Okay so the plot definitely had some spice and glam. Gabrielle is this rich, spoiled mafia heiress with lots of sass and zero patience. She lives life like a queen but with way too much drama. Honestly, she felt super childish at times and made some really immature choices. Her energy was loud but not always smart.
Beau was supposed to be her tough, no-nonsense bodyguard but the bodyguard part didn’t really stand out. The title gave me full-on protector fantasy vibes, but the actual scenes felt kinda soft. Not much action or those I’ll-die-for-you moments. But still, their chemistry had some fire. The slow burn tension, the banter, the push-and-pull... it kept me flipping pages. Also, some lines and scenes were written in a very filmy way and I liked that. The rich lifestyle, designer fits, secret enemies felt dramatic and dreamy sometimes.
It had potential and I think a lot of readers who love spoiled heroines and hot, quiet heroes might totally love it. Maybe it just wasn’t fully for me, but I still enjoyed parts of it and the writing was easy to follow.
Thank you so much haylingbookstorm and author for the free ARC!!

I really liked this book a lot. It had action, emotion, and a bit of everything. Gabrielle was a very strong female character, not scared of anyone and knew exactly what she wanted. She was the daughter of a mafia boss and had to deal with some intense stuff. Beau, the bodyguard, came into her life and they clashed at first, but the tension between them made the story even better. He respected her strength and treated her like an equal, not like someone to protect only. That was something I appreciated. Their chemistry was powerful. You could feel the emotions growing between them slowly but strong. I liked how their relationship didn’t feel rushed. The mafia setting gave it a dark edge, but there were also soft moments that made me smile. This book gave me everything I enjoy in a romance. Not perfect, but definitely a page-turner. Thank you so much to the author and Hayling Bookstorm for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.

This was a very quick DNF for me—honestly one of the fastest I’ve ever put a book down.

I picked it up after seeing it recommended in a book group, and the premise sounded like something I’d enjoy. I’ve read and liked darker mafia romances before, so I went in expecting something along those lines. Unfortunately, this one didn’t work for me almost immediately.

The biggest issue was the writing itself. The flow felt off from the start, with a lot of awkward or clunky phrasing that pulled me out of the story. Sentences felt disjointed, and the narrative jumped around in a way that made it hard to stay immersed. Some of the wording and expressions also felt unusual enough that it made me wonder if that contributed to the disconnect.

Beyond that, the execution of the story just didn’t feel believable. The early “attack” scene was confusing and poorly explained, and the female main character is introduced as someone highly trained (even described as an assassin), yet her actions don’t reflect that at all. She often comes across more like a sheltered, impulsive rich girl than someone raised in a dangerous, high-stakes environment.

Character interactions didn’t help much either. The dialogue and banter felt stiff and unnatural, and the instant flirting between the main characters—right in front of her crime boss father—was hard to buy into. On top of that, the relationship setup raised some questions for me, particularly given the age gap and context.

There were also a number of smaller details that added up: inconsistencies in tone and setting, odd phrasing, and moments that just didn’t make logical sense (like waking up after being unconscious for days and immediately going out partying).

I will say the premise itself had potential, which is what made this more disappointing than anything else. It just didn’t come together in a way that worked for me.

I’m not rating this since I only made it about 10% in, and clearly it didn’t suit my tastes—but if you’re less sensitive to writing style or looking for a very fast, trope-heavy read, you might have a different experience.

I felt such a rush of emotions reading this book. Sadness for the past that Gabrielle had endured, happiness for the love and life she fought hard for, and excitement for the hard fought battles. This is a story about love, life, and family.

Gabrielle, a daughter to a mafia boss and the next heir of an empire, finds herself in the line of the fire when an ambush happens. Shortly thereafter, she meets Beau St Clair, a bodyguard her father hires to protect his daughter’s safety. Gabby being the strong and first she is refuses to cooperate with her father’s idea and fights back and forth with Beau. As Beau becomes involved in the mafia life, him and Gabby become closer. The admiration and love that Beau developed for Gabby was wholesome. He not only respects her and her position but he fights alongside her like a true partner. He doesn’t waver in his loyalty and commitment to her and protects her with his own life.

Gabby was a strong and witty female character. She refuses to bow to any man and knows entirely what she’s capable of. Not only can she fight and shoot a gun, she wields power with just a gaze. When she meets Beau, that world comes crashing down for her. She realizes that Beau is her other half, equally witty and strong just like herself. Despite her resistance, she gives in to her desires and develops an unwavering bond with Beau. The love they had for each other was unbreakable and undying.

This was a really good mafia book full of twists and turns, surprises, love, passion, and drama!

Wholly whirlwind of a mafia story.

I had so many emotions when I was ready through this book.Sadness for the past that Gabrielle had endured, happiness for the love and life she fought hard for, and excitement for the hard fought battles.

The realizations that come to in this book of what happened years ago and who is involved with trying to bring down her family and her. But they seek vengeance and they come out stronger and happier. I will say the last chapter before the epilogue had me, it was like a cliff hanger but not because you didn’t know what to expect with Beau. But I am thankful they he and gabby got their happy ever after, especially with what all they endured together and overcame.

This was a good story. Heavy on the Mafia which is totally fine but I like a good balance between Spice, Romance and Mafia for these types of books.

This was a good ready but there were some issues I had with the book. I felt like the FMC & MMC were super close, very fast. The FMC was bratty at times and even felt the MMC was too. Plus I didn't like that she was in High School. Yes, I do understand that she is 18 but still didn't sit right with me.

Lets not forget to mention the good things. the Mafia storyline of this book was good. Interesting for sure. The chemistry between the FMC & MMC was good as well. The book kept my attention and overall was a good read.

Thank you Hayling Bookstorm for this ARC.

Okay I’ll start off by saying I’m grateful I was given the opportunity to check out this read 🙌🏻 3.5 ⭐️ I liked it but didn’t love it. I felt it was super long and at times I found myself getting kinda bored and somewhat confused with all the characters in the book. This is a low level spice book so if smut is your thing, this may not be for you. It definitely felt like a young adult book and I found myself thinking I would’ve liked this way more when I was younger. I also felt like Beau gave into his wants super quick and was practically begging this girl to open up to him after a few weeks which I couldn’t understand.

Billionaire’s Bodyguard had me at the edge of my seat, yelling at the pages and falling hard for the characters.

It’s got that perfect mix of danger, emotional tension, and genuine sweetness underneath all the shadows. A few typos here and there, but honestly? The storytelling more than made up for it.

I was not ready for how obsessed I’d get with this world—definitely diving into the rest of the Guns and Roses series ASAP. Fariha Rahman, you’ve got me hooked.

If you’re into bodyguard romances with a dark twist and an emotional core, this one’s worth your time.

4.5 stars and a new addiction unlocked. 🖤

This book had a little bit of everything: plot, storylines, bonds, anticipation, details, and spicy scenes. Gabrielle is young, sassy, fierce and strong--despite what she thinks--and such a badass considering the type of family she’s born into. Beau comes into her life to protect her, but what they didn’t expect was their attraction to each other, they banter but feelings start to grow, and then they realize they are each others other half. Their story is gradual and shows their ups and downs while facing threats from enemies. This book was a really great read that I just could not put down. Amazingly written and planned out. LOVED!

ARC REVIEW

I really wanted to love this book thinking this was going to be my next guilty pleasure as it had so much potential with the mix of danger, romance, and the classic billionaire trope. Unfortunately, the execution didn’t live up to my expectations. The pacing dragged, with long stretches where very little happened, making it a struggle to stay engaged. The chemistry between the characters felt forced at times, and the emotional depth just wasn’t there. Add to that the repetitive dialogue and scenes especially the constant flashbacks that felt more like filler than plot, I found myself skimming more than reading. For a book with a high-stakes setup, it lacked the tension and excitement I was hoping for. Not a favorite, sadly.

Oh. This book. This was my first mafia book, and it won't be my last! I loved this book!

Gabrielle is the heir to the Russian mafia, and at 19 years old, she is getting ready to take over. When an attempt on her life hits too close to home, her father hires on Beau to be her bodyguard.
She's chaos. He likes control.
She breaks rules. He lives by rules.

The tension. The banter. The fake dating. The gala. I loved it all!

The story follows Gabrielle, heir to mafia empire and is ready to take over, but when danger strikes, her father decides to hire a bodyguard Beau. I love bodyguard romance trope, and I was really excited to read this, and I really enjoyed reading it. I loved that, along with spice, the author showed the emotional moments so well. There was a bit of action, mystery and tension too, which was good.

There’s nothing like a good mafia story. This book had you on the edge trying to see who was after Gabrielle. You didn’t know who to trust and who not to trust. Beau was perfect for Gabrielle and so many times you didn’t know if they would make it. Definitely give the book a try. Most mafia books are spicy but note this is a fade to black book. I received this book as an ARC

What a great read!

The main characters relationship was swoon worthy and I loved seeing them grow everyday. The FMC was strong, powerful who knows what she wants and to see her finally meet her match was interesting.

Absolutely would recommend if you love Russian Mafia, billionaire
