HOLY MOLIE ROMANTASY A RONI!

The first book was so amazing and that energy followed through during the second book as well. We get new characters, we are reunited with other characters and it all makes for an AMAZING plot. We get so much more in depth understanding of the book world and its magical system and I am LOVING IT!

I love that the author explored so many facets of grief, depression, trauma and so many other deep topics while sprinkling in some DELICIOUS steam...

Also... THANK YOU for that certain steamy scene with a certain trio of characters that I was DYING for during the first book.

SUCH an amazing sequel and I can’t wait for the third book!

I didn’t want to put this book down, and the series as a whole is so wonderfully written. This dark romantasy is filled with multiple POV chapters, chaos, prophecies, spice, and so much adventure. Don’t even get me started on how chilling some of the chapters were in the best way possible. I also loved that Kai/Chaos gets their own chapters because I have a total soft spot when it comes to their dual nature.

The worldbuilding was well done, and each piece of the story hinted at something greater. The lore and depth of the setting are one of my favorite parts about this series. Grace is doing her best to heal from the events of book one, and this next installment leaves her little time to rest. Ro is as stoic and swoon-worthy as ever. All of the characters are so likable, and the found family vibes are strong. I feel like pieces of the puzzle were falling into place, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

There were so many scenes I adored, especially the small moments between Ro and Grace, their bantering, and their ever-growing love for one another. I cried, laughed, and talked with the book as I was reading. The authors ability to write what it is to heal, that just makes the scene so realistic and brings the characters together. It makes me want to keep reading. I’m invested in the characters and the world the author has so skillfully built.

I was shaken by the ending. There is so much building in the story that when I started to get answers, I felt like holding on for dear life, hoping that my heart wouldn’t get ripped to proverbial shreds. The power to make people feel any emotion while reading a book is truly a skill, and I always connect so strongly to the characters in this series. They are so human, even in the fantasy setting, the broader overarching lessons on love and loss speak true in and out of the fantasy setting. You won’t be disappointed in this read.

The second book in The Forsaken series and Jessica does it again. I feel so lucky to have been here since her 1st books Beta read. This book continues where the last left off. We reunite with some characters from early book one that didn't get as much attention before. We get to see how the world is changing now that war between gods has been brought to the mortal realm.

I love the growth of all the characters in this series and I may be biased in this but one of my FAVORITE characters is one you might have missed in book one. *Hint: eyeball slap*

I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just leave it with this. If you finished book one screaming "No! What do you mean that's the end?!?!" Grab this book ASAP! And Jessica, keep up the amazing work. These characters feel so real despite being in a fantasy world.
