If you’re like me and enjoyed The Meant to Be novels, Snow This is Love will make your heart happy. All of the original authors of the novels are back to give us updates on how life is going for the modern Disney princesses who served as the protagonists in the novels. Each story in the collection takes place during the holiday season and gives the reader a glimpse of how life is going after the “happily ever after” of each novel.
While the writers provide context for the couple at the center of each respective story, I think that those who have read the novels will get the most enjoyment out of this collection. Each story had its strengths, but my standouts were “Siren in the Snow” by Zoraida Córdova, which ties to the retelling of The Little Mermaid in Kiss the Girl, and “Best (New Year’s) Day Ever” by Christina Lauren, which ties to the retelling of Rapunzel in Tangled Up in You.
Some of the stories take place years after the end of their book while others jump ahead just a few months. Overall, the stories provide a cozy visit with these lovable characters and their modern-day Prince Charmings.

Snow This is Love is a collection of short stories with characters from the Meant to Be series. Since I have only read two of the books in the series, not all of these short stories appealed to me.
Deck the Heels by Julie Murphy- a novella with the characters from If the Shoe Fits (Meant to Be: Book #1) Henry and Chrissy spend Christmas in L.A. with her family. I didn’t read this book so I was missing a lot of the backstory.
Beauty and the Baking Battle by Jasmine Guillory- a novella with characters from By the Book (Meant to Be: Book #2) Izzy and Beau participate in the reality tv show, The Amazing Baking Battle, during Christmas time. They work together with their fellow contestants to keep the show's wholesome image while an unscrupulous production team tries to wreck it. I think this one worked the best as a standalone for people who hadn't read the books.
"Siren in the Snow" by Zoraida Córdova- a novella with the characters from Kiss the Girl (Meant to Be: Book #3) Eric has the perfect engagement planned for Ariel but a blizzard gets in the way.
"The Best (New Year’s) Day Ever" by Christina Lauren - novella with characters from Tangled Up in You (Meant to Be: Book #4). Ren and Fitz go on vacation and return to her homestead for New Year’s Eve. I didn’t read this book so I did’t know the backstory of the characters.
"Dreaming of a Perfect Lunar New Year" by Jesse Q. Sutanto - a novella with characters from Worth Fighting For (Meant to Be: Book #5). Mulan and her cousin Mushu plan a huge Lunar New Year Party for clients and a potential client. When clumsy Mulan trips into a family altar, their party plans start to go awry. Turns out it’s not bad luck- just Shang wanting to propose and the family getting involved without asking.

Such a sweet collection of short stories that I'm so glad I got to read.
Deck the Heels - I enjoyed the realistic portrayal of a relationship that's in a reality TV spotlight. It was fun to read about Cindy and Henry's turmoil about showing their story to the public while wanting to keep it to themselves.
Beauty and the Baking Battle - I absolutely loved this one, my only complaint being that I need the recipes for the delicious sounding cookies and bûche de Noël as soon as possible.
Siren in the Snow - Also a very sweet story that makes me want to take off and ski where the characters were. This was a cute and chaotic story of every obstacle you could imagine getting in the way of what should be a perfect proposal for beloved characters.
Best (New Year's) Day Ever - I loved this one because despite the exciting travels I wish I could take part of, it showed a realistic relationship that felt so cozy and warm and perfect indeed for the holidays.
Dreaming of a Perfect Lunar New Year - A very funny story of a main character having to deal with hosting a perfect party but being met with curious mishaps. I loved Mulan and her cousin's bickering and seeing her learn to get through the chaos.

I was thrilled to get my hands on the collection of short stories from some of my favorite authors in Snow This is Love. I was unfamiliar with two of the five authors, but who can go wrong with authors who keep company with Christina Lauren and Jasmine Guillory?
Here’s the problem - each of these stories exists within the framework of prior books from the contributing authors. However, there was no mention of this in the promotion. It is important to know this going in. *I see that’s this IS mentioned in the blurb in Goodreads, but it was nowhere in the ARC.
For instance, the opening story keeps referencing a scandalous reality tv show outcome involving the main characters and is apparently key to the current story but is never explained. So what could have been a nice reconnection with favorite characters ended up being a story seemingly crafted around a very thin thread.
None of these stories worked as a stand alone piece. Even the stories with main characters that I was familiar with didn’t offer enough by way of plot to recommend the book.
This compilation was a miss for me. Thanks to NetGalley and Hyperion Avenue for the ARC.

As a fan of the Meant to Be series, but a bunch of awesome romance writers, I was so excited to see that they were all coming back again to write their own happy endings to their stories. More of the happily ever after stuff. Snow This is Love, is a new compilation of short stories to follow along your favorite fairy tale princesses. Cinderella, Bell, Ariel, Rapunzel, and Mulan. Each got their own modern glow up, each by a different author. But in Snow This is Love, we get tiny snippets of what happens next. I wanted to LOVE this book, because in theory what is not to love. I also wanted a lot of Christmas feels, which I did not get. All 5 stories are told are the winter holidays, Christmas, NYE, and Lunar New Year. I liked the variety there. I liked the book and I liked the concept, but I think I was looking for a bit more. Which makes sense since it was 5 short stories, There is only so much detail and action that you can put into a short story. Thank you NetGalley, Hyperion Avenue, Christina Lauren, Julie Murphy, Jasmine Guillory, Zoraida Córdova, and Jesse Sutanto for this cozy ARC. I wish I had known from the beginning that these were all characters from books that have already been published. This is basically a collection of novellas that take place during the holidays for each duo. Each Novella, referenced events, activities, and even people that didn’t seem clearly flushed out in these stories. Had I known ahead of time, I might have read the other books first before reading these holiday novellas. Each story was cute on its own, but you could tell that something was missing. The first two stories about a former bachelor-style show and the other about a baking competition were my favorites. All of these felt a bit too much like impossible Hallmark and Lifetime movies where the characters always seem to have an unlimited budget and life is too perfect. I was hoping to order this for our high school library, but it is definitely geared more towards adults

First we have Cindy and Henry with a tv wedding in Deck the Heels, then Izzy and Beau in a holiday baking challenge in Beauty and the Baking Battle, next is Eric and Ariel with a surprise proposal and lost ring in Siren in the Snow, then in Best New Years Day Ever is Ren and Edward on a whirlwind trip, and finally in Dreaming of a Perfect Lunar New Year is Milan and Shang dealing with a cursed Lunar New Year party.
Overall I liked the novellas. It was lovely to get a peek at what the characters are up to during the holidays and revisit their fairy tales. If someone has not read the original Meant To Be collection, however, they would be missing important context.

Well, as other reviewers have said, it was not clear from the description of this book on Netgalley that this collection of short stories / novellas is basically a continuation of previously published full-length books. Technically they can be read as standalones I suppose, but as someone who read them that way, it’s not a great reading experience. Novellas are already tough to get a good feel on the characters and story and in this case, it was worse than normal. I did not really feel the connection or chemistry between any of the couples in the stories; I didn’t feel any excitement about returning to this book each day. I hope that other readers who have a better understanding of the backstories will enjoy it more than I did.

Snow This Is Love was such a cute collection, and I loved getting to check in with some of my favorite Meant to Be couples.
Each story was so sweet and had me smiling throughout. I especially enjoyed getting little glimpses into what these couples were up to after their original stories, and each novella brought its own holiday charm while still feeling connected to the larger collection.
Honestly, I can tell I loved this book because I eventually stopped taking notes while I was reading it. 😂 I was just having fun and enjoying each story as it came. Between the different holiday settings, familiar characters, and cozy romance, this was such an easy and enjoyable collection to pick up.
If you’re a fan of the Meant to Be books, this is a fun way to spend a little more time with some beloved characters and get a dose of holiday romance along the way.

Cute short story collection for the 5 books in the Meant to Be collection. If you didn’t read those books, you probably wont appreciate these. The stories are centered around winter holidays. You get glances of what happens next in the stories, but nothing too deep and everything is pretty saccharin. Read if you’ve been following the series. Otherwise, pass.

I received an advanced copy at a book event for Christina Lauren when Lauren Billings handed it to me herself. I’m forever grateful for that experience.
I did read all of the Meant to Be books so I went into this knowing all of the back stories. Even as someone who read them though, I’d forgotten a lot and therefore can see how it would be confusing for someone to only read these. Just like the standalone books, some of these were a miss for me and others I liked. I enjoyed the Ariel and Ren (Rapunzel) stories the best.
Overall, it’s a fun little read for the holidays.

This anthology of stories in the Christmas season offers wonderful characters and events; two reality stars not wanting to get married on reality television, a baker and his girlfriend trying to win a baking contest, a singer creating the perfect proposal when the weather does not cooperate, a couple making the most of a bucket list when things change, and a new Chinese CEO cursed by ancestors. A wide variety of traditions, cultures, personalities, and settings to keep the reader entertained and guessing the outcome.

I am really not sure about this one. I think it’s a mixed bag for me. Two of the stories, were nice and captured the spirit of the holidays but the rest seemed like they’re just going through the motions. Even if these are short stories, I was still expecting a little bit more meat and plot to them.

This was an ARC from NetGalley. Reading about Christmas in August is a little weird but honestly Christmas took a backseat on themes in these stories. It was just a general concept, not the main one.
This was everything you would expect from a Disney story. Wholesome, heartfelt, romantic with little to no drama. All sweet happily ever after wrapped in a bow.

Five short stories that are holiday epilogues of the “Meant to Be” series of modern day fairy tale remakes. I hadn’t read any of the series, but I still enjoyed these stories.

This can't really be read as a standalone, and although I liked the stories, I felt like I was missing a lot. Also I love these authors, but these stories are pretty vanilla compared to their other writing. Life is too short for vanilla.

Short seasonal romance stories mirroring Disney Princesses! Yes! These four stories are sweet quick reads that filled my heart as I read them. They're all sweet and cute stories. The Christmas time backdrop takes the romance up a few notches.

Ok. This was a cute collection of novellas, but they all follow books that are already out there. I have read two of them, and it was fun getting to see what those characters are up to. And for the ones I hadn't read, I did enjoy the stories, even without any background, but I didn't necessarily love any of them. Very enjoyable and cozy, and a very easy holiday read if you're looking for something like that.
