with danger and power plays. Their dynamic was charged, emotional, and intense, making the romance feel raw and all-consuming.
I would highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy dark mafia romance, morally gray heroes, and high-stakes, obsessive love stories. If you like your romances intense, suspenseful, and unapologetically dark with plenty of heat, this one is a must-read.

Why oh why don't I check book endings before I review. Because they hide it for some reason. Stop forcing books to be duets. This is Dominick & Alina's story.
To start off, this one started fast and strong. Alina is a spitfire. The dynamic between Dominick and his brother, Gavriil, was good. Gavriil is the pakhan and has no redeeming qualities nor love for his brother. The interplay between the three was flowing nicely. Then we went into drag mode - a move that "let's make this a duet" authors love to use. Then it got to the end and that wrapped up quickly. If anything, that should have been drawn out a bit while the other should have been shortened. By that time, I'd lost interest due to the slowdown of the flow. Not really sure if the interest will be there for the second part. The ending and the blurb was a bit too farfetched and ick at the same time. The simple fact is editing the story appropriately to make it one book, and it will flow so much better. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
ARC Review Star Rating: 5⭐️ Source: BookSirens Pub Date: Jan 28, 2026 Genre: Dark Romance/Romantic Suspense Book one of Savage Bravta Brothers Duet Format: Digital Spice: 🌶️🌶️
This was great! From beginning to end it was so great! Kept my attention and there’s a lot that happened. It’s a captor/morally grey suspenseful mafia romance. Due to Alina’s brother, she gets kidnapped by men randomly coming from work and she puts up a fight but the head of the Bravta wasn’t as savage as I though he was gonna be towards her. I really hated brothers from each side and just made me go ugh! But I loved that the ending is a cliffhanger. I really felt the love between Dominik and Alina as the story progressed and also the frustration with both Gaveriil and Alina’s brother who started it all, Archer. So many things that happened throughout though I was very invested and now I’m sad cause I have to wait for the second book. I can’t wait to see more of what happens! This was a good mafia read!
This book didn’t just hook me; it took me hostage and refused to let go.
Dominik Morozov is cold, lethal, and terrifyingly controlled… until Alina becomes his weakness. The forced proximity, slow-burn obsession, and constant danger kept the tension razor-sharp the entire time.
Every chapter tightens the noose, and the ending? Absolutely cruel in the best way.
Dark mafia romance done RIGHT and I need book two immediately.
His Savage Obsession is the first story in the Savage Bratva Brothers. It is a duet so it ends on a cliffhanger.
Alina works hard to pay for her apartment and is barely making it. She looks out for her brother as much as possible. She is taken by the mafia and learns that her brother has stolen money that belonged to them. He has also disappeared. Alina is taken to Dominik's house as payment for her brother. Dominik soon realizes that she doesn't know anything and she is innocent. He becomes obsessed with Alina. His brother, Graviil, is the leader and wants to take Alina to his home but Dominik refuses to let that happen. He protects her and will do what he has to do to keep her safe with him.
I loved how Alina was so strong and loved her brother. I loved the chemistry between her and Dominik and how he was obsessed with her. I look forward to the next story.

What in the ever loving F did i read. .my mind is blown. Dominik and Alina where just smoking from the get go. He was so protective of her and she was greatful that he could have treated her alot worse for her brothers sins but didn't and when he bleeds for her that shows her the ultimate sacrifice that she can not have go unnoticed and will stop at nothing to make sure that he along with her brother are kept safe even if it comes to her peril. Gavriil I felt that he is torn between being a brother, caring for his brother and being a Pakhan. And I really want to like him as just misunderstood and please for the love of God not let him do anything that is going to break his brothers heart. This book was intense and sweet but that ending was just mouth opening and I really want to scream. Absolutely love everything i read from Lane Hart and this book is no different, bring on part 2.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. This is the first book in the Savage Bratva Brothers Duet. This is the first book in the duet and must be read in order. Alina's brother stole from the wrong people. The Bratva want there stolen goods and their money. So they kidnapped her and are keeping her in hopes of getting him to come out of hiding. Only he screws up even more when he goes against his word a second time. Alina thought she meant everything to her brother but now she's not so sure. Dominik's brother, Gavriil is the Pakhan of the Russian mafia. Dominik has always follows orders he's been given until her. There is just something about her that is calling to him. He will do everything to protect her. Even go up against his brother. This book does end on a major cliffhanger leaving you patiently waiting for the next book.
I'm such a big fan of this author, so I was very excited to read this. Let me tell you, it was as epic as I anticipated it would be and exactly what I've come to expect from a Lane Hart novel.
This novel centers around Alina and Dominik. Alina's brother has found himself in some trouble, taking money from the Bratva. Because of that infraction, the Bratva leader, Dominik, takes Alina as payment until her brother repays the money he took. However, in the time that Alina is captive, Dominik becomes completely obsessed with her. What ensues is utter perfection.
I loved everything about this book, down to the characters, who had amazing chemistry, the plot, how well-written and fleshed out it was, all the ins-and-outs that make this book the word mastery it is. There is a cliffhanger, but it only has me craving the next book that much more. This is, by far, well worth five stars.
I've been waiting sooooooo long for another new series from Lane Hart and the Savage Bratva Brothers Duet Book 1 was well worth the wait! What happens when your brother steals from the Bratva, well for Alina she becomes collateral damage until she becomes something else to Dominik who was supposed to "just grab the girl" until her brother coughs up the cash. Dominik finds the feisty Alina very intriguing and begins to have feelings for her. His brother Gaveriil sees her as another challenge to break, but it turns into a standoff between Dominik who sees her as "his" and his brother who wants to break him by stealing something he wants. There is a doozy of a cliffhanger that has me waiting not so patiently for the next book to release.

His Savage Obsession is the first book in the Savage Bratva Brothers Duet by Lane Hart. Lane Hart has once again delivered a mafia read that has it all. I’m obsessed with this book as much as Dominik is obsessed with Alina. I will be counting down the days until the second book comes out. Lane Hart did an amazing job of building tension between Alina and Dominik. Their chemistry was sizzling. And add in Gavrill, I was hooked. This book caught my attention from the first page and kept it until the cliffhanger that left me at the edge of my seat. And after writing this review, I will be pre-ordering the second book. His Savage Obsession is the first book in the Savage Bratva Brothers Duet which focuses on the dark romance between Dominik/Dom, the underboss for his Bratva and brother to the Pakhan, Gavrill, and Alina, who is kidnapped off the streets and held captive due to her brother stealing millions of dollars from the Bratva. While Dom becomes closer to Alina and is willing for more time Gavrill is determined to resolve the situation differently. This thrilling dark Bratva romance has well defined characters, complex relationships, suspense, captivity, and a slow burn romance. The book ends in a cliffhanger leading to the second book in the duet.

Alina is caught up in trouble caused by her brother. Now she has to navigate her survival when the bratva is involved. To top that off she is dealing with the head of the Bratva and his right hand which is also his brother. There is a lot of tension caused by Alina’s involvement.
This is the first book in a duet and I am very interested in seeing how things work out with the cliffhanger. There is a lot of build up about the brothers relationship and I’m curious to see how Alina’s character moves forward. I think this is a solid read.

Alina Kent has been kidnapped by Dominik Morozov the underboss of the Russian Bratva. Alina's only relative her brother, Archer, has stolen guns and money from the Russians. Dominik's brother, Gavriil the Pakhan of the Russians wants Alina, but Dom has declared her his. I could not put this book down, it was very intense and it drew me in. I knew it ended in a cliff hanger but I was very upset when I got there. Book two in the set promises to be excellent and promises us a HEA, but with who. Will Alina and Dom be able to forgive and find their way back to each other?
I received an advance review of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh my, absolutely excellent. I loved the action and drama in this book and that cliff hanger ending, just wow!
Alina's brother steals a great deal from the Bratva and gets takes as leverage by Dominik the second to the Ruthless pakhan.
Dominik was the second to the Gavriil who wanted Alina to break. But Dom wasn't having that. She wanted to save her idiot brother Archer who ripped off the Bratva but her feelings for Dom took over.
Such a brilliant book. I honestly can't wait for the conclusion to the duet. This was well written with characters that totally captivated me, and a plot that well, was the best. So good!!!
What an intense, gripping, and consuming story this is. Alina is thrust into the middle of Dominik Morozov and Gavriil, his brother, due to her brother’s misguided attempt to be something that he is not! This book will suck you in from the beginning. It is unlike anything else that Lane Hart has written, and I think that it is one of her best works to date. This book is not for the faint of heart – it is full of drama and deceit and Alina is right in the center. The story is a two part series and ends on a cliffhanger. I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book to see how this all plays out.
His Savage Obsession is book 1 in the Savage Brothers Bratva duet. This is Dominik Morozov and Alina Kent's story and it's an intense, intriguing, dramatic journey that keeps you glued to the pages from beginning to end. Alina's brother has put her in a dangerous situation. There's lots of action, chaos and betrayals and then there's Gavriil... He's a major *&^#"$"! His Savage Obsession is fantastic! It ends on a dreaded cliffhanger and I can't wait to see what comes next for these characters.
Alina is paying for Archers greed. His theft of 2mil from Doms family left her being held captive until he made it right. But Dom feels something for Alina. He has no intentions of handing her over to his family. These two are fire. The betrayal and chaos in this. The way they connect was awesome. I loved the intensity in this book. I turned the pages wanting to know what was going to come next. This book has amazing depth and awesome characters. I loved the twists and turns in this. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
Dominik Morozov is the brother and right hand of Gavriil the head of the Bratva. Alina's brother steals from the Bratva and Dominik collect Alina in an effort to coerce her brother to return the stolen money. During her captivity Dominik becomes obsessed with her and wants to leave the Bratva and live happiy ever after with Alina. Lane Hart does not know who to write a bad book. I am anxious and can't wait for the second book in March. This book is a must read knowing that it continues to a second book.
I’m not usually one for reading any books with cliffhangers. However, the blurb for this book intrigued me and as Lane Hart is a talented author, I decided to give it a go. I am so thankful I did. The cliffhanger has me on the edge of my seat looking forward to the ending. Dominik is the muscle and second to his brother, the Pakhan. He still has a conscious, whereas his brother does not. When Archer owes money and guns to the Bratva, Alina offers herself up as collateral on behalf of her brother. Betrayal, family dynamics, mind games and so much more is packed into this gripping read.
What made it worse was the small amount of hope I let bloom before it was savagely ripped away.
This book sucked me in hard, and I was loving the dynamic that Dom and Alina had found. The subtle changes in their relationship got me so invested. Dom's protective nature, Alina's resilience...it was fascinating.
I knew there would be twists and turns, but I never expected it to end the way it did.
I'll be waiting (not so patiently) for the next instalment.
His Savage Obsession is book one kf a brand new duet by Lane Hart. Its got thrill, tension, spice, and so much obsession of the female character that this book captivates you from the start.
When Alina is caught in the middle of two mafia brothers, by something her brother did, its all she can do is survive. She is firece, strong and fully capable of going head to head with the Don of Mafia. These two are amazing together.
This book ends on a cliffhanger. Dont throw your kindles or books just yet, book 2 is out in March.
This suspenseful, first half of the storyline was full of everything we love from this author: betrayals, bloody conflicts, firm loyalties and impossible choices.
