The Castaway Pirates: A Pop-Up Tale of Bad Luck, Sharp Teeth, and Stinky Toes

Rate this book
In this pop-up pirate adventure, five pirates try to avoid being eaten by a shark when their ship springs a leak. They try to plug the hole with everything from the captain's coat to his rope, but in the end it's their smelly feet that turn the shark away. Each spread features a colorful, intricate pop-up designed by a master paper engineer, and the pop-ups grow more elaborate with each turn of the page.

Okay, so I collect pop-up books and this is delightfully illustrated and the pop-ups are equally delightful. May I just add the shark's attitude is great! Thanks Ray Marshall, please create another pop-up book.

Really fun children's picture book with rhyming text and impressive pop ups on each page. This has been a fun book to read over and over again- it's a favorite of ours.

This quickly became my three year old son’s favorite book. He found a copy at the library and I ended up having to find a copy to purchase online because he didn’t want to return it. I wish this author had more pop up books like this. The pop-ups are incredibly detailed and beautifully made.
