From the outside, Becca Goldberg looks like any normal freshman girl at Tulane, but she’s been keeping a terrible secret. She’s really Allison Moore—a young witch from Peachville hiding out from an evil coven of witches known as the Order of Shadows. She thinks she is safe until an unexpected accident occurs. Now, she only has until midnight on Halloween until her identity is discovered.
She must turn to the hottest, most elusive guy on campus for help. Will he help save her? Or will her life come crashing down around her after midnight?
**After Midnight originally appeared in the Halloween collection entitled “Midnight Kiss”. This story is tied to the Peachville High Demons series, but it can also stand alone!
This book tells you about Allison, who is on the run from the Order. She is going to college and trying to fit in with the other girls. She is trying to be a normal girl, but we've learned by now that nothing is what it seems. I liked books 7 and 8 but this is my favorite of the novellas 7-9.
It was really cool to see how the order worked in other places and what their reaction was to losing all of the initiates in Peachville. As dull as Allison was as a character in the peachville high demons series she is actually really likable in this novella. I found myself wishing I could read more. The New Orleans vibe brought a whole new feel to this world the author created. I was intrigued by John and would have liked to know his story as well.
I love this book. I really loved that Sarra wrote a book about Allison. I enjoyed seeing what happened to hear after some of the stuff that happened in Peachville. I really hope she writes more about Allison and John.
Sarra has me sitting one the edge of my seat waiting for more about what's going to happen to Alison. I can't wait til the next installment is out so I can find out how it ends
5 star worthy! I loved every minute of it! Had tension, mystery, magic, adventure, dark forces nipping on their heels, romance with a dark stranger who definitely had quite a few secrets to him (John Pierce is an excellent book boyfriend!), and in a wonderfully rich setting like New Orleans, dragging us to the rich palatial houses, and into the mausoleum-filled cemeteries, as well as Bourbon Street with scantily clad tourists, and the Voodoo shops. Not to mention that I’m already a fan of the Peachville Demons series, so I loved that it hooked right into it, but gave us new fresh characters fitting into the world Sarra Cannon had already created. And I’m dying to know what happens to them next.
I wish we could read more about the others girls since the Blue gate downfall. I am still waiting for the next main book and I hope I won't have to wait too long. My memory is starting to fade and I really do not feel like re-reading the entire series right now. I want new material to keep me interested.
The love story of Allison and John. Allison is on the run from the Order. She is using a glamour to hide her identity. She take a potion every month to keep her tattoo hidden. It's Halloween and Allison has to take her potion but it was broken by a friend. Can she get more before midnight? Great story.
As much as I love Harper and Jackson,it was refreshing to know that they not alone in the fight to bring down the Order. Its been really good to see Allison grow in After Midnight and find love! After all what is a heroine without her knight in shining armor:)
Fantastic story. Allison/Becca is a delightful mess: a witch on the run, a college student with a crush, and daughter of an extremely anxious mom. It's six hours until midnight on Halloween on the night of the full moon in New Orleans. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Even the novellas in this series are fascinating. Mysteries, betrayals, solutions; all adding up to a great recipe for exciting reading. Especially when there is a literal deadline involved! In this segment we even have another budding witch & demon romance. Cool!
I love the Shadow Demons series and it is awesome to get a bonus story about one of the girls. Find out what happened to one of Harper's friends after she shut the blue gates.
Meh. Only picked this one up because it was a Halloween story and could be read as a standalone. Based on this novella, the rest of the series seems like a waste of time.
I loved this story. It was too short though! I love the character, Lennie. I would love to hear more about Lenny. Sarra is quickly becoming my favorite author.
Love Sara Cannon's books and this did not disappoint! Will continue to read all the interesting adventures that will come my way reading her series of many books.
This is probably my favorite thing Sarra has written.
This novella follows Allison, one of the other cheerleaders from the Demons squad, as she hides in New Orleans after the destruction of the Peachville coven. Allison's secret will be exposed at midnight on Halloween unless she gets a potion she needs to keep it under wraps. The story follows her race against time with a sexy love interest.
Did I mention this is my favorite thing Sarra has written? I love, love, love that Allison is a normal character for her universe. She's a witch (in a world where witches are more or less normal), but she's not a Chosen One. She's not a Princess. She's just...Allison. That she's being hunted is a sad effect of a war she did not cause.
I like that the love interest isn't - bang - we are in love! with her. While there's definitely an attraction between the characters and they're interested in exploring it further, where they go at the conclusion of the story is left open ended.
And I liked that the story moved at a good pace while developing the leads. I felt like these were real people, despite the fantasy of it all. I loved that I cared how it ended - what became of these people.
Novella well done, Sarra. Will you please write us another installment of this side series?
I love all the demon books even the spin offs! Highly recommend for anyone who likes paranormal books that are fast paced and action packed with a great story
This novella will make more sense if you read the other Demon books first. A deadline is fast approaching as our hero and heroine rush to find the answer! Don't want to run the story for you, so that's all I'm saying. Also, it was so fast paced, I wanted to look at my watch to track how much time they had left!
This was a cute story! It was nice to see what happened to some of the peachville gang! It left me wanting to know more about what comes next for Allison and John! As did Sacrifice Me left me wanting to know more about Franki and Rend !
I enjoyed this book a lot. I didn't want to stop reading. It was good to see that Allison got out of the order, and tried to start a new life away from it. And found a way to get the tattoo off her back.
Different demon, different witch, continuing the battle against the Orders demon gates. From the sounds of it, this will be equally appealing and enjoyable as the Peachville saga stories.
Can I get more of Allison's story PLEASE!!! I loved reading about other characters from Peachville. This is definitely something you should consider writing more of! I own every book in the series and am sad because I'm done!
