About the author

Ivy Layne

Ivy Layne has had her nose stuck in a book since she first learned to decipher the English language. Sometime in her early teens, she stumbled across her first Romance, and the die was cast. Though she pretended to pay attention to her creative writing professors, she dreamed of writing steamy romance instead of literary fiction. These days, she’s neck deep in alpha heroes and the smart, sexy women who love them.

Married to her very own alpha hero (who rubs her back after a long day of typing, but also leaves his socks on the floor). Ivy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she and her other half are having a blast raising two energetic little boys. Aside from her family, Ivy’s greatest loves are coffee and chocolate, preferably together.

I’m not sure where to begin, but first let me say that that I love that authors collaboration with one another bring something together that makes a whole story to come to life, because it involves and includes the other significant relationships referred to in the story. Ivy Layne and Leslie Steele have captured an audience with me with their books that provide ancillary books to the stories introduced in the current story.

Each character was unique, but yet similar. You have family cohesion and friend fidelity. The strengths and weaknesses are there, but each character fight what they feel because they don’t trust themselves, but willing listen to those who they trust.

The men are good looking, arrogant, and great lovers. The women are curvy. Some with self esteem issues, but all have a stubborn streak that their mouth and actions can put them in situations that are not what they intended.

I like that women are curvy and not stick models in the books I read. I do wish I had a better understanding of what the author means though by that. I have friends that have a fantastic figure that are curvy and wear a size US size 16 or 18 and they look fabulous.

I love this series so much. I read it on KU when the books first came out and now purchased it as a box set. These stories combine mystery with romance, weaving tragedy with triumph. Highly recommended.

Spicier than expected

It was good, but much spicier than I expected, which made for an awkward moment listening to the audio book when the kids came home unexpectedly from their sleepover.

inspiring!

This has been an inspiring series! Filled with suspense, drama, trauma, but also a deep sense of loyalty, commitment, compassion and laughter! And romance, second chances, letting go.
