Kent’s book truly could not have been more divinely placed in my life. I truly thank God for the timing. I sat, one sitting, and read, taking notes for my prayer life that have revolutionized my faith, my walk with Christ.
In this post-2020 world, it seems like most of us are living by the motto, “ You can never be too careful.” We need the reminder that yes, we can be too careful. We all love being comfortable. My heart has always longed for adventure and stepping out. I’ve gotten too comfortable, too careful. This book was a helpful reminder that life is about taking risks and stepping out in faith. “Do It Afraid” is very practical , easy-to -read and Biblically-based. I found myself encouraged and challenged at the same time.
The pages of this book are filled with practical wisdom for decision making and living our lives to their fullest potential with God leading us. His personal story is a great example of stepping out in the face of fear. He doesn't shy away from the times he made mistakes- he humbly allows his readers to see that which brings a relatability to his words. If you ever need to be inspired to do what God is telling you to do in the face of fear- this is the book for you!
That’s my best friend, and I’m incredibly proud of him. I encourage you to add Kent’s book to your library and apply its truths to your life; you’ll only grow from it. I highly recommend it.
"Just when my family got comfortable, I started to feel uncomfortable. Something began to shift in me - I couldn't put a finger on it." - p.29
"(Mike) Tomlin says, "Get comfortable being uncomfortable." Take a risk and try something you know God has already called His Church to do." - p. 139
I heard Kent’s story in a sermon and I’m so glad he made a book out of it to inspire even more people to DO IT AFRAID, whatever God is calling you to do. Of course as humans we have to engage our reason and ask a lot of questions maybe before we jump in and Kent gives the encouragement we need to DO IT, even with your fears. God’s got you, and he always will.
I enjoyed every page of Do it Afraid. Kent knows how to share a story and gives biblical principles to trust God more with the purpose He has set for you and to lean in to it.
WOW!! This book really spoke to me. You are either all in for God or your out. Kent, thank you for writing this book. I will "Do It Afraid" and will start writing the book I have put off way to long.
