Landing the lead role in Knotting Hill should’ve been Iris Walker’s big break—a romantic comedy with an all-star cast and crew, and the chance to prove just how good of an actress she really is beyond the roles she’s been pigeonholed into.
Except her heat suppressants just wore off… and the director, cinematographer, writer, and leading man?
Yeah. They’re all her scent matches.
She came to make movie magic, but now she’s just trying not to combust before the cameras start rolling.
Lights, Camera, Knot is a high-heat MMFMM Omegaverse romance filled with spice, nicknames, and all the knotty goodness listeners love.
I really wanted to love this omegaverse romance, but there was not even a sprinkle of plot or push and pull between the pack and the fmc. It literally goes they meet, they realize their scent matches, she goes into heat, and they f*ck. That's the entirety of the book. There's not a morsel of connection or emotion outside of attraction and it was so boring. Where was the tension? Where was the filming plot? Where was the storyline? I'm just so disappointed.
I'd rather shove my head in a gas station toilet than to ever read an omegaverse book again.
I don't even wanna talk about it but a little explanation: I was planning to give it 2 stars since I realized I just don't like the omegaverse trope and maybe if someone likes that they'll enjoy it but it's not just that there's nothing else going on they met on set they realized she's their mate and the rest is spice there's no light or cameras only KNOT and the dialogue??? Cringe and repetitive.
This was my first Omegaverse — heat, ruts, knots and all. I don’t think this is my type of story, but that has more to do with the concept in general than with this book specifically.
As a first-time reader, I appreciated all the details explaining the OV. I can't say I fully understand everything now, but it definitely helped my experience.
The story itself had its sweet, funny, and hot moments, but it wasn't particularly memorable for me. I picked it up wanting a good audiobook and a steamy story — and it delivered on those fronts. The epilogue is set a year later, which I always love in novellas. I also enjoyed the dynamic within the pack and the fact that two MMCs were already mated. And the way they treated their Omega — four gorgeous men hovering over you and giving you everything you need — who wouldn’t like that 😂
This book made me realise that being mated certainly helps with the insta-lust/attraction ick some readers might have 😂 I personally never have a problem with that in novellas.
What I don't particularly like is when authors take existing works and/or names and transform them. It feels a bit weird to me. For example, here the setting is the filming of "Knotting Hill" with characters named Hugh and Juliette…
This is a novella, and it's 6h 20min in audio. Is that too long for a basically two-day timeframe? Maybe. Did I get bored or feel like it was dragging? No.
I have no notes on the audiobook. All the emotions were conveyed, everything was fully brought to life (iykyk). Savanna Thomas was amazing. All three male narrators were perfectly cast for their characters. There was even a singing moment, which was adorable coming from James Cassidy's gruff voice.
This is my first Kayla Grosse novel—she is writing under Kay Lynn here—so it felt fitting to jump in with her first omegaverse. This is only my second omegaverse book, but Lights, Camera, Knot is a great starter for people like me because Grosse went out of her way to really document every aspect of how omegaverse functions and it helped me keep track of things!
I really enjoyed the characterizations of each character. I sometimes feel like why choose, poly, or, in this case, omegaverse books that are also multi-POV become challenging for me to feel connected to each character or feel like they’re distinctive enough from each one another. That was very much not the case here; the pack dynamics were interesting and very layered, and the pack not only felt unique, they also had their own unique relationships with one another within the pack. While I still find the concept of alphas/betas/omegas fascinating, I think this book alone did leaps and bounds in making me ~get it~.
I wish there had been more romance and yearning among the group. I felt like I was being told that that romance and yearning was present but it wasn’t being shown to me through their thoughts and actions. As a matter of fact, for most of the book, I felt like so much of the spice/the omega being in heat felt very clinical to the point that it wasn’t hot for me until I spoke to a friend who also received an ARC and she suggested reading the very clinical “he’s going to do x, is that okay?” “I’m going to put this here and then he’s young to do y, understand?” as consent check-ins and not the crew-standing-around-on-a-movie-set-during-a-sex-scene vibes I felt initially and that helped so much! I wish I understood what the movie was about because I was really intrigued about the on-set accommodations for omegas and the importance of why an omega specifically was needed for the role. Also, I remain unclear about whether or not there were other species or even human beings in this world outside of alphas, omegas, and betas, but that is in no way important to the story!
Thank you to Kay Lynn and her team for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have always loved Kayla Grosse's books so when I heard she was doing an omegaverse romance book I was sooo excited and this one did not disappoint! It's fun and sweet and also so so spicy!!! I would have loved for this to have been longer and I really hope Kay Lynn will give us more from these characters! I can't wait for book two!!!
Kayla’s books are typically a good time, and this new series under her pen name was entertaining. READ THE TRIGGERS if you are new to her books- they are quite spicy 🌶️. I’m still dipping my toes in the Omegaverse genre, but this has been the most thorough explanation I’ve read and it answered a lot of questions I had 🪢🤭.
The audiobook 🎧 DUET narration was well done and the narrators were all very good. It’s a fun listen. Nothing groundbreaking (the FMC was a little too insecure and anxious for me- and I am an anxious girly 🥴), but if you’re looking for a why-choose romance and have a high heat tolerance, then this will likely be a good time ❤️🔥👍🏽.
I went into Lights, Camera, Knot SO excited. I am a huge fan of both omegaverse and Kayla Grosse, so this felt like it was made for me.
And honestly, it delivered, just not quite as much as I wanted.
This follows a pretty classic omegaverse setup. Omega trying to avoid being scented, fails, and ends up with her scent matched pack. No surprises there, and Kay sticks closely to established lore. But everything moves fast. We go from page one to Iris being in a nest with her full pack almost immediately. I really would have loved more buildup, more tension, more courting, and more emotional development before the bond fully locked in.
Once the pack helps her through her heat, it is basically instant love and bonding. Then we jump a year ahead and the story wraps. That was probably my biggest issue. I just wanted more. More time with the relationships, more plot, more of that balance Kayla Grosse usually does so well in her contemporary romances.
Because that is the thing. Her usual strength is blending strong plot with high spice seamlessly. Here, the spice is definitely present, but the plot felt a little thin in comparison.
Now the audiobook. This is where it really shines. Full cast duet narration. Need I say more. Having James Cassidy as the lead alpha and Greyson Owens as the beta was an immediate yes for me. The entire cast adds so much life and depth to the story. I am really glad I listened instead of eyeball reading this one.
Overall, I liked it. I just did not love it. The potential was absolutely there. I just wish it had been more developed. The audiobook definitely bumps it up for me. Thanks Kay Lynn (Kayla Grosse 🙂) for the ALC of your first omegaverse!!
Kay Lynn DELIVERS on this high spice omega verse romance!!! It was hot, loving, and a steamy quick read.
When Iris lands her biggest role yet, she finds out that her heat suppressants have worn out, and her doctor won't prescribe her more. It's totally fine right? Nope! The director, cinematographer, writer, and leading man (all of whom make up Pack Quinn), are her scent matches. Can they continue to make movie magic, while trying not to combust?!
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Savannah Thomas, James Cassidy, Ivan Morea, and Grayson Owens. It was fantastic! It was in a duet style and it made it feel like the audiobook was a full on movie in my mind. I was so intrigued and imerseed in the story! All of the narrators were incredible with their narration. I felt all the emotions, yearning, romance, and all the comedic timing at times.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes Omegaverse romances, a steamy book/audiobook, and a short and spicy read!
Thank you to Kay for an ebook copy to read and review! I loved being able to follow along with the audiobook!!
If you want a super hot and smutty insta-lust heat fest, with all the knots and fists and stuff, then this will be for you. If you want anything more than that then this is not where you find that. Hot, yes. Any type of substance beyond lust? Nope.
This was so cute and spicy!!! I really enjoyed reading this. All of our characters were amazing in their own way and they all fit together perfectly. Can’t wait to read Sadie’s story!
Thank you Kay Lynn and team for this Arc and my honest review.✨
I’m so happy that Kay enter the omegaverse, and I enjoyed this book so much, it did have a few moments where I found kinda repetitive but overall had an amazing time with the story, I enjoyed so much her word games like “knotting hill”, also surprised to see she included a fellow Mexican character 🇲🇽.
Overall Augie was my man, I wan him and I knew he would be the best cuddler 😏🫶🏼✨
I’m a huge fan of Kayla’s work and of omegaverse, so I was so excited to receive this ARC. If you’re looking for a high spice intro to omegaverse, this is the perfect read for you. It works as a strong introduction to the genre with introductions and explanations to the standard elements woven into the narrative seamlessly (there’s also an introduction that includes this info).
Pack Quinn is a fantastic group of three alphas and a beta. Each alpha has a distinct personality and preferences (honestly, a lot of large omegaverse groups are so messy, it can be hard to see where they differ at times), but my personal favorites were Mateo and Augie (the beta) who have a mating bond of their own. For me, they really provided the emotional core of the story, and it shone through in their scenes with Iris.
Iris is a bit of a messy FMC, making career decisions that leave her Omega absolutely desperate for caretaking. And the desperation truly shines, especially when her heat hits.
The bulk of the book is one long heat, and I have absolutely no problem with a lot of spice, but there wasn’t much tension or plot to go along with jt.
Thanks so much to Kayla and her team for the advance copy! I look forward to reading more by this author in the genre.
well that was fun - kayla’s take on an omegaverse, classical kayla and utterly filthy. it was so sweet too with the different pack dynamics and Iris overcoming her insecurities. super fun, super spicy a great lil read. Thankyou for the ARC kayla !! <3
Okay so this was my first actual omegaverse and I gotta give Kay Lynn credit because she really said “don’t worry babe, I’ll hold your hand through the knotting chaos” and honestly? Appreciated. The directory/explanations throughout made this SO much easier for a total OV newbie like me to follow.
And this AUDIOBOOK???? Oh my god 🥵🥵🥵🥵
Savanna Thomas absolutely killed it and James Cassidy’s deep gruff voice?? Sir. Please. Combined with the little singing moment??? Grayson Owens was already a fave for me and Ivan was such a good addition too. The whole cast genuinely understood the assignment.
And the PACK DYNAMIC??? Yeah alright I get the appeal now.
The caretaking. The hovering. The “what does she need?” energy. Four attractive men obsessing over one omega and treating her like the center of their universe? Unfortunately for me, I ate that up with zero resistance.
BUT HERE IS MY ISSUE.
This is marketed as MMFMM and we’re told August and Mateo are together but on-page we are surviving off crumbs and vibes alone (except the one snippet at the end). As an MM romance lover, this personally wounded me because the potential was RIGHT THERE. While I appreciate the focus on the omega / female, I think if there’s a MM relationship within the pack, that needs to be showcased.
But ya.. August? Immediate fave. That basil-smelling beta had me hooked instantly. Quiet, dependable, protective without being overbearing… that man 😅. Every time he showed up I needed more of him immediately.
And honestly that’s my biggest issue overall: I just wanted MORE.
More emotional buildup. More tension. More bonding. More courting. More time watching everyone fall for each other before suddenly we’re fully mated and ready to die together after approximately eleven business hours (don’t get me wrong I understand the story was written in this way due to a few reasons, so this is a me problem).
But to be fair, the mating bond aspect definitely helps the insta-connection work better for me, and this IS more of a novella so I expected things to move fast. But the entire time I kept thinking “if this had been full length I would’ve become absolutely insufferable about it.”
Because the chemistry was THERE. The obsession was THERE. The vibes were immaculate.
I just needed a little more emotional depth, story building and way more MM content to push this into full five-star feral obsession territory for me.
That said? I still had an absolute blast with this audiobook. Sweet, chaotic, spicy, funny, ridiculously bingeable. Such a strong first OV experience for me and now I fully understand why people get completely obsessed with this genre. Thank you for the ALC, this audio is truly spectacular 🤍
Thank you to the author and Netgalley for providing a digital review copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, because the NetGalley page didn't give a whole lot of detail other than describing what happens in the first few chapters of this book. Was it gonna be a slow-burn where they try and resist their attraction while trying to film this movie? Was it gonna be a non-stop fuckfest? What I got, was definitely the latter. The book leans very heavily into insta-love, which is not a trope I enjoy, but it's less insta-love and more insta-lust. There is not a shred of plot or emotional connection found in these pages. Instead they just fuck non-stop and that's the whole book. Where was the filming plotline? When do they actually get to know each other? I understand we didn't have a whole lot of pages to work with, and this book was supposed to be high heat 🔥, but I expected SOMETHING to happen other than non-stop fucking, and it didn't. Other than the weird "conflict" in the third act that was over so fast it's barely worth mentioning. I don't think it was needed to add the unnecessary drama. Also they kept describing their scents throughout this whole book, but they were all food-coded, it reminded me more of a fruit salad and it broke my immersion every time it happened because I had to cringe.🤣 The longer I write this review, the more I realize how much I didn't enjoy this book. Maybe it's my own fault for not knowing what to expect. That being said, I absolutely adored the performance for this audiobook. The narration was so vivid that I thought I was listening to a dramatized adaption, and normally I'm completely unfazed during smut scenes, but the narration definitely made me feel embarrassed. 🤣 10/10 job for the narrators, and the only reason I'm giving this book two stars. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a bad book if all you want to read is non-stop smut. If that sounds like a good time to you, you will enjoy this book a whole lot more than I did.
Holy smokes. This is hot AF (obviously) but it is so incredibly well written. I would recommend this to anyone that loves Omega tales. But, more than that: I think this would be my first recommendation to anyone that wanted to try the omegaverse. Mainly because it’s so clear and concisely written. There’s clear lines and plot. The dialogue is easy to follow. The characters are clearly defined. And, the opening of the book lays out the foundation in an easy to digest manner. It’s great for those that want to dip their toes in this area. And, one hell of a story for us old hats.
The progression and pacing were tight and held you locked into everything that was happening. When I say I loved it… Hell yea I mean it. The characters were terrific. I love our pack and our dear omega/Iris. No notes. No quirks. Nada. ∘•········ʚ ♡ ɞ ········•∘

Take narrators Savannah Thomas, James Cassidy, Ivan Morea, and Grayson Owens and put them in a high-heat Omegaverse with duet narration
***screaming*** I’m swooning.
They all did such an amazing job that the next time any of them pop up in my audiobooks over the next billion years, I’m going to be BLUSHING. ( or the next time someone asks me what my favourite colour is)
If you’re curious to experience an omega heat with three dirty-talking alphas and a filthy beta… read this. Lights, Camera, Knot is high heat, probably 80% spice and 20% plot. Kay Lynn clearly knows how to write smutty scenes, and for her first dive into Omegaverse, she absolutely delivered on the spice. Even though this book mostly spice, it still dabbles in scent matches, heats and spikes, ruts, bite connections/pack bonds, suppressants/blockers, and A/B/O dynamics. Which i think is great for those who want the Omegaverse experience but with mostly the spice.
And a quick note on the scent matches my mouth was watering. The combination this pack has is absolute Perfection.
Lights, Camera, Knot is Kay Lynn’s (AKA Kayla Grosse) if you have read any of her other books, is her first foray into the Omegaverse. There were a few hits and misses for me is this one but she did put a great deal of care into helping those new to this world to understand what everything meant.
What I enjoyed:
The characters were sweet and unique. I loved their connection to one another. I loved how they immediately folded Iris into their pack.
The Narration is absolutely 5⭐️’s - Savannah Thomas, Grayson Owens, James Cassidy, and Ivan Morea truly brought this spice bonanza to life.
The breakdown of the Omegaverse was very thoughtful in the beginning for those that don’t understand alphas, betas, omegas, knots, etc.
What It was missing for me:
This is straight up spice with little story. Not bad, I just would have liked to diver deeper into the pack and their story. If your someone looking the spice up your life, this one is perfect for you. 😁
3.50 ⭐️’s. I was pleasantly surprised to like this more than I had expected. If you’re looking for a spicy why-choose good time, this is for you. If you’re looking for more plot, you should probably skip this one.
Lights, Camera, Knot was a quick MMFMM omegaverse romcom. It was funny, a bit cheesy, basically all spice -- but good spice! 😉 No shifting mentioned but a lot of knotting, slick, and scenting talk. The alpha MMC's were growly and a touch domineering in the bedroom (or as it's called in the book -- "nest") but caring and considerate of the FMC's needs. The beta of the pack MMC was such a sweetie pie... with glasses -- think Clark Kent vibes. 🤓🤤
The audiobook is done in duet narration by Savannah Thomas, James Cassidy, Ivan Morea, and Grayson Owens. They nailed it! Job very well done.
Thank you Dreamscape Select | Fat Babe Publishing, INC and NetGalley for the audio ARC!
This was my first Kay Lynn book and it was fricken fantastic! I love omegaverse books and this had everything I love about OV. The smut was on another level. I’ve never read some of the smut scenes she wrote and they were everything I didn’t know I was missing. I thoroughly enjoyed Iris and her men. Her Alphas and Beta were so good to her. The instant connection and chemistry on page was amazing. I really liked the way they worked through the hard conversations as well. The end of the book was really good and did I mention how much I loved the smut? I was fanning myself throughout the whole story 🫠😅🪭
The audiobook was amazing too! Savannah, James, Ivan and Grayson brought each character to life in the best way and i thought they were the best narrators for the characters they played.
ARC Review- This was a spicy Omegaverse filled with affection and raw animalistic need! I feel like the personalities of the Quinn pack balance each other out perfectly! There’s Wilder, the dominant Alpha, Mateo, the playful Alpha, Jett, the protective Alpha, and Augie, the calming Beta. Then you throw in Iris, the sassy yet obedient Omega and everyone has everything they could ever want! All the mentions of everyone’s scents made me want a strawberry cocktail with lemon, mint, basil and honey. I love that this author always has a plus size FMC, it spreads love and acceptance for bodies with a little more on them to enjoy. If you’re looking for your next Omegaverse book, then look no further!!
Not the worst thing I’ve ever read but it was extremely repetitive, like full thoughts and scenes and sentences would be repeated from chapter to chapter- it was so annoying. Also, each of the characters barely had one thing about them that we got to know in favor of over 50% of this book being smut. Like I could barely distinguish two of these men, and Iris didn’t have a personality at all. Making their designation a separate entity in their head was also dumb, it made them all seem like they had some kind of personality disorder haha. The setup kind of weirded me out too, idk, just not for me and this book needed way more editing.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select | Fat Babe Publishing, INC for the ALC!
If Kayla Grosse writes it I will read it!
I read this book when it first came out and absolutely loved it. The story is fun and so much spice! When I saw that the audiobook was coming out I knew I needed to listen to it immediately!
The narrators completely ELEVATED this book so much. The way that they were able to bring these characters to life so seamlessly almost made me forget it was not real life! It was perfect casting all around and I know that this will definitely be a go to reread/relisten.
↓↓ Whew I love me a good Omegaverse and this hit in all the right places.
This was one spicy book and I loved every single minute of it. It was hot but there was so much more to their story as well. The characters all have an incredible connection and watching them settle in to a relationship that works for them was beautiful.
Smut and spice and all the knots. Sometimes I really just want allll of the nasty knotty spiciness that comes from an omegaverse book. And this one delivered. Don’t get me wrong, yes the plot was very minimal but it is a shorter book and my girl went into heat immediately. So I meannnnn realistically speaking, it was bound to be full of all of the filthy dirty spice. Lol I loved it for an I better book. Each MMC had me blushing the entire time. And the FMC was a plus size woman so I’m here for it.
Honestly this book is so good. I loved the dynamic between the characters and the storyline is so unique and really well written. I do wish we would have gotten a little bit more of a back story for each of the MMC's the author (who i have read and love all of her books) gave just enough to explain dynamic but not enough to give a proper back story. All of that to say I loved it!
