I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the main women characters of this story and watching them become friends through the Queen Bees Book Club. They were all just what the others needed. Great friends! The men in the story are also nicely paired with the women they meet, and I’m looking forward to learning more in the next story!

love this new series.
I want to live in the Colony tiny homes big dreams starting over . The ladies and new friendships for ladies 55 and above .Paige invites a group of ladies for a book club and the friendship begins … Can’t wait for Book 2 and beyond. .. Great fast fun filled read !

I enjoy Maggie’s books and was so excited for this new series! I’m enjoying this first entry and looking forward to the rest. I am a big fan of beachy, feel-good women’s fiction and this scratches that itch.
Pros:
- I absolutely love that it’s set in a 55+ community! So fun to see people dealing with mature problems and making friends.
- I am intrigued that they all live in tiny houses. What a cute idea!
- I love the found family trope and this is clearly going there.
- I was delighted that one of the characters was into video games! In these kinds of women’s fiction books all the characters tend to have typical female hobbies and jobs so it was a fun change of pace.
Con:
- This is something that has bothered me in all of MM’s books—there’s always a lot of diet talk and the characters are always worrying about calories, exercising to burn off their desserts and mentioning good foods and bad foods. It’s SO boring. I’m fine with the characters eating healthy and choosing salads but I wish it would happen without all the internal diet discussion.
And finally an informal poll for other fans of feel-good women’s beachy fiction: How do you feel about lead characters usually being beautiful, thin, rich and often having fancy jobs like high-powered PR pros, attorneys, business owners, famous writers, former models and former actresses? I always prefer characters who are more regular people with normal people jobs (admins, plumbers, project manager…) who are aren’t model gorgeous. But maybe most readers prefer aspirational characters? I always wonder.
Pros:

A New Chapter by Maggie Miller
Just finished this great book and ready for the release of number two in the series. Maggie Miller is a wonderful author. I was anxiously waiting for this series. Several ladies come together in their community to form a tight friendships and book club. A MUST read.

A New Chapter
I am a huge fan of Maggie Miller’s books and A New Chapter certainly didn’t disappoint. My only complaint is having to wait until the next book in the series is released so I can catch up with what the Queen Bees are up to next.
I highly recommend Maggie Miller’s series to women’s fiction fans who enjoy the books they read character driven.

This is my first time reading a Maggie Miller book. A New Chapter is the first book in her Queen Bees Book Club series. It's about a group of women who meet at a 55+ community on the Florida gulf coast. They are all starting a new chapter in life and find support in each other for various things they face. I enjoyed it and look forward to the next book. This would be a good beach read.
