He’s handsome and broody—the kind of quiet that makes you wonder what’s going on under the surface.
I’m the new rookie at the station—and the only woman firefighter in the history of Waterford Fire. every move I make is being measured, and quietly evaluated. No pressure. Not to mention the pranks these guys pull.
The only thing on my mind besides proving myself at work is a daughter who thinks baseball is a personality trait. Oh! And, my mom just decided she’s moving in with us.
Romance is not on the schedule. Neither are complications.
Am I distracted by Greyson’s quiet competence or the way he shows up when it matters? Nope.
I’m definitely not intrigued by the hints of softness beneath that military-grade self-control. And I am absolutely not interested in a man who keeps his past locked up tighter than a firehouse locker.
I have enough mysteries in my life. I don’t need one with broad shoulders, a turnout coat, and perceptive eyes that seem to look straight into my soul.
We both have baggage. Mine comes with a lunchbox and a bedtime routine.
But I’ve got a keep my head down, do my job, protect my heart.
Check, check and … well, two out of three’s not bad.
Frost and Flame is the fourth standalone romcom in the Firemen of Waterford TN series. This story is a closed-door romance with kisses that just might need a fire extinguisher.
“Being alone with Hallie today has overwhelmed me, and I’m not a man who is easily overwhelmed.”
The books in this series just keep getting better and better! I loved Hallie and Greyson so, so much!! These two cuties met 9 years ago in Munich as Greyson was deploying for the army. Now, all these years later, Hallie has been hired as the newest firefighter at the small town fire station Greyson works at. While he instantly recognizes Hallie, it takes her a little more time to realize who he is. Now, a single mom in a new town, her life is more complicated than it was so many years ago…
This book hooked me right in and kept me smiling and turning pages every chance I got! Greyson was the grouchiest, yet sweetest guy and I loved how sweet and tender he was with Hallie, Mia, and the girls he coached! Hallie was adorable! I loved that she was a firefighter and quickly fit in among her new crew! Her mom and sister were a hoot and I loved their contributions to the story!! Such a cute, cute book!!
Favorite quotes:
“My feelings for Ace were magical and instant. The moment I met him—saw him standing across the lawn, staring up at the cathedral with a look of awe in his eyes—I felt safe and curious. But it didn’t take long for his charm and looks to capture my attention.”
“My life doesn’t have room for any complications. And even if it did, the idea of me and Greyson is ridiculous.” “What a shame.” The pout in her voice makes me giggle. Avery presses on. “He’s got that whole I’ll throw you over my shoulder and save you from a fire thing going for him.”
“Hallie. If we go through conflict or seasons of distance … or times when we disappoint one another, we’ll just hang on.” Her brows draw in. “Because that’s what you do when someone matters,” I assure her. “You hang on.”
Frost and Flame is Book 4 in the Firemen of Waterford TN series and whew, is it a sizzling sweet closed door romcom story.
Greyson and Hallie have a bit of a past and now working in the same small town firestation, the embers are ready to spark again. I love how their past emerges through a series of occasional flashbacks. And I especially adore the fact that Hallie is the first female firefighter at the station and immediately earns their trust and respect.
As a single mom, Hallie balances life really well and I couldn’t get enough of her precocious little Mia, who is seven going on 30. She’s had to prove herself time and time again, and her resilience, compassion, and strength shines through in everything she does. Greyson is so stoic, and while he’s a man of few words, he’s very deep and has a tender and caring strip to him that's so wide.
The humor, depth, and swoon found within these pages are pure gold. I wasn’t expecting this vulnerable second chance romance that ends the series to touch me as much as it did.
Savannah Scott is an expert at creating community, dimension, and flames in her beautiful stories.

Oh. My. Word. You guys!! Frost and Flame, the final book in The Firemen of Waterford TN series by Savannah Scott is out now, and it is everything you could have hoped for! I have been looking forward to quiet, stoic Greyson to get his story and happily ever after, and oh boy, did he ever!!
I am not normally one for a single parent story, I often struggle with them, but this story touched my heart in so many ways! Hallie being a single mom to Mia brings a lot to the story, and Mia… wow, she likes to steal the show sometimes!
Greyson and Hallie, oh boy, do they have a story to share. Their journey is filled with so much heart, grief, healing, pining, and such deep love, not to mention, quite the unexpected plot twist. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, but to truly appreciate how deep and quiet Greyson is, reading the other books in the series adds a fun dimension.
Just to give a little glimpse at the quiet, yet tender man that he is, here’s this sweet little bit. “Words come to mind—things I could say to her about how strong she is and how much I admire her, what a good mom she is, how lucky Mia is to have her. But I don’t say any of that. I just stand and reheat the cocoa.”
Yes, that quiet definitely keeps Hallie curious about what he really thinks about her, but she is so busy trying to succeed in her career and being the mom her daughter needs that she continues to put her heart in lockdown. Until the moment she just can’t anymore, thanks in part to her meddling mama and precious daughter.
Grab your copy and a nice hot beverage today. Dive into this sweet small town, he falls first-and HARD- romance today. Yes, it also has a nice helping of comedy, too, so be prepared for all the feels!

FROST and flame (Fireman of Waterford TN Series, Book 4) by: Savannah Scott @savannahscott_author
••I give 4.5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
~He’s handsome and broody-the kind of quiet that makes you wonder what’s going on under the surface. Romance is not on the schedule. Neither are complications…
-FROST and flame my friends, is the delightful fourth, and final story in the Firemen of Waterford IN series. This delightful grimy-sunshine story is blended wonderfully with the right amount of both humor and heart. This second chance story surprised me in unexpected ways and yet, it was the right fit of a story in wrapping up such an awesome series, which I do suggest reading in order for complete satisfaction. I enjoyed the layers of depth underneath the lightheartedness. It made this story and characters feel more real, relatable, approachable, and the romance along the way more earned and satisfying. The tender moments, the brief but insightful flashbacks to the past encounters together were both swoony, heartfelt, and enlightening. What I loved most about this story my friends, was watching dear characters balance what life throws their way in between making room for what matters, even with some hesitancy. Seeing how love is in the details and makes all the difference when doubts or insecurities trickle in. Seeing what brings complete happiness to these characters had my heart! I couldn’t help but cheer for their own happily there after and for them to hold on to the opportunity of what was right in front of themselves. Add in the small town vibes, working together, and much more was sweet bonuses to the charm within. Worth the slow yet satisfying romance journey for sure. This cute story is one to not miss!🙌🏻📚🔥
•Content: some heartache-loss of a friend (in past), divorce (in past); some personal character insecurities, no language, no violence, mild moment of peril, kisses only!
-I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
I loved this one so much!! Hallie and Greyson were adorable and I truly love a grumpy/sunshine romance. I giggled, I smiled, I said awwwww!! So great!
Hallie and Greyson were so cute! I loved seeing their shared history come to light in flash backs. They started off tiptoeing around each other, sharing quick glances and some flirty quips. Then they grew into this sweet, romantic, relationship! I loved the progression of their relationship and all the fun stuff they go through as they are navigating their budding romance. I really loved how Greyson was protective of Hallie but it a way that didn't make her feel belittled but instead built her up. They really understood each other so well. Hallie found her safe place in Greyson but also Waterford.
I love a good small town and Scott really knows how to write the best ones! The side characters are always so fun and hilarious. And seeing past characters, like Dustin who is a riot LOL, is so great! The interrupted poker game had me laughing so much! And I loved the little league team. Scott definitely described that so well! I was giggling so much, especially during their first game! And Hallie's family was the best, her daughter was fun and spunky, her mom hilarious, and her sister Avery was sarcastic and there for Hallie. I love how much Scott's writing makes me giggle but is also so relatable and sweet.
Frost and Flame was everything I wanted in a sweet, closed-door small-town romcom: heartfelt, swoony, funny, and full of that found-family firehouse charm Savannah Scott does so well.
Greyson and Hallie’s story had such a tender pull from the very beginning. He’s quiet, steady, protective, and carrying more beneath the surface than he lets on, while Hallie is strong, determined, and trying to prove herself as the newest firefighter in Waterford…and the only woman at the station. I loved watching her step into that role with grit and heart, all while balancing motherhood, family, and the walls she’s built around her own heart.
Their chemistry is the perfect mix of slow-burn tension, emotional depth, and soft little moments that made me absolutely melt. Greyson may be a man of few words, but his actions speak so loudly, and the way he shows up for Hallie and Mia was one of my favorite parts of the book.
Speaking of Mia…she completely stole my heart. Her personality, humor, and sweetness added so much warmth to the story. I also loved the firehouse crew, the small-town community, and the way this book balances humor with healing, vulnerability, and second chances.
This one has all the best vibes: single mom romance, firefighter romance, he falls first, quiet hero, found family, emotional healing, laugh-out-loud moments, and kisses that definitely bring the heat while still keeping things closed door.
Savannah Scott created such a beautiful ending to this series. Frost and Flame is sweet, swoony, and full of heart…the kind of book that leaves you smiling long after you finish. Highly recommend for anyone who loves clean romcoms with depth, warmth, and plenty of sparks.
I think I’ve realized something about myself…I hate unnecessary secrecy in books. It drives me up a wall and makes it hard for me to root for the characters in question. I think that’s what made this book hard for me - I feel like the secrecy wasn’t needed and I struggled to get through the middle of the book. That being said, I did like the ending much more than the rest of the book!
Frost and Flame Book 4: Firefighters of Waterford Tennessee
Love Love Love!!
I was not so patiently waiting for Greyson’s story and I was so so sweetly rewarded. This seemingly broody grumpy man in our peripheral for the last three books is just …I don’t even have words.
I’m generally not a big fan of second chance romance but this isn’t a relationship gone bad trope and that’s all I’ll say because hearing their past story is part what makes this story so lovely and what their history has meant for both of them and the impact it had on their lives is just beautiful. “Hallie’s obviously lived a lot in the nine years since we first met. But that girl still lives and breathes within this woman” There is a lot of raw heart moments and of course it’s perfectly balanced with some really funny comedic relief (I’m looking at you Dustin)
Hallie’s family are absolutely darling especially her daughter Mia who is so precious and her relationship with Greyson will just touch your heart. “He’s usually so dour and somber. Something about my daughter unleashes this side to him that I don’t quite know what to do with” Hallie’s mom is a bit much in the beginning but she grows on you and I’m really hoping her sister Avery gets her own story in Scott’s next series, her relationship with Hallie reminded me of mine with my older sister and I loved it!
Overall this was a precious story with wonderful very real characters, sizzling chemistry (aka stolen moments in the firehouse) absolutely beautiful tender moments and plenty to make you smile and laugh. This might just be my new favourite Savannah Scott Rom-Com. Definitely one I’ll be rereading!!
I received an advance review copy. All opinions are my own.
I am so excited to be back in Waterford! This is the 4th installment in the Firemen of Waterford TN series. It can definitely be read as a standalone and can be read in any order, but I would recommend reading in order because some of the characters overlap in each book.
Single mom, Hallie is the new rookie and the first woman firefighter at the Waterford fire station. She is determined to prove herself at work and to be the best mom to her baseball loving daughter. Greyson comes across as grumpy, but deep down he is serious, quiet and doesn’t open up much. Until he is with his girls baseball team. They both have baggage and a history…
I loved how Hallie brings out the softer side of Greyson! The flashbacks from their first meeting had me rooting for them from the very beginning. They both had to work through some real grief and healing. Hallie is such a great mom to Mia. She always puts her daughter first. There are so many laugh out loud moments blended with the perfect amount of raw tender moments. The senior citizens of Waterford are an absolute hoot! Loved the Sparkly Llamacorns and all their glitter!
If you love firefighters, single parent, grumpy/sunshine, and a whole lot of heart, humor and love, then don’t miss this one! I highly recommend this whole series!
Thank you to the author for the copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Frost and Flame was the absolute perfect way to end "The Firemen of Waterford TN"! I've now finished all four books within this series and they just kept getting better and better. I must say though, Frost and Flame was my favorite amongst the series. Watching Greyson and Hallie's dynamic with each other was the greatest thing. Given their past, and knowing how they came to reconnect with each other was already heart warming. But seeing Greyson with Hallie's daughter absolutely sweetened the deal for me! I also loved the subtle touches throughout the book, and series in general, mentioning updates on the characters from the previous 3 books as well so we can also keep up with the rest of the crew!
Tropes include: Firefighter Romance Workplace Romance Single Parent Closed-door romcom Grumpy Sunshine Small Town
Thank you to Savannah Scott for a copy of this book!
This story was so so good! I have loved every single book in The Fireman of Waterford, TN series but I think this one has now stolen the place as my favorite. Greyson and Hallie are truly something special.
This book opened up so cute with Hallie and her young daughter Mia’s move into the small town of Waterford, TN. I was pulled into the story immediately and I couldn’t wait to learn more about Hallie and spend some more time with the firemen I know and have grown to love from the past three books. Greyson gets his first glimpse of Hallie when she goes into town to pick up pizzas for dinner on moving day. There was a little more to the story of his first glance that was beautiful and fun to find out as the story moves along.
Hallie was such a great character. Not only is she a single mom, but she is the first female firefighter in Waterford. I enjoyed how she fit right in with the guys and quickly became a part of their family. Greyson was relatable to me as someone who likes his solitude. He is so patient, tender, and thoughtful. I enjoyed him as a MMC very much. Like I said before there was a very special quality to this story. It pulled at my heartstrings as I watched Hallie make sacrifices for her daughter, but it also made my sigh with happiness. Savannah Scott captured all the sweetness of falling in love and kind of brought me back to the early days of dating my husband. Hallie and Greyson’s romance was very beautiful. She blends that perfectly with the laugh out loud humor she does so well. Dustin, one of Hallie and Greyson’s coworkers, is such a hoot and had me giggling. Hallie’s family was really great too. Her mom was fun and I loved the relationship she had with her supportive sister. Mia was super cute and spunky and the dog, Henry Cavil, aka Daddy, was just the best.
There was really so much to love about this story. I highly recommend it! You do not need to have read the other books first, but I know you will want to read them all!

I have loved getting to know the firefighters of Waterford, Tennessee. It has been so fun getting to know Grayson better through this story.
Grayson is the silent, broody type. He doesn't say much, but when he does talk you know you had better listen. I loved getting to know his background and his personality better.
Hallie is a single mom, who loves her daughter and wants to make the best life for her that she can. I love how bright and positive her personality is.
This grumpy-sunshine romance made me laugh, but also has some very touching, deep emotional moments.
This is the 4th book in the Firemen of Waterford TN. It can be read as a stand-alone.
Thanks to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
Humor and heart. That is the best way to describe the style of Savannah Scott's stories. There are so many laugh out loud moments, so many characters that show up in many books, and so much depth in them- you can't help but fall in love with the entire town.
Greyson is the frost in the title. He comes across as grumpy, but is a giant teddy bear at heart. He doesn't always show it, however. That is, until he is playing Coach G to his 7-8 yr old softball team, or helping the local senior citizens out.
"I don't waste words. Why use twenty when four will get the job done?"
"I'm not grumpy. I'm selectively enthusiastic."
Hallie is the first and only female firefighter in Waterford. This brings a lot of proving herself, scrutiny, and of course pranks that are a right of passage for all rookies. She keeps the fact that she has a daughter to herself; she doesn't want to be accepted by pity, she wants to earn their respect. And earn it she does.
"We both have baggage. Mine comes with a lunchbox and a bedtime routine."
I loved the dual timeline flashbacks as they had met 9 years earlier in another country. Their time was brief but impactful. He was leaving for Afghanistan, she was going to be heading to medical school. Then- that was it. The one night made a deep connection, then it was over.
“Hallie’s obviously lived a lot in the nine years since we first met. But that girl still lives and breathes within this woman”
Their story is slow burn, patient, honest, and heart warming- truly one of the best because if felt so real. So raw. There are also tender moments of remembering loved ones lost, hurt over an ex-husband and the way he's treated them, with a mom of a close friend, with a sister, and a mother daughter bond.
There are also laugh out loud situations with senior citizens (you'll know it when you read it!), a spunky young daughter, neighbors, and a somewhat mid-life crisis mom. And don't forget the Sparkly Llamacorns, full of glitter and giggles, they bring out the happy in Greyson.
I'm such a fan of the series and the author. It is not just another 'hot fireman' book, it is a story about real people with real struggles coming together and working through things as they come up.
Thanks to the author for the advanced copy of the book to enjoy.
Frost and Flame may be my favorite Savannah Scott book yet. I probably say that about all her books, but this is second chance, single mom, grumpy/sunshine perfection! I completely fell in love with Greyson’s & Hallie’s story & all the yearning & hope that went along with it.
Greyson Stone is aptly named. He’s everyone’s rock, quietly serving behind the scenes not only his fellow firefighters, but the widowed mother of his best friend, & the coach of a little league girl’s baseball team. Though he’s grumpy & broody, he totally fits the phrase “still waters run deep.” I absolutely loved the way he treated Hallie from their first encounter in Munich to their reacquaintance as firefighter colleagues. It’s been nine years since he’s seen her & a lot’s happened, but he patiently waits for the opportunity for her to come to him on her own terms. I enjoyed getting a peak inside this guy’s brain. His selflessness is almost his undoing, but I loved the way he opens up just for Hallie & Mia. He’s maximum cuteness when he’s coaching & holds a soft spot in my heart.
Hallie’s bubbly, fun, the sunshine to Greyson’s grumpy, & a kindred spirit when it comes to chocolate. Despite all she’s been through as a single mom raising her daughter with little help from her ex, she’s a strong, vibrant woman who’s grace under pressure. Even though she’s the only female firefighter, I loved how she easily fits in with the guys, & welcomed their teasing & pranks to show she’s one of them. I loved the way she put Mia first in everything she did & was reluctant to date even though she’s drawn to Greyson. But once she recognized him, all bets were off. Their swoon-worthy secret meetings & all the longing… so good! I loved the rain scene (hello tame PG version of the Notebook), & seeing Greyson light up whenever she’s around.
Along with the swoony romance, is the delightful humor this author’s known for. I died laughing at the team name, pie throwing, her mother, & who can forget Daddy, i.e. Henry Cavill! There’s so much hilarity along with the heartfelt.
Highly recommend this delightful ending to a favorite series! Though it could be read as a standalone, it’s more enjoyable if you’ve read the previous books. I received an advanced copy but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.
"Life isn't what we plan it to be. A real man knows that and steps up to whatever cards he's dealt." I hold Hallie's gaze. "...You're a winning hand."
"I want you, Hallie. However much you have to give. That's what I want."
This was a sweet conclusion to the Fireman of Waterford series, finally giving us Greyson's story. I admit it wasn't what I expected - he's such a strong, brooding character that I was expecting this slow burn of chemistry and tension as he and Hallie get to know each other. Instead, this was a second chance romance where they had met years before and she was the girl that got away, now a single mom, and they began opening up to each other rather quickly but kept it quiet.
I really enjoyed getting to know Greyson better, the depths underneath his quiet, his slow recognizing of how much he means to everyone and how much they mean to him, and his patient and steady pursuit of Hallie. She was a great character and addition to the team, with an adorable daughter Mia and a (mostly) fun family dynamic. 😂 Her mom came on a little too strong for me but I always struggle with a lack of boundaries - but she was respectful of them when it mattered and constantly showed up for Hallie and Mia.
This was a very sweet second chance romance. I appreciated the characters honesty with each other and how Greyson understood the reality of pursuing a single mom, always considering what was best for Mia and never pushing but not backing down either. I did think the conflict at the end was 100% unnecessary and could've simply been a conversation, especially as it resolved with a conversation by the end, but oh well. Still a delightful conclusion.
The final book about the Firefighters of Waterford TN is here! This was adorable romcom that I flew through it. Hallie was such a fun character! She felt very real, struggling with the many changes in her life and balancing her role as a mother and her new job as a firefighter. I admired her strength and continued perseverance. Hallie was upbeat and warm, but very determined. I loved her family relationships too! She was an amazing mom and Mia was hilarious! I loved her energy and some of her quirky lines! It was also pretty hilarious to see how her mom and sister interacted with her. They definitely felt like a family, both full of love and care, but also full of teasing and embarrassing each other. I adored Grayson! He was reserved and serious, but so devoted to those he cared about. Grayson was thoughtful and caring, but also very private. I loved seeing how he cared for the people around him and the little league! That was one of my favorite parts, I loved the team and their antics. I loved seeing Grayson and Hallie reconnect! They had history, but also new responsibilities and were in a different place in life. They were so sweet together, pushing each other and supporting one another. I loved seeing how they opened up with each other. Hallie definitely brought out a different side of Grayson and it was so fun to see! Both Grayson and Halie had to decide what they wanted for their future and what they were willing to risk for it It was so cool to be back in Waterford and I loved seeing every one again! This is a sweet romcom with only kisses and the past death of a loved one that impacts the characters. I received an ARC.
Simply put, this series truly is one of Savannah Scott's very best... I've loved every single book in this series, and this one was certainly no exception! I mean, a grumpy firefighter MMC, a single mom to a sassy, baseball loving girl and some great second chance vibes... what could be better than that? Seriously, I just adored Greyson and Hallie. Greyson comes across as a grump; he's serious and doesn't say or open up much, so I really loved getting to know him better... and seeing Hallie bring out that softer side of him too! These two had such an amazing chemistry... and some unexpected history between them as well. Those flashbacks to their prior meeting had me rooting for these two to have a real chance at a happily ever after that they didn't get before. As is always true for a Savannah Scott book, this one brought the perfect blend of heart and humor... there were moments that had me laughing out loud (there's a moment with some local senior citizens that I certainly won't be forgetting anytime soon!), as well as those more tender moments that will only make you love these characters all that much more. This was another great addition to this series, and one that fans of firefighter romances are sure to want to check out.
Frost and Flame is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the fourth book in The Firemen of Waterford TN series but could absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
This was such a sweet and satisfying conclusion to the Firemen of Waterford series, and I’m honestly a little emotional saying goodbye to this small-town crew!
Hallie and Grayson completely stole my heart. I went in expecting a slow-burn, tension-filled romance, but what I got was a tender second-chance story that felt just as meaningful—maybe even more so. Their history, the quiet way they reconnect, and the emotional vulnerability between them made this feel so real and grounded. I loved getting to go back in time and get a look at the history in Munich!
Grayson is the ultimate “strong, silent” type, but I really liked watching his softer side come out—especially in the way he shows up for Hallie and her daughter. And Hallie? She’s strong, determined, and juggling so much, and I loved how her character balanced independence with learning to let someone in.
The small-town charm, the firehouse dynamics, the found-family vibes—it all just works so well. And Mia (Hallie’s daughter) added such a sweet layer to the story.
If I had one tiny critique, it’s that the conflict near the end felt a little unnecessary—but honestly, it didn’t take away from how much I loved the journey or the ending.
💛 Closed-door romance 💛 Second chance 💛 Single mom rep 💛 Grumpy/silent hero 💛 Small-town, found family vibes
Overall, this was soft, heartfelt, and such a lovely wrap-up to the series. If you love wholesome romances with depth, this one is absolutely worth picking up.
* I received a free ARC copy to review. All opinions are my own.*
I'm absolutely swooning over this story—Hallie and Grayson (and the whole town of Waterford) are pure magic.
The newest rookie in the Waterford Fire Department is a woman. Hallie is determined to become “one of the guys” as quickly as possible. This means lifting HEAVY in team workouts, willingly accepting being pranked, and not telling them she's a single mom.
Greyson is a grumpy firefighter of few words, until he's presenting at the elementary school or coaching the girls softball team. He's actually a softie with a heart of gold. Also, he can't keep his eyes off Hallie. They have history, and she doesn't recognize him.
The slow unraveling of secrets, including their inevitable secret romance, is captivating. Their back story is deeply meaningful. The dynamic between all the firefighters is spirited and heartwarming.
I love the strong silent protective types and highly anticipated this book. I was not disappointed. Frost and Flame is a must read if you love small town romance, fun friend groups, a romantic and grumpy MMC, a strong and capable FMC, and sweet lighthearted fun. This is the fourth standalone romcom in the Firemen of Waterford TN series.
I reviewed an advance copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
Frost and Flame by Savannah Scott is fourth book in The Firemen of Waterford, TN series and is a clean standalone romance. Hallie is the first female firefighter in Waterford, TN. She is also dealing with her mom moving in with her, being a rookie firefighter, and navigating single parenting. She has NO thoughts of romance with anyone. Greyson is the silent brooding type, the firefighter that you can count on, and likes his own space. But what happened with Hallie and Greyson in Munich?
Hallie and Greyson were engaging characters who had the best chemistry, friendship and a wonderful back story. I loved watching them fall in love, grow closer, and figure out what is important. Greyson coached Hallie’s daughter’s baseball team and the scenes from the games had me laughing out loud. I may buy a lammacorn after reading. I loved visiting the town of Waterford, TN and connecting with old and new friends in town.
I am so invested in this series and am very sad this is the last book. I enjoyed the endearing characters, small town of Waterford, TN, and the sweet romance. Frost and Flame by Savannah Scott will be a 2026 favorite for me that I highly recommend.
I was gifted a copy and not required to write a positive review.
"I'm not a man to settle. I'd rather be single than be with someone, knowing you were out there somewhere."
Ok, this is officially my new favorite from this author!
I loved this sweet second chance grumpy sunshine story. It's witty, funny, charming, romantic, tender, and full of tension and chemistry. The backstory is perfectly doled out through well timed flashbacks and adds a whole other layer to the sweetness of this romance. I love the way the story of their initial meeting seems to gently echo their story in present day.
Hallie is bright and strong and, despite what she's been through, she's still hopeful. I love how well she fits in with the guys at the firehouse.
Greyson takes strong silent type to a whole new level. If I could choose one word to describe Greyson, it would be intentional. He says what he means, he doesn't hide or play games, and he's not afraid to look you in the eye and not look away. He's tender and thoughtful and good to his very core. I love how he takes care of everyone, but he lets Hallie take care of him.
I have loved this series. Each book is so unique on it's own, but together the stories and characters are so complimentary. They weave a beautifully intricate story of small town life.
I savored this story and tried to make it last as long as I could. I didn’t want it to be over but also wanted to know how it ended at the same time!
I went through the whole range of emotions while reading this. There were sweet tender heartwarming moments. Hilarious laugh out loud scenes. Bittersweet painful aches. All that and more.
Savannah knows how to add emotional depth into the heart of the characters and story. There are so many relatable moments or moments when you gain more empathy for a situation.
This book felt like coming home. You could easily look around and find yourself fitting in with all the characters both old and new.
There was a gravitational pull for Hallie and Greyson. I loved the way they orbited around each other. And the flashbacks that kept giving us the “right person, wrong time” vibe made it feel like everything clicked into place when they did get together.
This story and the whole series is absolutely fabulous! 100% recommend!!!
I received a voluntary ARC. All thoughts are my own.
Recommended reading age (14 yrs+) No spice (just kisses) No explicit language use G Rated Violence/gore ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️absolutely loved it
Greyson and Hallie had my heart from the first page to the last.
Single mom Hallie has her work cut out for her as the newest firefighter and only woman at the Waterford Fire Station. I love how she handles herself with the rookie pranks and new life circumstances. Grumpy Greyson is the sweetest. He has a hard exterior but he is a big softie and it really shows with the girls’ Little League baseball team he coaches.
Speaking of Little League…the first game is utterly delightful CHAOS and I am SO here for it! I mean, what do we expect of 7-8 year olds? Between that and a Komondor/Poodle mix named Henry Cavill (otherwise known as Daddy to some), and meddling family and friends, this book has antics galore!
I love the way Hallie allows Greyson to be human and to feel the emotions he is so practiced at bottling up. In return, Greyson is willing to take things at Hallie’s speed and make sure she’s comfortable. They both have a lot of history to reconcile with, both between them and with others, and it was beautiful to watch all of that happen.
This grumpy/sunshine, single mom, small town romance is the perfect finale for the Firefighters of Waterford, TN series.
I loved their backstory and the flashbacks to the night that Hallie and Greyson met years earlier. I loved the way Hallie and Greyson reconnected and still felt drawn to each other. I loved the way they cared for each other. I loved the camaraderie of the firefighters at the station. I loved the way Greyson treated both Hallie and her daughter, Mia. I loved finding out about the man that Greyson really was and getting to know him after seeing him in the previous books as the silent, grumpy firefighter. I loved the absolutely hilarious first game of the season for the girls' baseball team that Greyson coached! I simply loved this story.
This is such a great series and I'm glad that you really can dive into any of the stories and enjoy them as standalones, too, if you haven't read the other books.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, however, I also bought my own print copy. All opinions are my own.
I’ve truly enjoyed every book in The Firemen of Waterford, TN series, but this one feels especially memorable.
Frost and Flame may be some of Savannah Scott’s strongest writing to date. From the very beginning, I was completely taken with Greyson and Hallie. The quiet pining between them—the lingering glances, the unspoken emotions—is rendered so beautifully.
The story weaves together some of my favorite tropes—grumpy+sunshine, it’s always been her, and a broody male lead who softens for only one person.
And then there are the side characters, who add so much heart and humor. Hallie’s unapologetically candid mother delivers laugh-out-loud moments, while her spunky seven-year-old daughter, Mia, nearly steals every scene she’s in with her wise-beyond-her-years personality. Watching Greyson interact with Mia is one of the sweetest aspects of the book.
Warm, witty, and undeniably swoony, Frost and Flame balances its romantic and lighthearted moments with a genuine emotional depth that makes it all the more enjoyable.
Frost and Flame is the fourth and final book in Savannah Scott’s Fireman of Waterford TN series and boy did Scott end this series on a high note. I adored everything about this sweet second chance romance. From the flashbacks to the fire station to the secret late-night meetings to the secret dating, this book was a perfect mixture of humor, banter, and tender-hearted moments.
The story focuses on Hallie as she and daughter move to a new town for her new job as a firefighter. As Hallie juggles the demands of her new life, she finds herself unwittingly drawn to her coworker Grayson. Hallie struggles to keep the sparks from flying until she realizes who Grayson really is. The story that follows is swoony and so heartfelt.
I adored Hallie and Grayson’s backstory. It gave me Before Sunrise vibes, but I loved this one so much more. Their connection was so cute and so strong. Their time together was so magical. The backstory added so much to the story, and it reminded me of all those vignettes in When Harry Met Sally when the couples talked about how they met years before and then explained how years later they finally got together. It was so good.
Scott did a beautiful job of bringing the hopes and fears and personalities of Hallie and Grayson to life. I love how the emotions and needs of her characters were seamlessly blended with the humor and swoon Scott is known for. The story was full of light, but it also didn’t shy away from the harder parts of life. It was so well done.
This book was the perfect ending to the series. You can read this one as a standalone, but I highly recommend the books be read in order. You don’t want to miss out on each book in this fabulous series.
Thank you to the author for the gifted copy. All opinions expressed are my own.
What a sweet ending to the series. I really adored Greyson and Hallie so much. Greyson could probably be seen as a grump, but he’s more quiet and reserved and stoic and I loved how Hallie opened him up. Hallie is a single mom and her daughter was so adorable. I loved how she worked so hard for Mia and to be such an amazing role model for her. I also enjoyed that Hallie’s mom and sister were so present in this one. I liked seeing that support system for her, not just for help with Mia but also for advice and encouragement. This one had some fun aspects of the story I wasn’t expecting and I enjoyed watching these two develop a relationship. This one also deals with grief and loss and I thought it was done well and added some nice depth to the story.

If you’re craving a sweet, swoony escape with just the right amount of spark, Frost and Flame totally delivers! This fourth standalone in the Firemen of Waterford TN series is everything I want in a feel-good romcom—charming, heartfelt, and packed with chemistry that seriously sizzles (even behind closed doors 😉).
We’ve got a grumpy/sunshine dynamic that just works so well, plus a strong, determined female rookie firefighter trying to prove herself while balancing life as a single mom. I loved seeing her strength and vulnerability, and of course…the firefighter hero? Dreamy in all the best ways.
The small-town vibes, workplace tension, and sweet-but-spicy kisses made this such a fun read. It’s the kind of book you fly through with a smile on your face. This whole series has been such a cozy, romantic escape, and I’m already excited for more from Waterford!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cute, quick, and full of heart—perfect for romcom lovers!
4 ⭐ Review I really enjoyed Frost and Flame by Savannah Scott—it was a sweet, uplifting rom-com that delivered exactly what I hoped for: heart, humor, and a swoony slow-burn romance. The dynamic between the rookie female firefighter and the quiet, broody Greyson was adorable. I loved watching their relationship unfold through small moments, acts of support, and emotional growth rather than drama. Greyson’s steady, dependable nature made him such a satisfying romantic lead, and the heroine’s determination to prove herself at the fire station while juggling motherhood and family chaos made her easy to root for. The firehouse setting added fun camaraderie, pranks, and warmth, and the closed-door romance still had plenty of chemistry and tension. The story balanced family life, personal baggage, and romance in a way that felt cozy and heartfelt. If you love wholesome firefighter romances with strong family themes and tender slow-burn chemistry, this one is definitely worth picking up. 💕🔥
I have been waiting for Greyson’s story to be told. Is it because he is somber, says little, and there is a bit of a mystery to him? That would be a resounding yes, so it was great to see him get his HEA. The way that Hallie is part of his life was quite a surprise and was a great twist to their story.

I love that Greyson is a loving, caring, and humble man who is there for those he cares about. This is one story that you can really get behind the characters and root for them. I love the people that are a part of Waterford, TN. and this band of firefighters who are there for one another as they serve their community.
