Dr. Wren Calloway is a veterinary behaviorist, and has relocated to her grandmother's house in Maine after her divorce with her golden retriever Biscuit. Biscuit was surrendered because of extreme anxiety, but Wren was able to retrain him--he's very sensitive to people and different situations. When Wren finds a body her first day in town, the police say it was just an unfortunate accident. But with Biscuit's help, Wren discovers that the man was murdered. He had uncovered some damaging information about powerful people. Wren makes some foolishly dangerous choices, but the sense of community in the small town, the promise of close friendships and possibly romance, and an exceptional canine friend make this a great feel-good read for mystery fans.

Not your typical Cozy mystery
As a retired veterinary nurse, I nabbed this book a few weeks ago. It ended up being more than I thought it would be. My original profession was to be a marine biologist & to do rehab & release of marine life. I then switched to vet med. This book hit both. Not to mention my interest in animal behavior. I plan on getting the rest of the series. This is not your typical funny, warm & cozy mystery. There are some Very serious issues addressed in Wren & Biscuit's first mystery. While I never made it to the ocean, I have had to deal with some similar issues in my regular & ER nursing days.

This one's pretty good. The main character is likable, if too reckless for her alleged profession to be credible, and all I knew until the end was that we hadn't heard all the story.
A good editor would have caught the few minor issues, like Wren letting out her cottage for two years as a vacation rental, but then the bedroom still smelling faintly of her grandmother. There are a few poorly written paragraphs with sentences that all, similarly, appear to have been two sentences that somehow got juxtaposed and now make no sense. There's Cal remarking about a note no one told him about. Minor things.

When Wren inherits her Grandmother's cottage, she moves with her dog, Biscuit, to the coast. There she finds a dead body, or rather Biscuit finds the body. The dead man was beloved in the town and although the police want to think it was an accident, Wren, as she learns more about the deceased, believes that he was murdered. Thus begins this cozy mystery. The best part of this novel is Biscuit. He is astute, trustworthy and sweet. I don't typically like cozy mysteries too much because they are often simple and predictable. But add a wonderful animal and the story becomes more interesting and entertaining for me.

Best mystery I've read in a while!
I thought this was going to be the usual, simple cozy mystery. But it started out with a bang right from the beginning, and progressed into an exciting story, complete with lots of interactions with the locals and followed by drama, including lots of plot twists.

a woman, her fog, and a mystery
An enjoyable tale of a vet behaviorist who moves to a small town and becomes embroiled in a murder mystery with the help of her dog biscuit. The move ultimately becomes just what she needs in her life and she is home! The characters are credible and likeable and I hope we have more books toco e!

I really enjoyed this book. I gave it 3 stars because I didn't like e the repetition of describing the harbor, the cafe and grandmother's house. Also, I think whoever proofed this book needs to reproof and edit it. This will not stop me from reading her other books because it did keep my interest til the end.

loved this book
Only problem was that she found an injured cat the first few hours and then..
Nothing. She didn’t take it to the vet and no mention until the cat was “newly found” later. I understand that it is easy to lose track and I’m guessing the initial find was a way to introduce the vet... but please remove it. For us cat lovers, it could be very distracting.

I really enjoyed the New life that was shown commencing in this book!
The book took a broken woman, unsure of what to do next, and presented her with everything she needed to find her new way to become a true member in a better life with self-esteem and a path she would follow to overcome the bad times and commit to hap

Recommended you read this book
I started reading and could not put it down. Hubby no t at all pleased, he had to wait for his lunch. Enjoyed very much kept me reading page after page. Loved box hit the dog. Enjoy as able entertaining. Story.

A GOOD READ
Great start. Memorable, likeable characters. But in a sense the main character became too wonderful, so sure of herself and her greatness that she lost some of her initial appeal. Still, all in all, an enjoyable read.

A must read for those who enjoy reading.
The characters were honest and real. I never felt the course of the story to be contrived or unrealistic. Difficult to put down and far to easy to pick up, when a little free time arose. I'm looking forward to the next adventure.

Mystery and solid characters
Normal people, ordinary activity, a dog, an injured cat and danger all on the same day. Mystery, intrigue, descriptive images made the cove and town come alive. A weaving of daily life and weaknesses that others take advantage of. Truth wins out.

super book read in one sitting
This was a fabulous story with exciting twists and characters you that pull you in. I always love a good series with strong female leads and this one didn’t disappoint I’m getting the rest of the series now to keep reading

Found a new author that can write great books
This story was imaginative and very different. Not the standard lost woman finds a body and falls for a cop. This story has odd careers and a relevant storyline about dumping in coast.

Easy going story
At a time I needed relaxed, this book was perfect. A little mystery a dog who has good instincts and just an enjoyable read. It made me smile during a tense time, thus the 5!

A good storyline and characters
I loved the storyline and the role the dog plays. I could relate to the characters. It sometimes felt a bit hurried, I would have liked it to develop more gradually and fully.

Nothing better than starting your first days in a new town,than finding trouble. Sounds like Seen will be good at finding trouble too. Worth following up on her antics in future reads.

Sophie Lyon’s Stay is a fun, cozy mystery about a woman who finds a perfect life after being hurt in her previous life. Add a murder, conspiracy and environmental issues and you have a good story. The townspeople and fishing history add to the excitement.

A really good story!
I really enjoyed reading STAY. It is a sweet story about life and finding yourself and where you belong. It is a mystery, handled well, and not really a romance story. It is just, plain good!
