Colton and Amelia’s story is a heartwarming one and more than a little drama filled. After meeting at Wilder and Delilah's wedding and spending the night together, they didn't see each other again until Amelia gets herself a stalker and they moved her in with Colt to hide her and the kids away for her protection. Colt's interactions with these kids and the way they bond as a family is the soul of this story, her family drama keeps everything interesting and the pacing is perfect with the way the reveals roll out along the story arc.
If you've read these stories in order then you’ll enjoy seeing the family members get involved in the story as I did, like visiting with friends.
It was easy reading and very enjoyable.

Ummm I think I have a new favorite Brooke book. I don’t know what it was about this one that just hooked me right from the start. I inhaled this one in under 24 hours.

Colt + Amelia were everything. I loooved how patient and doting Colt was from the start. He is a top tier book boyfriend. Every interaction he had with Sam and Lily turned me into the heart eye emoji. He deserves everything. I loved Amelia and how honest she was. The way they both just said what they meant and how they felt actually was great. They had amazing chemistry, and the spice was.. spicing. Brooke never misses with that.

I loved all the side characters and the somewhat unhinged plot and how it all came together at the end. I could NOT put this one down once I started.

Colton and Amelia have a ons at a wedding and then don’t have any contact for over a year. Because of a stalker situation, Amelia eventually ends up moving in with Colton along with her two children, she had previously worked for his cousin, who helped arrange it. Yeah, but that situation is barely mentioned afterward, so it doesn’t feel emotionally deep at all. Considering how fast everything happens, it almost feels like it was only included because the story needed it, not because it was really explored. Amelia has a pretty rough history when it comes to relationships…neither of her children’s fathers are part of their lives. Because of that, she doesn’t really see a future with Colton, until she suddenly does. From day one, Colton is there for her and her kids, and with them moving in, he finally sees his chance to win her over. What I liked was that, despite the time apart, they never forgot each other and didn’t get involved with anyone else. There are moments where insecurities are mentioned, but then things just suddenly are the way they are without much development. The plot felt very random and lacked real tension, even though some elements came unexpectedly. It didn’t feel like anything was properly built up,it just sort of…happened. Even **(minor spoiler)** the pregnancy was introduced in the same abrupt way. It was sweet at times, but without any real depth or tension.

Take My Kiss is book 3 in the Willow Branch Mountain series, it can read entirely fine as a standalone, but for a deeper understanding of family dynamics reading in order definitely enhances the experience. I absolutely love returning to Willow Branch, this small town is a little treat. The people inside it even more. I always love revisiting all the characters from previous books and series as they make appearances. I was hooked right from the start, since the ending of the previous book I was waiting for Colton's story, I knew he would be swoony, but never this swoony. The man deserves an award! The added suspense Brooke sprinkled in this one was so good, it kept me hooked and intrigued, truly catching me off guard with the twists.

Colton is a dream. He is so perfect. The way he cared, cherished and worshipped Amelia was absolutely beautiful. He was patient, respectful of her boundaries and let her come to him when she was ready. He cared for her 2 children as if they were his own, that right there is a true man. All the acts of service he does made my heart melt. Amelia was such a fierce FMC, so strong, resilient and the best mom to her babies. The connection between Colton & Amelia was fire, they had so much chemistry, fun banter but also so much trust between each other. After that bonus epilogue I cannot wait for the next book!

Overall, this was another fantastic installment in this series. Colton, Amelia & the kids truly won my heart.

🎧 The narration by Aaron Shedlock & Meg Sylvan was so good. Loved them together, their voices just fit perfectly. They really played the characters so well, bringing out all the emotions and the flirty banter in their performances. They also played the kids very well which I always enjoy.

Brooke has done it again. These Willow Branch Mountain men are something special. The whole family is!
Supportive, protective, patient, and loving to no end!

Colt and Amelia are explosive from night one! I loved how we caught a glimpse of their night in book 2 but jump right in to seeing how it all unfolded. They make you believe in love at first sight. I devoured their story in less than 24 hours. I just couldn’t put it down. Colt Langston is a man obsessed, from just seeing her across the room… add in a one night stand - where she’s gone the next day, and he’s toast. Pierced, tattoos, successfully runs his family’s resort, and lives in a “tree house.” He’s perpetually single because he longs for commitment and connection. When he hears that Amelia and her 2 kids are in danger this man jumps into action is the absolute sweetest way. He’s a total goner for them all! He’s not the only one, even his dog is gone for their new house guests. Amelia, this sweet girl has not had it easy. Her life has unraveled from every direction and when she discovers someone is after her she’s forced back into the home, and arms, of the one man she’s been trying to forget.

The suspense/subplot in this one totally got me! Like whoa, I did not see that coming!! My jaw hit the floor in such a way I just stared off into space going “you’ve got to be kidding me!”

I swooned over Colt every time he was with them. He is complete book husband goals! Like greenest green flag! Everything about this book was precious and when their thread finally snaps, holy chemistry!

Colt is literally a dream. Like… this man just wants a family and the way he shows up for Amelia and her kids?? I was gone. 😭

From the second she ends up at his house, he’s taking care of her, helping with the kids, cooking, checking in, but never pushing her. Especially when it comes to her kids. He’s so respectful of her boundaries and it was honestly just really nice to see. 🥹

Also the fact that they had a one night stand at his cousin’s wedding a year ago and he fell that hard… only to wake up and realize she ghosted him?? I’m sorry that took me out 😂 This man has been down bad from the very beginning 😭

And even his dog Remy loves Amelia and the kids like please.

Colt bringing her dinner while she’s in class hit me right in the heart because it reminded me so much of when I was finishing my degree and my husband would do the same thing 🥹

And LILY?? When she asked Colt if he was her dad and he said
“No, I’m not sweetie. But I’d be the luckiest person in the world if I were.”

HELLO??? I was done. GONE.

Amelia’s been through a lot, and you can tell it really affects how she handles relationships. It made sense why she kept her guard up, even when Colt was… literally Colt.

And he never stops showing up for her. Just steady, patient, all in.

The spice was also 🥵 but it didn’t take away from the emotional side at all.

AND THAT PLOT TWIST?? I did not see that coming at all.

Overall this was just a really sweet, emotional small-town romance with a protective cowboy who is basically everything. ❤️

Ugh this book!! OMG I love Colton and Amelia so much! This man falls for her pretty much at first sight and never gets over her 😍 While Amelia thinks nothing can really happen between them she can’t deny her feelings and I loved seeing her finally stop resisting! 🥵 Once she does and it gets spicy!! 🥵🔥 The mouth on this man, and he is pierced! Amelia is an amazing mom, resistant to Colton’s help but he helps her anyways no questions asked from day one and it’s so freaking sweet 🥹 I loved how quick he took to the kids! This man wants nothing more than for her and the kids to be taken care of if every way he can. I love the suspense elements Brooke puts in her books. They keep you on the edge of your seat to see what the heck is going to happen!

This entire series so far has been absolutely AMAZING, which is not surprising as I’ve loved every book of hers I’ve read! Cannot wait for the twins books!!

Can I just say that I loved the love-at-first sight that Colt felt? Can I just say how much I love his cinnamon roll ways? The first 60% or so of this book will literally fly by, it's just so good and flows so well and how the intrigue has you riveted, turning those pages so fast. Brooke is a wonderful storyteller and the way she's crafted the world and family of not just the Willow Branch Mountain series but the series before is incredible, and to "see" old faces in each story is amazing. This story for me was sweet and heart wrenching in a way that we can all relate to, and the fear most of us have had about when to trust - to just let go and blindly let yourself fall... it was really something. I was so glad they got their HEA and cannot wait for book #4!

this story was absolutely full of sweet heat + tenderhearted moments between our main characters, the kids, + the family that surrounds them. after reading book #2 in this series, i was excited to read book 3, and i was not disappointed!

Colton Langston is down bad for Amelia from before they even meet. What better place to meet the love of your life that at a wedding? Colt charms his way into spending the whole wedding reception with Amelia, and then convinces her to spend the night with him, too. They have chemistry, but Amelia is more interested in raising her two kiddos and establishing a life for herself (aka she doesn't trust her judgment when it comes to men, which is fair with her track record). She's convinced they'll never see each other again... until she gets herself a stalker + finds herself being sent to Colt's family's ranch for protection while they find out who is terrorizing her family. And, as they say, was the start of their happily ever after.

THE AUDIOBOOK: Performed in dual narration by Meg Sylvan and Aaron Shedlock, I was so into this story + listened to it so quickly! There were a lot of fun elements to this story that were absolutely brought to life in audio. The chemistry between our two main characters played a starring role, but there was also this instant-family feeling between Colt and Amelia and her children. There was adventure, tension, suspense, sweet moments, funny moments... it was the perfect book to consume via audio! Out now!

Take My Kiss is a single mom, forced proximity, small town romance that brings the heat and brings the heart. I love these characters so much. Colton really does have such a big heart and Amelia is so sweet. This connection was just effortless. The way these two main characters, Amelia and Colton protect the ones the Cara about is what really makes the story fierce. I absolutely love this book.

I can’t wait for more from Brooke Montgomery. I am highly intrigued by Maddox and hope he has a book! The twins in this series are also intriguing that I have questions. This book, I think, would be great for anyone!

The bit of suspense kept me turning the page and I definitely didn’t anticipate the twist toward the end. Colt and Amelia’s story was an overall great read.

Unfortunately this book missed the mark for me. I think some of it is my mood and not feeling this book and the other part just feeling like the things that happen in this book being so rushed and seeming completely random at times.

I was really looking forward to this book because I have loved all of the books in this series and I love a good single parent trope, but this one just didn’t do it for me.

Colt and Amelia have a one night stand after meeting at his cousin’s wedding. They later meet again when she and her two kids are unexpectedly forced to move in with him at his family‘s ranch after realizing that they are being stalked. Although the chemistry that they shared during their one night is still very much there, Amelia is determined to keep her distance from Colt due to her past.

This was such a sweet yet suspenseful single mom romance! The forced proximity in this was everything! I loved Amelia and her kids, and all of the ways that Colton showed up for them. He loved them so fiercely and was willing to do anything he could to prove to Amelia that he was completely all in. He really is the definition of a man down bad. I also love love LOVE a protective MMC, especially in a romantic suspense. Colt was SO protective and sweet!

I felt very luke warm about the romance and skipped the spice altogether.

I was absolutely obsessed with this book and the chemistry and perfection between Amelia and Colton.
What starts as a fun, flirty, chemistry-filled one night stand at a wedding where she sneaks out, turns into something so much deeper when life throws them back together and forces them under the same roof. Watching her try to play it off like she doesn’t remember, "I'm glad she did, or I would've almost bought that little act of yours in there. Pretendin' you didn't remember his name or meetin' him. You're evil!" while he very much does and is more than willing to remind her was equal parts hilarious and so full of tension.
But what really made this story stand out wasn’t just the steam and yes the cowboy delivers, "Don't worry, darlin'. I gotchu." He winks, then places the cowboy hat back on my head. "Now ride me like a good cowgirl." it was the heart. Seeing him step into her world, care for her kids, and quietly build something steady and safe around them? That’s the kind of romance that sneaks up on you. It’s not just about the spark, you could feel that instantly, it’s about realizing that what felt like a mistake might actually be exactly where you’re meant to be.
By the end, it wasn’t about remembering that one night, it was about her finally seeing that she belonged there all along, her and her two kids. "I know you won't. That's why I called you Dad, even if you aren't my real one, you'll protect me like Dads are supposed to."
Sexy, swoony, and surprisingly emotional, this one is a must-read if you love a protective cowboy, forced proximity, and a “this was never supposed to be forever” turning into exactly that!

I really really loved Colt (who wouldn’t?), but wasn’t into the whole brothers death was faked by crazy mom to steal inheritance from her children story line. It almost felt like the Amelia’s “stalker” part of the plot was changed halfway through the book was written to be something different and much less realistic. I love Brooke and I love her writing but this book truly didn’t do it for me in the way I’d hoped it would😔 on the other hand, Colton’s piercings and tattoos DEFINITELY did it for me (are we surprised? Not one bit lol)

Let me first say, If you are new to this series, have no fear, each book can be read as a standalone. But, be prepared for the urge to go back and marathon this series in its entirety after finishing this book! These characters and their storylines are addicting and, in all honesty, I think Take My Kiss may just be my new favorite!! Okay, there are no ifs and or buts about it. Colton and Amelia’s story is my new favorite within this series!!! So let’s dive into what this book is all about and then I’ll share my views and opinions.

Take My Kiss is the third book in the Willow Branch Series by Brooke Montgomery. Now it’s time for Colton ‘Colt’ Langston to find his happily ever after. Colt never expected to find his heart at his brother’s wedding only to walk up the next morning alone with no note or no letter of explanation. With a crushed heart, Colt finds it hard getting over this one. But you know what they say, when a soul finds its mate, there is no going back. That’s why almost a year later, Colt is shocked to hear he’ll be having a few houseguests until the stalker that has been following them has been caught. Now, Colt has his second chance, and he’ll do everything to show Amelia that he isn’t like the other guys that came and went in her life. He can be trusted and depended on. He’s about to have the fight of his life.

Amelia’s life revolves around a series of hit and runs. With tragedy awaiting every turn. No wonder this woman has a barrier around her heart a mile wide. Almost a year ago, she decided to throw caution in the wind and live free for herself, if only for one night. But now, she still can’t get Colton Langston out of her head and away from her memories. So when the next wave of trouble hits her and threatens her son, she has no choice but to take Wilder’s advice and hide out a few hours away. But what Wilder and Delilah haven’t mentioned is that she and her two children will be staying with the very man that runs around in her dreams. How will Amelia tell her heart it can’t have what it wants…. She is also in for the fight of her life!

My Thoughts:

Oh my holy high heavens! Brooke Montgomery always amazes me with her storytelling abilities and the depth and emotion she puts into her novels, but Take My Kiss is next level! I adored every moment Colt and Amelia’s story had to offer! I am still sitting here swooning over Colt and his endearing heart when it comes to Amelia’s two young children, Sam and Lily. My heart damn near melted the more the bond formed between these four characters. The strong family unit had me feeling all the feels! Brooke Montgomery is queen when it comes to strong family connections!

Now let’s dive into the main characters and what I liked about them. I’m going to take a different route and start with Amelia Calhoun. I loved the many facets that made up Amelia’s character. Let's start with the fact that this woman has the strength of a warrior for all she’s been through. But that strength and those hands she was dealt with didn’t fully harden her. And here comes the second reason why I loved and respected her character. After everything she went through, she never let her past stand in the way of being the best mother she could be to her son and to her daughter. There was never a moment that I scratched my head and questioned her parenting. I absolutely adored her mothering ways and Brooke Montgomery showed with perfect precision the many emotions that come with parenting. I also really enjoyed watching her slowly drop down that metaphorical shield she put around her heart, and let Colton in. My heart was overjoyed with watching Amelia find her happily ever after.

And then we have Colton ‘Colt’ Langston. I loved the fact that Colt stepped up to the plate, he didn’t have to step up to, and be the man that Amelia needed in her life. He showed his heart from the start of this novel all the way to the end. I loved his sweetheart ways. Southern hospitality is no joke, this man had me swooning from the very start!! The song by Brad Paisley ‘He Didn’t Have To Be’ comes to mind when I think of the way Colt was with her kids. He morphed effortlessly into a parental role without even trying… and that’s all I’m going to say on Colt. He’s my favorite hero so far!

Lets not forget to mention Sam and Lily! Sam is eight and Lily is three so your assumptions are correct these two bring an adorable air to this novel! I loved their energy and how they were put center stage in this novel. Amelia’s world revolves around her kids and it showed! I loved the connection that grew between not only Sam and Colton but also Lily and Colton. And I adored watching their interactions! My heart literally felt light and happy throughout this whole novel, even during the moments that were a tad bit dark, my heart still felt happy because I knew these two could rise above anything thrown at them! And herein lies the main reasoning behind why I gave this novel a full five star rating. The amount of emotion I felt throughout this novel was undeniable! I was flooded with all the feels! This novel was exactly what I needed at this moment of my life!

Now for the spicy details. If you like your novels a bit more spicy in the kink spectrum, I can guarantee you’ll love this one! I’m usually not a fan of slow burn romance novels but the sexy time tension with this slow burn was on point and the spice was extra spicy! I loved the feisty vibes that came out of Amelia during these moments! These two were made for each other in all aspects!

Overall, I loved every single moment Take My Kiss had to offer! If you love single mom romances with a forced proximity element, slight slow burn, and two adorable kiddos that will have you saying AWE out loud in random places while reading, this book may be for you!
