Heart of Stone

Hmmm?

This was a fairly good short read. I don’t know if you could call it much of a romance. There was one kiss prior to them, declaring their undying love for each other. It really didn’t have a whole lot of substance. A book doesn’t have to have sex on every other page but come on hop out a bit of interaction if they are going to fall in love.

An easy to read, know what you are getting, kind of book that was just a bit cliché and rushed. I actually think the author has a beautiful way of expression and the descriptions of feelings and environment are lovely it's just that the story has zero development or yearning etc it is like the whole middle section of it is missing. In fact the whole meeting of the characters to the eventual falling in love happens in less than a week, which even for this genre is short. It reads like a short story competition entry- I won't be reading the others in the series.

Captivating Series

I really enjoy reading books that belong in a series. You get to know the characters from different points of view as you read each successive book. This series is especially refreshing for me because there are not a bunch of detailed sexy scenes, but you get to use your imagination instead. I just finished book 7 and cannot wait to continue on to book 8!
Thank you June Wilder for creating such a pleasant reading experience!

Too driven...

I thought that Stone was too driven. It was to the point of being mean and cruel. The entire book was consumed with him and his feelings. There was not even a single sex scene. The author could have used this to give him some human feeling. Then at the end we have a happy ever after? Not believable.

Great

What an awesome read. It jumped right into the heart of the story. Excellent characters that played delightfully off each other. Loved the story line and the subtle love story.

Loved it

This story is wonderful. I absolutely loved the progression of the "Mr. Grumpy" millimeter by millimeter. Miss Sparkle & Sunshine slowly digging her way into his heart. Uncle knew what he was doing!

I’m hooked.

I just finished book 7. Each book has touched me in some way. I’ve cried. I’ve laughed. I’ve rejoiced. I love the characters and I’ve cheered for them as they faced their challenges. I’m downloading book 8 now.

Did Not Finish

In the second paragraph, there is a sentence that reads 'It was a ugly sound.'.

I couldn't read on after that, such a blatant typo so early on doesn't bode well.

I won't rate it though, I didn't actually read it.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

This fast reading novella was really well written. The characters were strong. I liked that the story stayed true to the personalities of the hero and heroine all the way through. Would be interested in reading the other books in the series.

The descriptive writing is fantastic. High quality. But I was missing some sex, any sex. This was a chaste read otherwise I would have given 5/5. Regardless I’ll try the second book. Maybe the spice improves.

Heart of Stone

The intense reality of this story was true to the farm life. When the tough get going it provides the necessity of sticking with the plan.

This was basically a shell of a book. There was zero spice and the story was thin. IMO… waste of time reading this book!

This story spells out the struggles of a rancher and a woman who inherits half his ranch. Long drawn out struggles got a little boring for me but the story as a whole was a good concept.

Cole has spent 10 years holding his family's ranch together. Then his father dies and leaves half the ranch to Cole and half the ranch to Maya! They must also co-habitate the ranch for 6 months before she can sell her share. Maya tries to work with him but he fights her at every turn. Then the bank calls in the note and Maya turns over all her savings to save the ranch for Cole. Cole doesn't understand until he faces her and realizes that she cares for him. Maybe there is hope for them after all!

Great book

The kind if a cowboy story that heals the heart, warms the body with feelings of absolute certainty about people. Even if the past is dark and we don't see the horizon, eventually it will pop up from somewhere unexpected.
