Pleasured by the light of a thousand suns

I’m out of fuel for my star drive and a mysterious, alien species answers my distress signal. I shouldn’t allow them aboard my freighter--it’s all to helldom against company rules. But I’ve been traveling through the deep cold, and if I don’t get a break from the solitude soon, I might go starcrazed. I’m sure the company wouldn’t want that, or that’s the story I’m going with, anyway.

When two of the black-suited aliens step through the hatch, they seem almost human. I share my traditions, offering them a meal. It turns out, they have traditions of their own. As the dark surface of their suits ripple, tubular objects unwinding, undulating toward me, I realize these beings aren’t as human as I thought.

And it’s looking like they want to board more than just my ship.
