The Lycan Commander's second chance

Another great read from Ariel Renner set in the world of Clarion. A forbidden shifter romance with quick paced action, captive/captor tension leading to slow-burn romance, human cinnamon roll, dark magic, pack politics, friendship and found family, twists, fated mates and love

Following on from "Alpha's Arranged Marriage" Rhiannon is still feeling rejected by Alpha Xander for taking Thea as his Luna and following an outburst in the council chambers she's sent to retrieve items from Thea's home in the Outer Lands. But while there the home is checked on by Thea's best friend Ethan. And as he's seen them they know the law is that he should be killed but they take him back with them realising he's close to their Luna.

When Ethan wakes in Clarion he soon realises he's in a different world but he's unafraid, flirting with death, particularly when the Commander's around as he can't stop thinking about her. To keep him alive they give him the role of PA and bodyguard to Thea, with Rhiannon training him (leading to some wonderfully fun scenes with her fighting the attraction between them and him just flirting).

He might be seen as weaker than the lycans but he also might be the only one able to help when there are violent attacks during a peace summit with the Shamans. And when Rhiannon realises that he's her fated mate she's torn. Humans don't belong in her world but watching their romance grow you see how strong Ethan becomes to protect the woman he's come to love and the pack that's become family for him.

If you are a fan of paranormal romances this will not disappoint; with some great twists and a lovely ending (you can't help fall in love with Ethan and his flirting).

Now they have to figure out how to keep him alive since law says any human who learns about them must be killed. That's when he starts to make things complicated....he thinks Rhiannon is sexy when angry and beautiful.
Then an elder with his family arrives for peace talks. His daughter is attacked supposedly by one of the guards. Now an investigation needs to be conducted. That's when Ethan tells Rhiannon about a "gift" he has.
Will he and his gift learn what is going on before worse happens?
A story with action both physical and emotional.The reader is drawn into the story whole heartedly.

Alpha’s Rejected Warrior grabbed my attention right away and kept me invested until the very last page. I enjoy paranormal romances with strong emotions and high stakes, and this book delivered both while still giving the characters room to grow.

I really liked that the main character didn’t let rejection define who they were. Watching them find their own strength and confidence made the journey feel rewarding, and I found myself cheering them on through every challenge. The romance had plenty of emotional tension, and I appreciated that trust and love had to be earned rather than coming too easily.

The action, pack dynamics, and unexpected twists kept the story moving at a great pace. Every time I thought I knew where things were headed, something happened that made me even more eager to keep reading. I also enjoyed that there was a nice balance between the romance and the larger story.

I finished this book feeling completely satisfied and wishing there was more to read. If you’re looking for a paranormal romance with strong characters, heartfelt moments, and a story about finding your worth despite the odds, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author through BookSprout. This is the story of Rhiannon (the commander of the Alpha’s guard) who falls in love with (insert gasp here) a human!!! 😱 The book starts with Rhiannon and a few of her guard being sent to the human realm to pick up some sentimental items from the old apartment of their very pregnant Luna, Thea - she is half human/half Shaman. While there, in walks Ethan, who had been keeping up the apartment and watering her plants since Thea disappeared 1 year ago. They didn’t know what to do with him, so they take him back to their village to let the Alpha - Xander - decide. He happens to be Rhiannon’s ex until the Moon Goddess declared that Thea was his fated mate. So, awkward! The shenanigans ensue from there. I don’t want to give too many spoilers but this book kept my attention and I would have read it quicker if my adult responsibilities did not get in the way. It had a devious plot, it was funny and had a great romance in it. The spice was spicing as well. This is my first book by Ariel and I will read more as I could really visualize everything that she was describing. There is an HEA.

This was a page turner! I was so invested that I read the book in one day!. It was fast-paced with a good story and had a lot of engaging action. There was also a bit of mystery that I had not expected.
I loved the characters and how well they were developed. Rhiannon's struggle to find purpose and to be genuinely seen & loved and Ethan's need to be accepted and worthy of Rhiannon were so well written. It felt like I knew the characters personally. Ethan's observations and analysis were top tier. The author did an amazing job at showing the value of his skills, especially when he was watching and learning about Rhiannon & her reactions.
The spicy scenes weren't overwhelming or random and didn't outshine the story. I saw the love Rhiannon & Ethan had for each other despite the odds they faced.

If you're looking for an enemies to lovers story with a bit of mystery, action, and a kick-ass heroine with a human mate, this book is for you!.

I enjoyed reading this sweet, somewhat spicy romantasy with a HEA. The FMC, Rhiannon, is the Commander of the Guard for the Crescent Pack of wolf shifters. It was expected that she would be mated to the Alpha, Xander, until he found his Fated Mate, Thea. When the very pregnant Thea requests that some of her things that she left behind in her apartment on Earth, Xander sends Rhiannon and a few of her fellow guards to retrieve them. There they encounter Ethan, Thea’s best friend who has been watering her plants and paying the rent for Thea’s apartment. But it is against Shifter law for humans to know of their existence. Strangely drawn to Ethan, Rhiannon brings him back to Clarion instead of killing him, but his fate must be decided by the Alpha King. There are additional plots and subplots with a few unexpected plot twists, most of which were resolved before the book concludes.

Rhiannon, our fierce warrior and Commander of the Alphas Guard, is slowly getting over the rejection by her alpha, Xander, when he took another as his Luna (very, very awkward situation). She meets the human, Ethan our MMC, on an assignment and things take an interesting turn from there …….

I really loved the mystery entangled in this storyline. It kept you guessing until near the end when things got intense in a battle that was action packed. Throughout this book you can expect plenty of romance, sizzling spice and entertaining banter with an ending that will make you smile.

The characters were very compelling and complex and complicated. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

You know when you read a book and the story and characters just click within the first few pages. This happened to me with this book and I read it in one sitting, with a big smile on my face, as I couldn’t put it down.
The bad guys are suitably evil, and have a suitable finale.
The good guys, Rhiannon and Ethan, are going through traumatic situations. I love how they can't stay away from each other, no matter how hard they try, no matter how many roadblocks they put up!
I love their chemistry, their feelings of doubt, hope, and how they have friends to lean on.
This is pure entertainment, with up and downs, and a lovely HEA!

Great Story with Unexpected Twists

Rhianon and Ethan are unexpectedly paired as fated mates. Eddie is human and is unexpectedly thrust into Rhianon's world of werewolves and other magical beings. At its heart, this is a love story wrapped in a high-level treaty negotiation storyline. Intermingled with this is an attempt to sabotage the treaty. While Eddit lacks the physical strength of a werewolf, he has his own strengths that play a critical role in the outcome. There is romance, court pageantry, and a mystery. The character development is well done. This was a captivating read.

There is just enough HEA, Intrigue and suspense to keep you hanging on to the very end. It was a story about finding happiness and love after a heart ache and broken trust and abandonment that could cripple even the strongest person. It was a consent struggle for the main characters because in one world where human's are not aloud and dominance is ruled. The characters are trying to find where they fit into a world that doesn't accept them. But in the end they find there way and acceptance, happiness, love and their purposes in this word.

Alpha's Rejected Warrior book 5 of the Shifters of Clarion by Ariel Renner is Rhiannon and Ethan's unpredictable story. I really enjoyed the role reversal Rhiannon being the alpha in the relationship, but Ethan is perfect for her and after what happened in previous stories very happy that Rhiannon got her fated mate. Great story!

Great book, naughty short read but well worth it. Loved the character development due to their past. Glad she stopped denying herself ethan, but would’ve thought she would know the mate pull if she was originally rejected by the alpha. Loved Ethan and his flirting had me giggling how it was annoying Rhiannon.

I thought the book was just ok. I definitely preferred this one to the previous one. There was a bit more storyline involved although I didn't feel as connected to our 2 leads. This has a reverse dynamic though, so our heroine is definitely the alpha. So stay away if you don't enjoy this. 3.5 stars
