Grief and heartbreak can cause anyone to go into depression. Kenzlee Wilson saw that happening to her. On top of trying to pick up the pieces of her life, she gets acquainted with her gym’s owner, Nashton Sims. Nash comes into Kenzlee’s life and moves things around like a real man should. Soon, Kenzlee feels free and knows that her life has changed for the better. How will Kenzlee handle the new changes that occur? Will she meet it head on, or will problems around her cause her to fumble?
This instalment in this series of unrelated standalones features Kenzlee and Nash. The premise is that Kenzlee is grieving the tragic loss of her parents while also dealing with a painful breakup and betrayal, and she’s clearly in a difficult place, emotionally. Nash, the owner of her gym, steps into her life as a steady, nurturing presence, who’s pretty much a lover boy and who just wants to love her.
I thought it was interesting how undramatic their connection was- they like the same things, have similar hobbies, read the same books, eat the same food. Nash does the vast majority of the heavy lifting and it’s intentional, supportive, and focused on her healing. He really shows up for her in a way that feels almost idealised, like a very “dream” version of a partner. We don’t really get to see Kenzlee show up for him really in any way outside of intimacy.
The story itself is quite gentle and pastoral. There is some tension, mostly around Kenzlee’s trust and emotional recovery and that playing a part in her new relationship, but overall it’s low-drama and not especially plot-heavy or super heavy on character development. Nothing major really happens in terms of big twists or action and beyond setting up Kenzlee’s emotional turmoil, there isn’t significant character development.
This novella is more about watching two people build something soft and supportive together. It’s light, easy to read, and genuinely sweet. If you’re in the mood for something calm, comforting, and focused on healing and a happy couple being a happy couple, this works well.
I enjoyed Nashton and Kenzlee's story. She was a bit immature and lacked in the communication department but Nashton was patient and it was worth it in the end.
Ha, Kenzlee was not my favorite. Nash was a patient and loving man. He checked her professionally after the stunt she pull. Farrah get the gold star for being a great bestie and keeping it 100% with Kenzlee. You need friends who will call you on your BS.
With that being said, grief and betrayal is a dangerous combination and can cause a deeper depression. Kenzlee was experiencing both and it seems like other things were trickling in. She had a great man though. He had her back and was willing to do anything to make her happy and remove the sadness from her eyes.
I'm certain some men are losing their minds because WHAT did I just read? Jonathan didn’t just cheat he delivered a full villain monologue like we were supposed to nod along. Blaming Kenzlee for grieving her parents. Saying she should be over it 🤬 Oh no. Straight to jail. No questions, no appeal, just vibes and a cell. Don't worry about me!!! I wanted to jump into the book. The level of audacity was actually impressive in the worst way. How do you break someone and then try to convince them it’s their fault you broke them?
Let’s shift to what really mattered, Kenzlee’s healing. You could feel her trying to find her way back to herself, and that kind of grief It doesn’t have a timeline, no matter what clown logic Jonathan was on. Watching her slowly come up for air, piece by piece, felt real. Then Nash stepped in like a breath she didn’t know she needed.
No pressure, no rushing her process, no making her feel like she had to perform or get over it. He just showed up. Consistent, patient, protective in a way that felt safe instead of suffocating. He didn’t try to replace what she lost, he just made space for her to heal while reminding her she was still worthy of love.
Of course here comes Jonathan crawling back. Typical fck boi patterns. Now the baby not yours, now you miss her, now you see her value. Sir, please clock out permanently. That door didn’t just close, it locked and deadbolted. This story really said: sometimes heartbreak frees you. Losing the wrong person will make room for the one who knows how to love you properly.

Nashton and Kenzlee, Love Can Bring You Out the Dark
This book touched my WHOLE HEART!!!…I love all the emotions you could feel through this book while Miss Kenzlee mourned the loss of both of her parents!!!… That’s an ache no one will ever feel understand until you have lost 1 or both of your parents!!!…Jonathan’s whole attitude twds Kenzlee trying to navigate on her own made me wanna reach through the book and shake him!!!… While going through the loss of the relationship with Jonathan, Kenzlee is fully introduced to Nashton who has embraced her and showed her how a woman should be treated and allowed her to go through what she will, while still mourning!!!… Then his family embraced her, celebrated with her and made sure she felt the love of a family!!!… Now they are on a journey of building their own family!!!…
What can I say about book 6 of the BLP Breeds Series?!?! Your Love Free Me was everything I thought it would be and so much more. If you love a book about a man loving and protecting his woman and so much more you are going to love this book.
Kenzlee and Nashton’s love story was so well written, Nash shot his shot at the right time and healed Kenz’s heart from grief from her parents death and depression from a break up. Of course there was drama but he loved and protected her through all of the drama.
You will absolutely love this book and should add it and the rest of the series to your TBR!!
Kenzlee had been through a lot in her life. She was suffering from depression, grief and heartbreak when Nash made his move on her. With his love, care and concern, Kenzlee was able to overcome all the hurt and pain that she had been enduring. Nash was just the man for her because he treated her like a real man is supposed to. I couldn't stand Kenzlee's ex, Jonathan. He was trifling and delusional, and I was happy when Nash laid hands since he wasn't playing when it came to Kenzlee. I enjoyed the way that they got together and how they achieved their happily ever after.
This was my first read by this author and I liked this book well enough. I thought the couple was cute together. The characteristics the author listed for a Labrador Retriever fit Nash perfectly. He was definitely friendly, affectionate, loyal and devoted to Kenzlee. This story had very minimal drama and I appreciated that. The story was written from a single POV through Kenzlee’s eyes, which was different for me since the dog breed described the MMC only in my opinion, but the story overall was pretty good especially with how Nash loved on Kenzlee.
So this is definitely a feel good healing story. Kenzlee had a rough couple of years and that boyfriend of hers did not make it better. To tell someone ti get over their parents sudden death is crazy. Honestly you never get over that.. just find a way to move past. The way Nash came in and made things easy just had me tingling. He did not play about her and he let anyone know. I just knew he was gonna knock Patrick out lol like he did Johnathan. I am glad she found her happiness because grief and heartbreak is hard!!
Nash came in and turned Kenzlee's world around! He made everything so much better for her! Kenzlee was allowing grief and depression to out weigh everything in her life, and it was obvious. Her ex took complete advantage of that. Nashton came into her world with the intention to love her down, and he did just that. He had his work cut out for him, but he was up for the challenge. Nash was willing to harm anyone that spoke to Kenzlee wrong. Their love grew fast and beautiful. Awesome read!
A great story of love, happiness, trust and loss and heartbreak! Kenzlee and Nashton were great together, I really enjoyed how Nashton was protective Kenzlee! Kenzlee was vulnerable as she was every open to Nashton, until she assume that Nashton was being like her Ex! They had some issues to resolve, due to Kenzlee insecurities. I loved the ending and hope to see more of Nashton and Kenzlee!
This was an emotionally charged read. The author has done their job when they can draw several emotions in one read. Sorrow...anger... remorse... happiness...I got mad at the co worker and the less than stellar boss. I got even madder with that cheating ass boyfriend and his selfishness...the karma of the baby not being the boyfriends. The good healthy relationship with the boyfriend's family. .
This was sweet. Not a lot of hooplah or craziness, just sweet and to the point.
Nash was a man of his word. Easy going, handsome, and genuine. He had his eye on Kenzlee for a while but never found the opportunity to shoot his shot. However, the day he did became his best day.
I enjoyed the story. The MMC was patient, loyal, loving, a protector, and understanding. The FMC however was sweet, loyal, but sad and filled with hurt. When they encounter each other and he offers her a different view she begins seeing life in a new light and begins to free herself from what held bound.
OMG from the Harry Potter to them watching it’s always sunny in Philadelphia babyyyyyyy, I love them together so bad! The way Nash took care of her heart from the first day he asked her out, was top-tier. I love how Nash helped Kenzlee through her much-needed healing with no questions asked. So cute. Great ending!
I did not like Jonathan at all. He is an a**hole. You cannot put a timeline on grief. Everyone handles grief differently. Instead of being there for Kenzlee, Jonathan's childish behavior brought about more pain.
Thankfully, Kenzlee was blessed with Nash. A protective and well intentioned man! I enjoyed how their relationship blossomed.
Omg grief is a hard thing to experience in general but to be grieving your parents and then find out your boyfriend is cheating and not supporting is another ball game ! Nash shooting his shot was the best part of the book lol 😂 I love how their relationship flourished & enjoyed this story!
Just goes to show that there is light at the end of the tunnel …. Keep pushing 💪🏽💕🤞🏾
Kenzlee and Nashton's journey to love is a feel good story. Although Kenzlee went through depression, grief, and heartbreak to get to her HEA, Nash was the right man for her. Nash is financially successful, emotionally mature, protective, and loving. This is my introduction to Rayvin Skye and I enjoyed her writing.
OK, this is a new to me author. I didn’t feel like it gave a good description of the characters physically and I may have missed it, but I have no idea where they lived. It was an OK story. I also realized that I did not like the singular point of view.
I love a good slow burn. This was all about supporting your partner, depression, and loving a person to set them free from hurt. Yes Nash did that. Whew this was a great read
I love how they show how Kenzlee character is showing how her struggles didn’t define her and how she lets Nashton show her what a real man can be and how they are supposed to treat a woman. I love how they story show how they were ther for each other .
Nash was a true man and an excellent lover. Kenzlee was a hot mess. She allowed her grief to almost make her loose her mind. Nash was just what she needed. Great story about a hard love
What a great story! First time reading this author work, truly enjoyed! From beginning to end! Had me locked in! Nash and Kenzlee their openness in communicating was priceless!
Nash and Kenzlee got right to it! They didn’t waste no time showing each other that they wanted to be together. This was a cute read of Love, protection, respect and accountability! I wished the story told Nash’s story from his side though! But it was still a good read.
