It's so easy to get caught up in the minutia of life today and let our guard down. So much so, that we lose sight of the bigger picture in spiritual warfare. Entertaining Spirits Unaware snaps us back to clarity of the clear and present danger of the false teachings and doctrines of occultism and the tragic, horrific consequences it brings. It has permeated our society and is brainwashing our children into acceptance of these practices that God warned us to eschew.

Starting with the 9 forbidden practices God outlines in Deuteronomy 18:9-13, the book goes through each occult practice:
1. Human sacrifice
2. Fortune telling
3. Astrology
4. Enchanting
5. Witchcraft
6. Charming
7. Familiar Spirits
8. Sorcery/Wizardry
9. Necromancy

Each topic is thoroughly researched with examples, history, and practices. The second half of the book shows the subtle and insidious nature of how occultism has infiltrated our society and our culture in entertainment, politics, holidays (Halloween) and our public education.

Although not in this book, I want to point out that President Richard Nixon became acquainted with and met psychic Jeanne Dixon through his secretary, Rosemary Woods. President Franklin Pierce conducted a seance with the Fox sisters. President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln were notorious for consulting mediums and spiritualists after their son, Willie, died. President Jimmy Carter dabbled with the paranormal and ESP. Nancy Reagan consulted clairvoyant and psychic Joan Quigley almost daily after her husband's assassination attempt. Bill & Hillary Clinton allegedly held a seance in the White House to contact Eleanor Roosevelt, and Hillary Clinton is in contact with psychic Jean Houston. Some of these people, holding high level elected offices and positions of authority in our country, are seeking out and being influenced by the demonic realm.

This is not an easy read and many Christian's toes are going to curl (as mine did) when they realize how deeply entrenched occultism has become in our lives. From The Wizard Of Oz, Peter Pan, Disney, Bewitched, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Smurfs, Harry Potter, The Thunder Cats, good luck charms, lucky numbers, horoscopes, comic books, sci-fi/fantasy, cartoons, Pokemon, ghosts, demons, werewolves, trolls, goblins, witches, vampires, and zombies, it's everywhere; and our children are at the greatest risk. Our movies, music, and literature is permeated with it.

Entertaining Spirits Unaware is an eye-opening look into how the occult is encroaching into our lives. The first half of the book examines the nine forbidden practices found in Deuteronomy 18 that the occult world utilizes today. The second half looks at how the occult as influenced the entertainment industry. You will be amazed at all the ways Satan has gone mainstream. The book is well-researched and provides godly insight into false doctrine. Entertaining Spirits Unaware is a valuable resource for every believer.

This book was written around the 2000s and couldn’t be more important today. I’m glad I came across to it. It will help you in your faith and how to deal or avoid certain content and to be successful in your Christian spiritual walk. If you had experience with new age or magic stuff or even stuff you watch on TV, this book will definitely help you to detach from the lies of the devil.

I believe that this book is a bit controversial in that alot of Christians will think the authors are going to far . He covers many areas such as books, card games, tv shows , and so forth and so forth, and ties them into the occult . At times, I thought he was being ridiculous, but then Satan does use things that may seem harmless to perform his agenda. I liked the book.
