The only reservation I have is that some action scenes were a little hurried for me, however that’s a small complaint. I loved reading this novel, and I would like to read all of the novels before this one. I think that this is because the author has such an understanding of their characters. The author had an incredible ability to balance the funny parts and serious parts with confidence that made me feel that they truly know the characters. It is hard for me to describe just how much emotion there was, and how many times I laughed out loud. There are several different areas where there was a tear in my eye. Overall, I would highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a fun read. This series, however, does deal with adult themes, including sex, violence, and some language. The author did a great job of making sure that the themes of the books were handled well, and respectfully. One thing that really impressed me with this author was the way they wrote the main character being transgender. They didn’t write it as a plot point or something to be taught, but as who Danielle is. I appreciated how natural it seemed. There wasn’t any preaching going on here; the story trusted that we knew that people are multi-faceted without needing us told. Overall, I thought that this was a wonderful story, and I look forward to continuing through the rest of the series. The author has done an excellent job of creating characters that you grow attached to. I am glad to see authors writing stories for all types of people.

Three Cases, One Wild Ride

Okayyy Besties... Danielle Drysdale stays BUSY in this one! I jumped into Book 3 without reading the first two, and while there are plenty of returning characters, I appreciated the built-in refresher that helped me get oriented. The story feels almost episodic, moving through three very different investigations involving diamonds, stolen precious metals, and illegal ivory. My favorite stretch was definitely the ivory case because the undercover work eventually turns genuinely dangerous. Danielle’s bold, sarcastic personality keeps things lively throughout. The writing is very conversational and easy to follow, although some repetitive details and slower everyday moments occasionally dragged the pacing for me.

🥀 My ratings and review are my own. 🖤

I read this book without having read the first 2 books. I was very glad the author took the time to introduce us to the prominent characters in the beginning. The only confusing part was the whole Danielle/Kat however the deeper you got in the book the more clear that became. There are some steamy moments between Danielle and her boyfriend and girlfriend. I enjoyed the fact the author just wrote the scenes and didn't make them the focal point. The cases were full of action and some even dangerous moments. Being a major animal lover i appreciated the sections describing Danielle's work with the endangered animals. Little Tantor, baby elephant, got my heart!!!! I would definitely recommend this book and I'm also going back and going to read the first 2!!

Missing punctuation, grammar issues, definitely not spell checked.
Great story lines, could be stretched to separate books instead of 3 in 1.
Details you don't need are abundant and other details feel like they were just thrown in for good measure to make the story make sense. On the spicy side but even those scenes are kind of blah. The Danielle/Kat thing is a little confusing when you read character descriptions at the beginning and it becomes clearer as the book goes along.

All in all, not a terrible read.

Danielle is a transgender woman private investigator. She has a boyfriend and a girlfriend. She is sassy and beautiful. The adventures in book 3 of the series has some interesting twists and turns as she solves cases for her client friends. This book has some pretty graphic sex scenes, but I actually found them interesting. I am a cis woman, curious how it works for trans. Turns out sex is sex and love is love, imagine that! The story is well written and the characters are interesting.

Excellent story teller. A PI who also handles security at a preserve with exotic endangered animals. She's trans and pretty
