Let me tell you what being naive and desperate will get you! You will end up agreeing to rob somebody house and getting caught! Ray got caught by Smoov the house whom she tried to burglarize. Smoov ends up holding her hostage in the basement. This book was too good! I’m so ready for book 2.

Aaaahhhhhhh!
Okay now you ladies were on to something either this one but yall broke my entire heart with that cliff hanger !!!! I love the FMC’s attitude - she got that “ima be quiet but when you leave ima talk shit again” with the MMC😂 I can’t wait until the pieces get put together people get exposed and I’m excited to see what’s in store for Smoov &Ray I need that part 2 😊😊

(4.5) Normally I don’t like to begin books from an unfinished series but I kept seeing the promos from the new author (Ice Amillion), and couldn’t wait to get into this one.
I read it in one sitting.
I enjoyed this book - there was so much going on and I wished it was longer because there’s so much to unpack from everyone’s angle. I liked how this book portrayed how some woman would actually react during a kidnapping and during dangerous situations. Also that cliffhanger though?! Wow.
Kendrick is shady and a whole lot of disrespectful names I won’t write here. Smh.

Being a follower and easily influenced is never a good look. Follow your first thoughts and gut feelings. Whatever is done in the dark will always come to light. When secrets are revealed be ready for the outcome. Let’s chat
Rayvn was just a girl trying to make and make ends meet. Having to provide for self at a young age is not what anyone should have to do but Ravyn did😔. She did what she had to do and when things started to crumble, everything became a domino effect of bad luck😔. Even I would’ve been questioning what have I done to deserve all this. Ravyn was alone in all aspects of of life accept her best friend Nell, who wasn’t doing no better than her😔! When you get a vibe or a not so good feeling, you should follow it in my opinion but Ravyn allowed herself to be influenced/pressured and it landed her in a situation she had no way out of🫣. However, what she wasn’t expecting was to be caught and then caught up on the bad side of Smoov. These 2 shenanigans had me laughing cause both of their mouths are something else🤭. Not all only that, their attraction to each other was front and center. Oh but when she stuck witnessing the pain that Smoov was experiencing, I think my girl fell even further into her feelings for him. Time will tell.
Smoov was a man that did all that he can to have a better life. He did not allow growing up in foster care to determine the direction of his life🥰. He allowed the experience to humble him to be a better him. Though he didn’t have it bad growing up, they’re nothing like love from your parents who birth you😔! With having the motherly love from Angie, his foster mother. This relationship with them two is rocky and there is more to the story for sure. He loves her but doesn’t like her and he has grown apart from his foster brothers. Smoov, may have been humbled and didn’t take life lightly, what he didn’t accept was being played or crossed. Well that was all true until he face to face with Ravyn who was at place he knew she had no business being🫣! Ya boy was hot that females were testing him like he was one of them weak 🥷🏽! With all that’s is going on with Ravyn and his family, ya boy was slightly confused and mad at the same time 🫣! All I have to say is the basement though🫣. Oh but one thing he could let go and fought hard was the attraction he had for Ravyn. My boy was hot one min and cold the next🤭. Ms. Slim Thick has him lost 🤭. Not only dealing with the currently shenanigans, he had that trifling and delulu baby mama Keona. Smoov didn’t regret anything in life but messing with her 🤣. I honestly felt sorry for him cause ain’t no way she that delulu. Like how many ways does he have to tell her there’s nothing there🤭. But when he gets word about his baby brother Jay, everything hit the fan. Not only dealing with Jay, secrets gets dropped that has Smoov looking at his foster mother like she a complete stranger. They playing on my guy top and I don’t think they ready for the outcome. Oh and can’t forget Ken. Listen this 🥷🏽 ain’t it and his secret are about to surface and when they do🫣. I don’t think he’ll be a match for Smoov.
Keona is the most trifling baby mama thus far🤭. Like babygirl is you cool. Like you so worried about Smoov, that you barely hear she’s with their child. Ole girl claiming a man that not claiming her but in her mind that’s her. Then the pop ups😳! She’s about to write a check she can’t cash.
Then there’s Purp and Cham🫣. These to bums here are just money hungry and didn’t work for the life they lived. They worked my nerves especially how they peer pressured my girl Ravyn into their mess😔. All I have to say is they going to learn and going to be a hard lesson🤭 but well deserved in my opinion.
This was a good collab with these two authors. The flow, storyline and plot were great. Not once was I lots reading. Oh but that twist with the foster mother 😳! Looking forward to book 2 cause the way this ended left me with my jaw on the ground🤭. There’s one topic I would like more of and that’s more of the back story on the brother Jay. Wonder how he got to life he is living.

A fast paced entertaining read that flowed really well and had you invested from the start until the end.
This could've been a 5 star rating but I took a star off because the storyline was unrealistic at points. For example, when Rayvn went to get an ice pack for Ken how did she know where to go and find it? Why didn't she use that opportunity to escape? The moment she was released from that basement she should've been plotting her escape 👀.
And, it got more unrealistic when Smoov requested she cook-after he starved her to the point of her losing consciousness and throwing up 🤦🏾♀️? Plus a foot injury? Those moments threw me off. But not enough to kill the vibes. Because I was invested in the overall storyline.
I loved the multi character POVs so we could see the story from different angles. Love the cliffhanger regarding Cham and Janell. Loved Ken's POV so we got enough insight into his character and his snakey ways. And Keona was a character-it was funny when she manipulated Smoov to get money from him, I liked that we got her POV too!!
I usually hate when there are pics of the characters because I like to rely on the author's description but in this case the images actually helped to imagine these characters. Great read. Looking forward to reading the next part.

Okay so if you want a nice quick and messy read. This is the book for you! Yes I got some spoilers because I need to talk about some of this. I knew I wasn't going to like Ken from the jump. But his baby mama you are already the reason that these girls came to rob him. they didn't end up with this robbing nobody anyway but why are you taking your females to your best friend house???? But if he had all these cameras and security how come he didn't know that homeboy was using his house. I really don't even want to get started on his baby mama because she irked my nerves so bad!! The plot twist about the mom I honestly did not see that coming. I have so many questions. Who was at cham door? Why didn't he say anything about what he seen in his phone?

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it was from 2 ppl POV. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed this book the way that it was written, but I would have enjoyed it more from the MMC and FMC POV. Every time someone else was introduced, I rolled my eyes, lol. I wanted more of the two of them for sure.
Now, let's get into this book. The FMC had fallen onto hard times, and her bestie tried to help her out as best as possible. Ravyn being gullible fell right for the okey dokey. Ole girl talked her right into a lick that turned out bad.
Well, was it really bad when she got the man in the end? It took some work, but Smoov felt something from the wrip. I definitely think his BM is going to be a problem that will eventually have to be dealt with.

First things first, I can already see the set up for Smoov and Ray. A beautifully toxic romance is brewing. Ken is flaw. Despicable. Can’t wait for that to be figured out. So much mess man. On to book 2.

3.6 STARS .. For such a short book, I don’t think everyone needed their own chapter. I also usually confirm a series is done before I start a book but I didn’t so it left off on a cliffhanger. I am curious to the story of Smoov’s mom, when Rayvn is going to tell Smoov about Ken and how Smoov and Rayvn’s relationship will play out.

As a reader, I hate multiple point of views.
I was so into the story and then bam, a different point of view came up and it killed my mood of the story instantly.
