Kiss Me And Live: Book Two in the Kiss Me Series

Cerci Calelli has betrayed the man she’s spent nearly two hundred fifty years protecting to gain a life with the love she’s spent just as long without.

As Death’s loyal hellhound-shifting protector, she knows that bringing a soul back from the sanctity of their afterlife is unforgivable, despicable, and entirely unheard of. Death, her best friend, has made his opinion on the subject very well known, but Cerci…Cerci disregards every warning. She brings Nicholas back to life, expecting to start their life together anew. But something goes wrong with the spell, and when Nicholas awakes, he does not remember his wife. Devastated by this new reality, where her husband is present but not himself, Cerci begs Death to gift Nicholas an immortal power and allow him a chance to remember their love.

Death grants Nicholas a gift on the condition that Cerci finds a use for his newly forming power and the immortality that accompanies it. And Cerci does. Only…it’s extremely risky, and it rips open an old wound that she’s never healed from. The one created when she watched a poltergeist tear her husband to pieces. The poltergeists are lethal, merciless creatures who can harm Death himself, but they’ve run out of options. Nicholas must hunt the creatures, or Cerci will have to watch her love die all over again.

Cerci and Nicholas may have a second chance at love, but broken memories and dastardly poltergeists threaten to take it all away. And Cerci isn’t sure she can survive another second without her husband now that she’s finally gotten him back…even if he can’t love her as he did before.

The concept behind this series continues to blow me away.

Death himself passes gifts onto select souls, never knowing exactly what gift will be passed on but it’s always something he needs. In Cerci’s case, he needed companionship. So she became his hellhound. Being besties with Death is iconic. I was so excited to see into the mind of the moody, sassy hellhound we saw from book 1.

But underneath all of it is a devastating love story. Cerci has spent 250 years mourning Nicholas. The love she lost, the reason she died of a broken heart - and preserving him while planning the impossible: bringing him back.

The amount she sacrifices for that chance, and the time it took.. heartbreaking.

And when things don’t go according to plan… it genuinely hurts to watch her unravel. She gave up irreplaceable pieces of herself for this necromancy, only to be faced with the reality that love and resurrection are messy, painful things.

What made this even more emotional was Nicholas still feeling connected to her despite not fully remembering. The loyalty, the pull toward his wife, the tenderness he continues to show her - it was SO sweet.

I also appreciated the OCD representation woven throughout Cerci’s character. Her intrusive thoughts and self criticism are constant companions, and the story does a really strong job showing how exhausting and consuming that can be.

Despite all the grief, and emotional damage… rest assured: they get their HEA!

Overall, this was a creative, emotional paranormal romance with dark elements, unique worldbuilding, and a love story that literally defies death

He grins, the dimples in his cheeks popping.
"No, a woman like you would never ask for what you wanted. But a man like me might decide to make you beg for it instead."

Nicholas Calelli, the man you are 🔥

The depths of emotion in this story are beautiful. Cerci's relationships with Nick, Ruin, and Cassy are so raw and real. They love each other, they hurt each other, but they all respect each other.
I absolutely love their dynamics, the emotional intelligence around the conflicts. Not a shred of miscommunication in sight and I am HERE for it. Sure, the communication is messy and painful, but it's honest and brings a gravity to the emotional plot that makes their connections so much more vivid.
It was really eye-opening to see Cerci struggle with her demon, with herself. To be constantly at war with yourself is exhausting.

A top-tier second chance paranormal romance with gorgeous found family vibes!

ARC Review - Kiss me and Live by M.N. Lash.

Book two in the series. Just check trigger warnings before jumping into this one.

It was a great story once again. Following the heartbreaking story of Cerci and her husband Nicolas. Cerci was always a very strong character with so much going on in her head and trying to bring her down, but at the same time she had so much love and care that she won’t ever admit to.

Nicolas was a real gentleman and trusted Cerci from the start. I enjoyed his growth and the quick and deep friendships he managed to create in a short period.

The story is easy to read and flows well. Some explicit spicy scenes closer to the end of the book around 80%.

Recommended to paranormal romance readers who enjoys a darker story but still enjoys a happy ending and never ending love.

Kiss Me and Live - @m.n._lash (ARC)
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cerci’s determination to bring back Nicholas, her soul bond husband, was heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. You could feel the depth of her love and grief in every choice she made, and it made the emotional moments hit so much harder.

And Ruin… wow. I loved his character SO much. I really enjoyed seeing Death portrayed a little differently than usual. He was written incredibly well and easily became one of my favourite parts of the story.

This book balanced grief, love, devotion, and hope so beautifully.

A really good read overall and definitely one that stayed with me after finishing. 💀🖤

Thank you so much to the author for the eARC!

This is the second book in the Kiss Me series, and we finally get Cerci Calelli’s story. We first met her in book one as Ruin’s (Death’s) companion and hellhound, but this book gives us more about her past and how she became Deaths friend.

Cerci has spent the last 250 years determined to bring her husband back to life, even though Ruin absolutely does not bring souls back. Reading her past completely broke my heart. She was so stubborn when she was younger, and honestly, watching Nicholas work so hard to win her over before she finally agreed to marry him was one of my favorite parts.

Nicholas is such a golden retriever MMC. He’s patient and loves Cerci unconditionally. When he’s finally brought back, he has no memory of who he used to be, which makes everything even more heartbreaking for Cerci.

Overall, I really loved their story. I also loved seeing how much Ruin cares about Cerci, even if he’s completely mad at her I really hope there is another book in the series, maybe with a certain reaper and someone's cousin???
