Bourbon Chase: A Legal Crime Thriller with a Slow-Burn Romance

by Alexi Venice

A legal crime thriller set in San Francisco, where a hospital murder investigation collides with a slow-burn sapphic romance. Courtroom pressure, police procedural detail and a love triangle that tests every loyalty.

A murder investigation at a San Francisco hospital forces personal and professional worlds to collide.

ER physician Jen Dawson has built a life she understands, with long shifts at San Francisco Community Hospital, triathlon training, and a steady relationship with homicide detective Tommy Vietti. But when one of Jen’s colleagues becomes the prime suspect in a murder, her personal and professional worlds collide.

As the investigation deepens, Jen is forced into close contact with Amanda Hawthorne, a formidable District Attorney whose sharp instincts and dangerous appeal challenge everything Jen thought she knew about herself. When they clash over Jen’s role as a witness in the case, professional tension exposes fault lines of desire and loyalty that no one involved is prepared to face.

With a murderer still at large and careers and relationships on the line, Jen must decide whether to reveal the truth, and what it may cost when it finally comes out.

Bourbon Chase is the first book in The San Francisco Mystery Series, blending legal and crime thrillers with a slow-burn, character-driven romance.
