While I did like the high school arc ending, I wasn't a big fan of the actual ending chapter where, to absolutely no one's surprise, they get married and promise to grow old together. I get that it's a romance shoujo so obviously it was gonna end like that but idk I'm just tired of seeing it lol.

another amazing read with a lackluster ending ☹️😒 but tbh, not even the ending could make me knock any stars off. you don't know how shocked 15 year old me was when the narrative was CRITICAL of hananoi's possessive behaviour and showed the negative effects it had on both him & hotaru, whilst still maintaining the whimsy we associate with highschool romances...#goated ✌️

A fairly satisfying end, though I’m looking forward to the volume of side stories to tie things up. It looks like her sister really did start dating the manager…and was that a glimpse of him with a baby?

I liked how Saki saw a flash of Hotaru aging as she spoke about being together for their whole lives. And finding out he maintains his looks to beat out any competition 😅

Genii and his wife were unconventional - it’s too bad their son couldn’t understand.

It's over! :( I loved this story so much and the short story of the grandpa was so sad, adding a little tearjerking note to the end. I really enjoyed this and would like to see what the artist will do next.

Yes, it's a romance shoujo so you can guess the end here BUT I honestly thought it was so soft and perfect. I liked how this whole series has been a slice of life day to day and we get a glimpse into a day in the life from their future. It suits so well. I love how Hananoi and Hotaru carry forward their joy and excitement of "firsts" and the author left it open for the reader to fill in those firsts.
The bonus story about Hotaru's grandfather was so beautiful and heartbreaking. I cried.

Seeing the beginning chapter focus a bit on Hotaru’s older sister and Hotaru’s manager: Kuroe go on that date was absolutely precious and I’m so happy that they began dating! Watching Hotaru and Hotaru grow up together and continue to have such a sweet progress in the relationship was absolutely lovely to see! Getting to see into their lives as adults and bits of their wedding was especially exciting and satisfying to see. Additionally, getting to hear about their friends: Keigo and Hibiki getting married, even if it’s only mentioned briefly at several points, was very cute to see since I loved them as a side couple.
Lastly, the bonus chapter focusing solely Hotaru’s grandfather: Ginji was so bittersweet it left my heart aching. I heard there will be more bonus chapters focused on more of the side characters, so I really hope that those get put together into a volume 19.

There is a lot of ground covered here, which can make it a little difficult to follow, but fortunately it is mostly in order aside from imaginative overlays when they think about their futures or something similar. It's almost adorably hilarious how possessive Saki still gets of Hotaru. Can't really call him Hanananoi anymore given they eventually share the same name, though it's still rather adorable and subtle how the change takes place. Though there is talk about moving in together before they start college, it's unclear when this step is taken, which could be interesting, but most likely was deemed small potatoes compared to the rest of their future. We even get some additional information on many other characters and how their stories play out than would necessarily be expected. Overall, it's a well done ending to a series of a decent length - not too short or too long.

Very bland and average ending. We didn’t get that much closure with Saki and Hotaru’s grandfather. The story just briefly touched on that. Our main couple get married and live together. Saki imagines them getting old.

I like that Hotaru’s sister finds love. Hotaru gets closure with Yao. She says she’s happy they got to be friends again even after the incident with their mutual childhood friend prior to this volume. Those were the best parts.

But why does girl still have to ask permission from Saki if she wanna get a man’s number? Or that she feels she has to ask him for permission in the first place?

It’s like yes he expands his circle and finds friends but he’s still kinda controlling toward her.

The manga overall peaked when it got to the childhood friend arc. Where everyone was connected to each other in some way. But then fizzled at the end when Saki breaks up with her, only for them to get back together. I wished more chapters were dedicated to Saki learning about what happened to her grandpa.

It also felt too convenient for Saki to have met a young boy at the bench, who looked like how he looked when he was younger. So Saki became a mentor to a boy similar to how Hotaru’s grandpa was a mentor to him. And that was how their interaction helped him overcome the trauma of Hotaru’s grandpa’s untimely passing, which was the interesting plot line.

This was such a journey and I loved it.
I think it’s such a wonderful story and all of the characters were so lovable.
I wish we would have seen what happened with Yao-kun and the other girl from the bookstore (I can’t remember her name).
