I’m getting married. Again. But this time it’s to the men I Captain James Hook and the Crocodile, the Devourer of Men.
As a Darling, I never thought I’d get the fairytale life. Not with Peter Pan haunting my family line. Not with the monsters and witches and myths of the Seven Isles plotting for revenge.
On the morning of my wedding, all seems well…until someone kidnaps James.
Surely it must be a mistake. Because no one on Darkland would be stupid enough to kidnap the Crocodile’s boyfriend, right?
But if we’re to find our happily ever after, we’re going to have to overcome more than a vengeful street gang.
And we deserve it, don’t we? James, Roc, and me. We deserve a happy ending after everything we’ve endured. And we’re determined to get it.

Nikki St. Crowe is a USA Today and No. 1 Amazon Bestselling Author specializing in dark, spicy romantasy where the villain gets the girl and the girl gets the power.
Nikki considers the start of her professional career to be in the 4th grade when she placed 2nd in a Young Author’s Competition. Back then she crafted stories about magical mansions and lost treasure. She’s since ditched the treasure hunts, but she'll never give up on the magical mansions (or the morally grey men who inhabit them).
These days, when Nikki isn’t writing or daydreaming about villains, she can either be found in the woods or at home with her husband and daughter.
“Do you want me to beg, Captain? Do you want me to get down on one knee and declare my love for you? Because I will. If that’s what you want.” - Roc
Ah to be reunited with Roc James and Wendy again is exactly what I needed. I can’t get enough of these two men. When James says “Bloody Hell” it gives dopamine hits. I never want this series to end we wasn’t even expecting this lil treat so to have it I’m so happy. Of course I binge read it in one sitting - smiling and giggling the whole time.
Those that get it .. get it .. those that don’t are missing out! 5 stars for all vibes and chasing my depression away. Thank you Scarlett St. Crowe
This was a very satisfying conclusion to the Devourer trilogy about Roc (The crocodile), James (Hook), and Wendy (Darling). They are settling into their roles and their throuple relationship. There are still a few people they need to squash and a royal wedding to prepare for.
It's gonna be gritty, it's gonna be sexy, and it's gonna be over far too quickly. My only complaint is that I wanted more of them.
I loved seeing how their dynamics have shifted and how the three of them support one another and rule their kingdom. They each fit into a unique role but they all depend and lean on one another to make it seamless.
As always, this was delightfully narrated in a Duet style by Shane East, Robert Hatchet, and Stella Hunter. They are absolute stars in this series.
4 Stars 3 on the spice scale
CW: Kidnapping, BDSM, drugging, violence
*Thank you to Must Love Audio and the author for an ALC of this title.*
"If the ocean tried to steal him from me, I would declare war on it. When the sun pools at his feet, I am loathe to steal its place."
This first half of this book is delightfully sweet. Roc, Hook, and Wendy are getting married! They go about their lives, settling into their new roles and surroundings. Loving each other and building one another up. Adorable and delightful. Blissful in their devotion.
Then, the plot thickens. Hook is snatched of the streets on his way to his own wedding. Roc and Wendy must band up with Peter Pan and his Lost Boys to save their swashbuckling lover.
It's bloody gruesome madness and yet delicate and beautiful. Have I mentioned that I adore this series?
"As much as Captain James Hook likes to believe he is a cutthroat pirate, at the heart of it, he is just a big gooey cinnamon cake who wants to be loved and accepted for who he is. But more than that, he wants to feel worthy."
3.5 stars for me. I definitely think this book could’ve been longer and had more details. it was in the one before this the ending made me think we’d go into it with this book and it really didn’t which was disappointing and the ending of this one didn’t go into the cliffhanger of the last :/ and the author said this will probs be the last book so now i’m like when will i ever find out what happens.
Ok, l'ho divorato.
Roc, James, and Wendy are getting married. James has major imposter syndrome, and thinks he isn't cut out for being a ruler of Darkland, and Wendy and Roc will see him as a failure and leave him. Of course that doesn't happen, but on his wedding day he gets kidnapped, and Roc gets to have some fun after.
This was a fun and short book, all though NOTHING really happened. For the first 60% of the book it was just wedding prep, and James being having his head stuck in his ass. Regardless, this was a fun, short and easy read!
A novella about Roc, Hook and Wendy getting married and a kidnapping the day before the wedding!!! Of course I ate this right up. The books in this world are just fun filthy absolute nonsense and I love em. Fantastic audio again from Shane East, Robert Hatchet and Stella Hunter. 🐊🪝👸🏻
Ugh Nikki does it again. What an incredible ending to such a great series! I loved being back with Roc, Hook & Wendy. I feel like everything tied together perfectly but had the normal spice and drama that you come to expect from this crew!
I have loved being in this world so much. This inspired me to start my yearly Never King re-listen early this year! I am not a fantasy girl at all but something about this world that Nikki has created with these characters and their dynamics... I eat it right up! The audio was incredible, I listened in one setting of course and the full cast was perfection! Thank you so much to Nikki and MLA for the ALC! This series is fast paced, but incredibly delicious and it should be at the top of your TBR!
”Do you want me to beg, Captain? Do you want me to get down on one knee and declare my love for you? Because I will. If that's what you want.” 🪝
Did i enjoy this? sure. Was it necessary? not really.
I like the idea of the story, but i was expecting more when i read the blurb about kidnapping. I feel like that part of the story was less than 5% of the book.
It was still entertaining seeing Hook, Roc and Wendy again (and the little cameo from Winnie, Peter, Vane, Kash & Bash).
A surprise PPP that I had no idea she was writing, nor did anyone until she announced that she did and it was available!! It was a fun continuation to the story that I never thought I’d get!
This was a fun little continuation of their story 🫶🏼 as a Roc girly, I love to see my man happy & feral for his Captain and Darling. I could listen to this trio in my ears all day if I’m honest heheh
Another 5 stars for my beloved crocodile 🐊🤍 are we surprised? I guess not.
I absolutely loved Devour the Snake. I’m a huge fan of everything this author has written in the Peter Pan universe, and this book just reinforced why. I love this world, the darkness, the twisted fairytale vibes and it all works so well.
Roc is ABSOLUTELY my favorite character. No contest. I love anything where he’s involved, and every scene with him instantly became a highlight for me. He’s intense, protective, and oddly tender, and I could honestly read an entire book that’s just Roc doing… anything 🙈
The relationship between Roc, James and Wendy is what makes this story shine. It feels chaotic, emotional, and deeply loyal in a way that fits the world perfectly. I also loved how much of a cutie pie Hook is with his insecurities 🥹
This book is dark, fun, and full of heart. It feels like a love letter to this universe and its characters, and as someone who already adores the Peter Pan retellings, it was incredibly rewarding. If Roc is in it, I’m in and Devour the Snake delivered exactly what I wanted.
If anyone is ever unsure if Nikki loves her fans or not... Let this sweet treat clear it up for you.
It's a royal wedding and we get a front row seat to Roc, Hook and Wendy's happily ever after. The shock that left my body when I found out that this was coming! I love this world so incredibly much. And anytime I can see Hook getting all soft for Wendy and Roc, you better believe I am going to ... devour it. 🙂↔️👀
"As much as Captain James Hook likes to believe he is a cutthroat pirate, at the heart of it, he is just a big gooey cinnamon cake who wants to be loved and accepted for who he is. But more than that, he wants to feel worthy."
Book 3 in the dark MMF dark fairytale retelling featuring Captain Hook, Roc (Crocodile), and Wendy Darling. Think butt plugs, kidnapping, a wedding, and a hard-earned HEA after a few twists.
For a book that’s just 130 pages, this packed in a great balance of plot and spice—fast, fun, and satisfying. I also loved the brief cameo from characters in the Vicious Lost Boys series, and it wrapped up the Devourer series really nicely. Short, spicy, and didn’t overstay its welcome.
I look forward to reading more of this author in the future 🩷
The writing itself was fine, but nothing was added to the overarching story. The tone was wayyyyy off - weirdly sappy for a very* dark romance series. I was also expecting some kind of continuation of the information revealed in Devour the Dark but no 😒
Very* being relative but this series and the Vicious Lost Boys series are full of dark themes, morally questionable characters, and general murder…this book had a wedding and ugh… “that” trope at the end.
I thought I was happy with where the Devourer duology ended. But apparently I needed exactly what Nikki St. Crowe had to offer as an addition to the story. Because this was absolutely perfect. There was contentment and humor, mixed with a little bit of imposter syndrome and doubt. Roc, Hook, and Wendy are the perfect trio full of unconditional support and love. I couldn’t have asked for a better novella to add to their stories. Plus we got to see all of our favorite characters from VLB? Absolutely loved every page of this book!
Thank you Nikki St. Crowe for gifting me with an eARC, all thoughts expressed are my own.
3.5 Reading this the day it came out with high hopes, only to be left slightly defeated. For this to "be the last installment" according to Nikki, it definitely didnt leave me satiated. It was very boring in certain parts of the book and vastly lacked that nail biting experience of the Origin story. I was ecstatic to have the 4 boys and Winnie briefly in this book however. I really really hope there's more books in the future as I never want this world to end. Give me more Nikki

OMFG! Another dark romantasy smash from Nikki St Crowe. I freaking love the Devourer and Vicious Lost Boys series and would read them over and over again and scream about them to anyone who will listen to me.
The characters are so intriguing and exciting to read about. I have always been a big fan of Neverland and Wonderland and the dark twist and merging of the two that Nikki has created is just so fabulously unhinged and hot AF!
This was a great read, it wraps things up nicely but I definitely think Nikki has left this open to come back to in bonus chapters or maybe another sneaky book. There are a few questions left unanswered and I will always want more from these characters and world.
Spicy MMF Darkness with Magic, Love and deep emotional connections. Oh and a sexy Pirate, smouldering Jabbawocky and their Wendy Darling.
Well this was the surprise release I needed. Roc and Hook are my favourite characters of Nikki’s and I guess Wendy is okay too 🤣 but I’m definitely here for the trio. Fast paced and again full of little Easter eggs (Still hearing about Alice and Wonderland- which I absolutely need to read about), not to mention lost land, queen of hearts, ancient order of shadows, and whoever the f*** Tyrin is linked too. Roc’s non chalant bad boy banter returns along with a softer tender side we weren’t overly exposed to last time and it’s just 🤌 There’s drama, violence, tension, reunions and of course the best spice. I don’t know how EVERYTIME Nikki is able to create these novellas but manages to make me feel like I’ve read the most detailed 400page read (in a good way- she’s like superhuman in her ability to do this without any content feeling rushed, missed, or unnecessary).
Did you ever watch Peter Pan and think, “Hear me out… the crocodile might be hot if he were human”? If yes- congratulations, Devour the Snake is your reward.
This one is book 3 of a the Devourer series and it fully commits to the unhinged fantasy: Hook, the Croc and Wendy Darling, a why-choose relationship that is dark, dangerous, and way hotter than it has any right to be. It’s feral, twisted, and absolutely aware of how wild the premise is and leans in hard.
If morally questionable men, fairy-tale chaos energy are your thing… welcome to Neverland.
