Τα κόκκινα ξυλοπόδαρα

Στη Νεραλία, μια πόλη ονειρική, χτισμένη πάνω στο νερό, οι άνθρωποι περπατούσαν με ξυλοπόδαρα. Τα σπίτια ήταν στηριγμένα σε πασσάλους και οι δρόμοι ήταν ποτάμια… Ο Λεοπόλδος είχε τα πιο ψηλά ξυλοπόδαρα, φτιαγμένα από ξύλο κόκκινης λεύκας. Περπατούσε κοντά στις στέγες, χαμένος στις σκέψεις του, έφτανε ως τα σύννεφα και πότε πότε μιλούσε με την κίσσα. Μόνο όταν ένιωσε μόνος του, έσκυψε το κεφάλι και κοίταξε την πόλη στα πόδια του. Οι άνθρωποι χρειάζονταν τη βοήθειά του για τη Μεγάλη Γιορτή του Χειμώνα…

Éric Puybaret (b.1976, Vichy) is a published illustrator of children's books, graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts.

He has published over 40 books translated into various languages, from classics to poetic and mysterious texts now in turn new classics. Awarded in 1999 at the Children’s Books Fair in Bologna, he is an international aesthetic referent, an author who knows how to draw the subtle substance of fantasy.

Such an incredible visual journey this book provides! It feels like immersing yourself into a set of paintings and discovering a beautiful new world.
Really liked the originality of the story and it got me thinking. I question though how much a child would relate to the story especially as the end felt a bit forced to make a point. Other than that though, it can be a great choice to expand the visual education of children.

Me ha gustado mucho este libro. A pesar de que es un poco aparatoso de leer debido a que es de un formato muy grande, lo cierto es que no pesa nada entre las manos. Se lee en un rato y el estilo de las ilustraciones es limpio y dinámico. Me ha gustado el mensaje que transmite, aunque pensaba que iba a ser diferente. Me gustó mucho como una lectura rápida.
